What kind of story are you writing, here?

I'm still doing my Ingrid Bergman story. That Buick isn't going to drive itself.

Quick question: can your AI tool mimic existing art designs?

Example:

Looks like pastal art; I'm not an artist.

Can that art style (or color scheme) be transformed for this?

I can certainly try. There are a load of styles to try out (their names don’t make much sense), so I’ll have a play around.
To transpose a particular ‘style’ from the AI onto an original photograph I tend to take it to my basic photo editor first. There, I can do some rough painting and superimposing the right faces, and draw on rough details. That’s messy because I’m not that good at it and it’s only a basic programme, BUT, taking my messy edit to the AI and give the right verbal prompt, the picture gets tidied up and looks cooler, depending on the art style. (But if you want the thunderstorm stuff, it goes back from the AI to the photo editor where they’re pre-programmed filters.)…..I’m pretty proud of ‘Shearer in a thunderstorm’. Very dramatic!

My photo editor has a weird quirk where you can paint with a ‘brush’ yourself and you get a limited palette of colours….and THERE’S NO DAMN RED! we have magenta and turquoise and orange, black, white, green….all of them….no red. There’s a lot of red in this piece so I might have to get quite creative. I hope I can work it out, passing it between the two bits of software and doing some superimposing.

Just as a brief aside, over the course of our Buick collaboration, I’ve had to generate and regenerate quite a lot of Buicks and the AI has still not quite grasped the concept of a 4 wheel car machine that is not a human thing. Quite often I’ll get some really creepy shit like a human arm coming out where a wheel should be, or a human fist holding up the hood ornament….AI has a way to go.

Maybe I should start uploading some of the failures for comic relief. This is my ‘fun thread’ when I need a break from Fat Women, Troons and Loonies.

I’ll do my best, but I’m not really good at stuff. I press buttons and hope for the best. Oh, and what was that beer advert you mentioned? I think I remember something about that and never looked at it….or did I dream it?

Edit. This was a really hard one. I could get the basics but I don’t think I quite hit the aesthetic you were going for. I’ll upload them anyway because some are quite nice in their own right. These took a long time, throwing them between different editors and AI. It’s hard to merge a b&w picture with a brightly coloured image and I couldn’t find a completely suitable style. What do you think?

I love the style! Reminds me of Perfect Dark. Quite futuristic.

The ones with the Buick and Ingrid Bergman with AI were perfect! Looks like somebody actually painted them! And those took you several tries?

Norma Shearer in a thunderstorm is quite dramatic. Flying a flag during a storm with no regard is badass.

Are you good at Photoshop?

Yes, you did something with beer. I think it was Joan Crawford and Diane Baker with Pepsi.

Something simpler, a cartoon mouse drinking coffee and taking a smoke.

To be honest, most of the AI runs need a few tries before Dream AI gets it quite right. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good, but the odd mistakes betray the fact that AI really doesn’t understand basic concepts. It’s trained over many, many photos, which means that sometimes it hasn’t calculated how many fingers a person should have, or (if it’s referencing a profile, it’s confused as to how many eyes a man always has. (It’s like…”I’ve seen many pics of men, and most have two eyes, but I’ve also seen sideways men who seem to have one)….and so on. The number of fingers is a problem too, because rarely do we display exactly 10 in many photos….but having said that, it’s pretty good, and the styles are different and fun,

I have never used Photoshop! I’m not really very good at any of this…I’ve just found some software that I can just about understand and seem to work well together…and I use those. I enjoy loading a basic photo editor, playing with the image as much as I can…..you can add paint, you can superimpose two ore more pics together and use some filters like the thunderstorm. background.

Then taking it over to the AI, it can tidy up your messy paintings (like my rough nuns habit, or my messy Ukrainian flag…..then the AI will pick up what it thinks it’s seeing and churn out a prettier, neater image.

I’m sure photoshop proper is expensive and I’m sure I’d need lessons to understand it. So right now, Suspicious Activity staying in her comfort zone. I’m sure if you asked around our talented and learned Farmers you could find someone better than myself. Maybe @Lidl Drip would lend a hand!?

Then I ran it through theDream AI with the same verbal prompt, using this picture as a guide.
Oh, boy. It’s so much better than me…….

I asked about Photoshop because I wanted to see if you could convert this into a movie poster or preview in tone with the black and white. Text saying Ingrid Bergman in ... written in cursive or something.

Here’s just a small set of options available…..there are other tones and other fonts I can use. These are just some examples….

Second one is best. Did you color it yourself? I feel I'm running out of ideas.

Are you an art major? Here's an easy one. Generate something you think I'll like. Use your imagination.
Thank you. I’m no artist. I just like playing with buttons.
I’ve mocked up these 5 Buick pictures and put them in order as potential inspiration for a story.

Love the noir style. Imagine driving a convertible in the rain with the top down. First one looks like Mildred Pierce. I did tag you into another forum post.

Looks like Lauren Bacall. You know me well.

I just paid attention to the "Now generate her giving birth." text and I am afraid that if I ask for context, I will regret it

Ingrid Bergman in a slasher setting,
Did I get too carried away?
This was my original cut and paste in video editor….
DBFADFB1-49FB-4906-B1A7-489366F43A9C.jpeg

I ran this through Dream AI with some slashy language and got these…

Do you have any notes for me? I’m not too familiar with slashers so I just kind of threw them all in there.
