Trainwreck Alex Dacy / Alex Dzimtowicz / Wheelchair Rapunzel - 50% wholesome disability influencer, 50% that cash me outside girl

She is really beginning to upset me for that poor baby. All of us Kiwi mamas were newbies at this too at one point, but she is such a narc she refuses to reach out to the real experts for help. No, she knows best with the nipple size and randos advice on the internet.

Ari was premature, so it's going to take her longer to feed too. One of mine did that, feed, burp, rest, feed, burp, poop, sleep. It's shit but you get used to it.

She's not helping by not positioning the bottle right, too much air means gassy hungry bebe

Long time lurker here, first time poster. I felt inclined to make a post regarding a recent tiktok she made - I don't have kids but I don't think this is normal. Most of the comments were concerned. Please excuse me if I've done anything incorrectly in this post, I just thought this video needed discussion.
I don't know anything about bubs so I can't comment there. But oh, God, is Alex's voice annoying. Not only is it nasal and grating to the ear, she sounds exactly like someone at the zoo cooing at a baby animal in an exhibit.

Oh wow.

Ive been fairly optimistic with how Ari has legitimately seemed to be doing quite well developmentally, but those leg jerks at the end do not look normal at all. If my baby was doing that I would definitely be taking her to the pediatrician pronto. Could be nothing, could be infantile seizures.

I fucking hate that Muppet voice.

(But while on the subject of awful video voices, I hate those robot narrator voiceovers. I can get it for some tt vids - cheeky free narrator sets up a visual punchline. But in this one it makes no sense as a framing device for a visual, bc Alex heliums her way through the entire clip, and it's not a bit or a dance/ it didn't need a set-up. Plus, it mispronounces preemie [WHY USE THAT??]

And can someone please explain to me using those Frankenvoices for entire 10/30/60-minute YT videos? Is it just because the people themselves can't read? Or are not wanting to reveal their voices? Or is it just a common/trendy thing people think sounds professional? They're so unpleasant to listen to and just seem so cut-rate to me, but I might possibly be a little more annoyed than I ought to be about it.)

All the comments on tiktok are concerned comments. They're all saying she might have hypertonia or is hungry and telling her to stop just letting her face plant on the floor and feed the poor kid. There are also people complaining that her diapers always need to be changed and look full in her videos. Also the scratch on the back of her head. Could be a birthmark or something but it really does look like a scratch, someone said it's a common place to IV a baby so maybe it's from that. Idk, I'm certainly not in a medical or childcare profession but that video has a lot of people concerned and angry.

That doesn't really say much though. They get pissed about everything, one person even called a play mat dangerous because they thought it was some kind of elevated rocking cradle... thing... or something.

I don't know about the legs jerking. Infants DO jerk their limbs around, but I have no idea what age it switches from normal to signs of seizure activity. Or what jerking is normal and what could indicate a seizure.

I think people are outrageous. Alex is a cow, but the hysteria is out of control.

Babies rolling over is an exciting time, but the comments will have you believe the baby is in mortal danger.

Anyway, I wouldn't base anything on the comment hysteria, I would base it on common sense, or based on people who know about normal baby development (some are on this thread, some are on reddit but they are not on the hysteria bandwagon so they get chased out of the sub)

Yeah they seem really worked up. Wouldn't the doctors who are constantly checking this baby due to her preemie status notice if something was wrong? Way before social media commenters would. Like people, this kid is already getting a ton of trips to the doctor, more monitoring than average. It's not the end of the world.
Personally I find the Noah clips to be way more terrifying than the baby clips.

I can't see the video for some reason, but the talk about infantile spasms has me concerned.
Paging @Thomas Eugene Paris - your excellent commentary regarding infantile spasms on the Luna thread has educated many of us and your opinion on this is valued, so I thought of you here.
Do you see anything concerning in this video?

Babies don't typically start rolling over until 4-5 months. There's definitely something strange about the way her head is lolling and the way her legs are pumping.
Baby heads are heavy and Ari's neck muscles are still gaining strength. She can't hold her head up for very long because she's still in that potato mode of infancy.

Ari is acting like every other baby I've seen roll over before 3 months BUT I'm only looking at a single video on the internet and I'm not in person so there's a grain of salt. If Ari is in and out of the doctor's because she was a preemie, they'll probably be on the look out for any neurological issues as part of a check list. Especially because Alex was on her "twerk juice" during the beginning of the pregnancy.

All newborn reflexes disappear within 1-2 months.

I did have a 7 month old who was what I’d describe as jerky, due to torticollis. His head control was poor.
Is Ari's adjusted age 1 month old?

It's hard to tell from videos. People also thought Atlas was showing signs of seizures in the Empathetic Nutritionest thread when he was born, but as he grew, it was obvious he wasn't like Luna

Hopefully people find comfort in Ari being closely monitored, as others have mentioned in this thread. The pediatrician will notice abnormalities, and sometimes that happens even before the parents realize something is wrong, especially new parents

Adjusted age is used until age two. Just because a baby doesn't lose their reflexes exactly at one month doesn't make it abnormal. Past two months I would say it is bordering abnormal.

I'm going to be honest, short clips is not enough to diagnose anything. I hope it doesn't turn into reddit where we are looking at every little thing and proclaiming it abnormal. Babies are jerky, that's a fact.

Like you said, Ari is being monitored and I agree with what you said

The rolling over thing mostly looks like a fluke to me, infants are jerky and their heads are so big and heavy in comparison to their bodies they can quite easily just topple over. I think I've read in one of the tard baby threads here that one thing to look for to differentiate newborn seizures from the regular jerks and twitches is if it's repetative, which this doesn't look like to me.

It could be a fluke but a lot of babies learn to roll over (front to back at least) because they no longer want to be on their stomach and use their giant heads to roll over. It's hard to say with only a single video whether it's consistent behavior or not.

These photos are from Alex's Instagram yesterday.
First off we see Ari in her bouncer, staring at the dog, who seems to be staring intently back.
A.jpg

Noah is zonked or posing with Ari.
A2.jpg
He looks utterly exhausted here, I almost felt sorry for him. SUFFER.
A4.jpg

The longer I look at her weird black torso/brown sleeves top, the more I think it looks like she has photoshopped someone else's arms on.
More importantly, WHERE ARE HER PANTS?
A3.jpg
Pant free again.
Really can't say I'm liking Ari's neck position here.
A6.jpg
Oh Alex, no. No no no no.
Alex8.jpg

This photo of Ari in her bouncer created a war between the cripguarders and the 'concerned commentors', as it was noticed that the clip was undone so Ari wasn't strapped in, and was therefore at risk of slipping down and falling out.
A5.jpg

Cripguarders argued that the straps were fastened under the blanket, and the argument raged on for ages until Alex posted a short video to her stories later.
I only grabbed a screenshot as she said nothing of interest and Ari barely moved.
At least Alex actually listened and fastened the damn straps, that's something.

Finally, I noticed that little Ari has little elf princess ears.

That’s called Stahl’s ear, it’s due to an extra fold in the cartilage. Technically, this is a birth defect. Ear molding is effective if done the first month. After that, ostoplasty is the fix.

Williams Syndrome has this feature, but people with WS have obvious facies. I am not saying Ari has it, because WS a companies other things like starry pattern in the iris. But it is seen in those with WS. Outside of that, 1 in 6000 newborns are born with Stahl’s ear.
