Oh that first birthday outfit is going to look fantastic with cake rubbed in.
What else is a first birthday outfit for?

It's the sort of outfit that you put on your bub to take photos of, before swapping it out for something easier to clean for the rest of the occasion. I wouldn't expect a bub to wear it all day, but it's nice to get a photo of your kid in a pretty dress.

I know this video has been posted before, but I just find this woman so fascinating in comparison to Alex.

While Alex has minimal dexterity in her arms but can still use her hands, Meg has full use of her arms but her hands are completely paralyzed. Other than that, they're about the same in terms of ambulatory faculties aside from Meg can probably move her torso a bit more. Meg can still make use of her hands by using other objects to reposition the fingers. She's learned to make due with what limitations she has. Alex, on the other hand (no pun intended), just says "Fuck it, I'm not even gonna try." Just watching Meg go out shopping, she opts for a regular cart that her toddler can ride in that requires a lot more effort for her to push while also moving her wheelchair rather than an electric cart.

I guess that the main thing I'm getting at is that Alex has always brushed off criticism, especially during her pregnancy, as ableism. She keeps harping on how disabled people have just as much of a right to be parents as able-bodied people. I imagine Alex spent her formative years being coddled and told she deserves the world because no one expected her to live this long. I get why, but it's made her fucking insufferable. Disabled people can be good parents. Good people can be good parents. Shitty people make for shitty parents.

Also, Meg is just a good pallet cleanser.

Alex gatecrashed those party groups while out drinking alone and looking for some people to have fun with.
They were clearly too polite to say no.

The cringe is off the charts.
I wouldn't even have done that kind of shit at 21, but at 30?
The desperation to recapture the halcyon party days is strong.

I suppose you're right, I just wanted to be hypercritical.

I will never understand expensive baby clothes. I get buying, say, a onesie that you can use for years as a hand-me-down for several children. That's extremely practical. But dress clothes for babies? No. A few years back, I saw an $80 pair of toddler dress slacks at work. You'd have to have Fuck You money for something like that. Hell, I've never even owned $80 slacks.

he just strikes me as a garden-variety knobend rather than a pathology.
A bit late responding to this, but I don't disbelieve Noah has BPD. Lately his behavior has seemed, to us, very even-keel, but BPD is actually quite manageable IF the person decides they want to stop living a dumpster fire life. We all tend to think of BPD as a life sentence because it's rare for a borderline to stay in remission from their behaviors for long, but it can happen. Especially if something or someone is creating structure and holding them accountable (looking at Mama and Papa Smith).

BPD also tends to get a bit better as the person gets older and less dumb. Tends to, not always.

Point is, just because Noah's seemingly stepping up currently (and lawdy, please let it be true that he and Ari just "visit") doesn't mean he's not borderline as fuck. That diagnosis is pretty rarely applied to men, so I tend to think he earned it.

Alex is being vague and fishing for pity. Seems like someone isn't happy right now.

The video:

That's by far the most definitive she's been about her and Noah being broken up. Even on the eve of moving to her new place, she was just calling it complicated and saying it was a situationship (and that she didn't know if Noah would be moving in).

Also a video chock full o' excuses about why we haven't seen Ari's room:

When she first moved in-- when she was still cheerful-- she talked about how the crib was on its way. It's clear now that the crib isn't there. It seems pretty obvious, at this point, that it's not there because it's still at the Smith house.

Still from video. It panned over these signs reading "Ari" (in the world's least legible font) and "Jacqueline." Jacqueline, aka Jackie, is her mom. Wonder if she's now imagining that the other bedroom will belong to Ari and her mom?

An actual selfie that she chose to post:

I also notice that she's mostly clothed now that she's with her mom. Really adds to the whole fuck-you vibe of refusing to wear clothes at the Smith house.

Is Ari's middle name Jacqueline? That sign seems to suggest it. That's a terrible middle name. Beyond the white trash-ness of it all, there's zero flow to it.

Ari Jacqueline Smith.

I didn't watch her sob video; I can't do her voice. Guessing it's wahhhh my legs are hairy, wahhhhhh no one takes care of me properly wahhhh.

I'm waiting for her to start casually dropping that Noah was "abusive" now that he seems to have actually fucked off. And not just "he didn't shave my poonany" pseudo-neglect. She won't sustain that narc injury in a dignified manner if the past is any indication.

ETA: I wonder if the oversize tshirts and such are her trying to not be evicted for lewdness. She's got them huge windows again and I'm gonna bet her rental history isn't great. If I was the rental office I'd be keeping a close eye on her and wouldn't tolerate tits out facing the street.

Whoops, I didn't even think of that! But a search of Alex's posts confirms that you're correct: it's Ari's middle name.

And can we have a moment of silence to appreciate how far that tiny, extremely premature baby has come? :heart-full:

Ari Smith just constantly sounds like Aerosmith to me. I know no-one in her generation is gonna know who the fuck they are but still.

I am also still impressed at how cute some of the babies here in the BP are. They have ugly AF cows for parents and yet Ari and Atlas are super cute. Kelly Lenza's girls could be cute as well if she wasn't intentionally uglifying them.

I also questions Noahs borderline Dx. He doesn't seem all that fussed about Alex (as any normal person would), I would have expected some more fear-of-abandonment style breakdowns at the notion of her moving out. Borderlines rarely get involved with people in a way that allows for that kind of renegotiation.
Borderlines can get bored of people and separate quietly. It's not as common as the giant messy blow up but it's the root of the "grey rock" tactic. If you're just one-note and don't really react to what they're doing, they don't get the sort of drama they thrive on and just move on. In this case, Alex may have accidentally drunk-rocked Noah, because basically all she did was get wasted every night in his parent's garage and there were no crowds of party people or irresponsible caretakers to play him off of; they just lived in a quiet residential area down the road from an upmarket shopping centre.
He also didn't get the thrill of "it's me and Alex against the world, fuck you all!" once he was actually living with his parents again... at that point Alex was just a nuisance. A loud, drunk, nuisance who did the same thing every night.
When she first moved in-- when she was still cheerful-- she talked about how the crib was on its way. It's clear now that the crib isn't there. It seems pretty obvious, at this point, that it's not there because it's still at the Smith house.
That was a master ploy by everyone involved. Appear to cave to Alex's demands and support her moving into her "own place" with Ari, get her hyped about the move, convince her Ari will be following in a day or two... and then reveal Ari's not coming and her mother will be staying with her instead. It almost makes me feel bad for Alex (until you remember why such a dirty trick would need to be employed). I know there's still a question mark about whether or not Noah's on the birth certificate, but if they've separated Alex from Ari, her mum's there telling her to knock her shit off and there's nowhere for a baby to sleep in her apartment, can she even really do much if she just phones the authorities and says "I left my kid with her father but now I want her to come live with me", but everyone else (including her mother?) insists she willfully gave up Ari?

How is not shaving your legs embracing femininity? Did she mean feminism? There's a lot more to feminism than deciding whether to shave.
In my experience, the only people who've ever given me shit about not shaving my legs have been women. Body hair is something women absolutely care about. Maybe by "femininity" she meant "what my female body does naturally." Also, can Alex even shave her own legs? That seems like something a caregiver would need to do. With her limited dexterity, I find it hard to believe she could do so without slicing herself to ribbons.

The difference between how that Meg woman interacts with her Coco and how Alex interacts with Ari is striking.

To be fair, I think Alex is much weaker than Meg and even given those modifications Meg has created, would not have the muscle strength to change Ari, especially now. Still, she never show herself being there while Noah did, blowing on the tummy, comforting baby when somebody else was dressing her. As you saw in Meg’s videos, babies hate having stuff put over their heads and require a bit of a reassurance after-Alex could have at least been there to soothe Ari and raspberry her tummy but wasn’t. She could have gotten that safe wrap and carried Ari around until she actually needed something at which time Noah could take over, but she just shoved her down her shirt for a photo shoot.

You can see how quickly Meg soothed her baby after the garment was on her face, and the baby responded. That is bond building. Meg also did the mom voice through the whole video which is instinctual and even hard to stop-babies need to hear it.

Alex was showed no innate mothering and was very stilted when talking to Ari. I know her muscles are weak so her voice is weird but but it’d still be natural to speak like that, but all she could manage were some odd nick-names.

While the disabilities aren’t the same, neither is the desire to mother. That Meg woman clearly loves kids and wants to be a good mother and is doing everything she can, even though I’m sure she’s exhausted by the end of the day. Alex has no interest. To be fair, she has less ability but she hasn’t done even what she could.

If she left Ari at the Smith's, and admitted she did it because she felt it best, I’ll give her credit for finally doing one thing right and acting as a loving mother.

She's still not posting much and, unsurprisingly, has done nothing to clarify her current situation. She did make the time to do an OnlyFans promo.

These are from a few days ago and were posted back-to-back. It's the most I've ever seen Ari interact with Alex. I think that the gravely voice toward the end of the first clip is Alex's mom again.

What is this supposed to be? At least she's dressed. Also, there's formula in the background:

OnlyFans promo from her stories. The text "link in bio" is directing you to her LinkTree-thing, which has the link to her OF.

Grid post. Same photo she used to advertise OF, a few random pictures of Ari that aren't that good (as in, snapped at weird moments), a picture of quiche and salad that she accidentally used twice in the same post, and general random nothingness:

NOAH WATCH: neither seen nor heard in this batch of photos. There's a video of Ari climbing on Alex from earlier this week, but the photos in the photo dump were older or recycled.

The sad thing is, I'm not sure Ari recognizes Alex as her mother. Coco absolutely recognizes Meg as her mother because Meg interacts with her in the ways a mother should. She doesn't move the way most humans do. The way she gets around is unnatural, but she behaves the same as other humans do. Alex moves in a similarly unnatural way, but doesn't behave the way a mother should.

Coco had to stay in the NICU like Ari. I haven't dug through her entire catalog of videos, but I guarantee Meg spent every minute she could in that NICU while Coco was there. Alex was out partying the instant she was able.

Alex says she wants an even bigger family than Meg has and I hope to God she never has another kid. She and Noah are broken up and she's not living with him anymore. I could easily see Alex becoming like Tess Holiday and Kayden Coleman, with multiple baby daddies she ships the kids off to as soon as a new one is born or she breaks up with the father. That's another thing Meg has over Alex - a stable home for her children.
