Ari is consistently uninterested in Alex, though it's certainly possible that she also hated the swings. Alex said it was the her first time swinging, so she may have just been confused and displeased.

Alex must never have been around children at all, because she has no clue how to interact with them. Noah didn't have a clue, but he's improving, and it shows in how much Ari lights up when she sees him.

So Alex had to be put in that postion her leg being bent and her arm being on the other leg is what is allowing her to use her arm to attempt to feed Ari. And she probably will not last long in that position at all with the muscle strength it requires. Ari probably does not view Alex as anything much due to others having to manhandle her or do things for her to allow her to do things for Ari. Alex probably has about as much worth to the kid as the spoon does.

I travel a bit through parts of FL and it's normal to pay upon delivery. Drivers all accept cash, and most also have credit card readers (some cc readers attach to smart phones, too.)

If you order through a third party website then you almost always have to pay online first because those sites will charge you a service fee. But you can call up any restaurant that delivers and they'll ask if you're going to pay cash or credit, and then just send their driver prepared for either.

Also, fuck people who waste food worker's time, money and who cause food wastage itself.

This is completely performative mothering for the benefit of social media. I'd bet my last penny that she only does it when the camera is on her.

Ari has been doing great feeding herself, despite her parents trying to kill her by giving her entire giant sticky dates.
Alex then confuses her during BLW by shoving a spoon at her without even miming the open mouth action at her, just screeches all to show the haters that she is a capable mother who can parent just fine thank you very much.

Unfortunately what she has shown us is the exact opposite.

Aris lack of interest in Alex is only going to deepen as she gets to the twos and threes where kids are boundary testing. She'll completely realise that Alex is not a secure base. Attachment requires not just love but tangible protection both psychologically and physically. Alex is an emotionally stunted person herself I mean look how she handles what she calls a debate. By screaming in the kitchen at her in-laws. That is not stable psychologically. That is not compassionate. So even if you leave the physically aspects aside she still isn't even able to show up for Ari in a relational sense.
Physically she can't do anything. She can't even assess her baby's mental state as demonstrated by trying to feed her with the spoon when the baby is more interested in picking the food up. I don't want to read too much into the pictures but the ones where she's stuffed down the front of Alex's shirts the baby looks distressed.
In fact what Alex is physically able to do has decreased in the time between her conceiving Ari and now. Alex doesn't even tolerate wearing clothes now. I can't imagine how uncomfortable and embarrassing that is going to be for Ari growing up that her mother hangs about half naked all the time. That's just not the culture where she lives. People need boundaries and respect to feel safe and secure.

Alex is the milkiest cow on my roster at the moment but it is sad that we are likely going to see some form of disordered attachment develop in this child. Yes she has loving grandparents and seemingly a father who is stepping up for her (for now) but rupture in the secure attachment between mother and child can still have an affect in those with loving families. Just look at adoptees and children born of surrogacy that feel a core wound from not having secure attachments to a birth mother. And that's a best case scenario, that Alex is just a bit shit and ineffectual. Likely Alex is going to be a manipulative cow who grooms Ari to be her carer, confidant and emotional garbage dump because Alex is exactly that type of person.

I had an acquaintance with SMA - a really lovely person who lived a much cleaner lifestyle than Alex health wise. No drinking, no partying. She also had a little more mobility.

She died in her sleep (asphyxiation) in her early 30s.

It’s sad that Ari will most likely grow up with little memory of her Mama. Even sadder because she seems to have so little connection with her as an infant. Kids can scent out assholes. Ari knows.

People keep saying that Alex being so disabled is a reason for the lack of attachment, but its more so that Alex gives no shit about that kid. I've worked with extremely disabled people with children and they find ways to make that attachment regardless of disability.

Alex has markedly declined pre and post pregnancy. In both her functionality, mobility, posture, and just visually she looks much more worn out. How much of this is just the natural progression of her disease versus the accelerated aging of skmply being pregnant, its hard to say, but the differences are striking in such a short amout of time.

In her pre pregnancy and even mid pregmancy photos, Alex was able to sit up much straighter in her chair, and even with her baby bump, her spine was at least in a semi vertical position. Post pregnancy he spine is seemingly collapsed in on her side causing her organs to bulge out, almost making her look even more pregnant now than she was when she actually was pregnant. Pregnancy has definitely taken a toll on her body.

I had almost forgotten that in her ultrasounds with Ari there was concern that there may be something wrong genetically with her, since there were some abnormalities shown in her heart. I wonder if Alex has ever followed up on this and gotten more testing done with Ari to confirm if everything is okay or not. Ari seems especially happy, robust, and thriving but who knows how she is internally. Also, for someone like Alex who thrives on attention, as you said, we never hear of any pediatric visits for Ari. I remember with my babies, there are numerous checkups just within the first year to ensure everything is fine with the baby and growth is going well.

I can't believe this, not if Noah's parents are the least bit what they seem to be (normal/sane). I was/am a pretty sanguine and relaxed parent, but even with kids with zero issues, getting an infant in for wellbaby checkups was not something to delay, let slide, skip. If nothing else, who didn't want to get those marked-up growth charts? And it was so "must do," I'd have felt like a criminal not being all over those appointments.

Add a severe maternal condition and a freaking study group setup for the child, and no reasonably responsible adult with any ability to care for the child would not have that baby in for every checkup on time, scheduled out as far as the eye can see. If Alex and Noah are idiotic/self-absorbed/short-sighted enough to skip on the basic and the Ari-specific appointments, then his parents surely can't be equally stupid. I forget how old Noah or his oldest sibling are, but his parents aren't so old they'd be totally out of touch with norms or an understanding of this unique situation. I HOPE.

On a human level, I feel for Alex. Her condition is real, and serious, and beyond the day-to-day limitations, she surely knows the typical life expectancy and trajectory of her condition. I'd hate having that hanging over my head (or having to block it out to avoid spiraling downward mentally). I'm sure that plays into her attitude and choices, and while not an excuse for playing loose with anyone's life but her own, it is a built-in pain that I don't envy. I hope that the cope about it doesn't actually extend to playing loose with Ari's checkups or any opportunity to identify health issues for the baby as early as possible...and if it does, I hope the family "village" has more neutral common sense.

I think this is the crux of her issues. Spinal fusions eventually fuse bone to bone, and unless the instrumentation fails, they remain stable long term.

This is much more likely to be directly as a result of the C-section severing all four layers of the abdominal muscles responsible for maintaining her upright posture. With them out of action it's mostly the already weak latissimus dorsi and erector spinae that are doing the job, but it's not enough, and so her torso isn't being supported properly. She looks as if she's lost about six inches in height from pre pregnancy.

The SMA belly is much more pronounced as the muscles supporting it are now like noodles. I wouldn't be surprised it there's a giant hernia in there that no-one has noticed because of the SMA belly, given her general muscle laxity.

Recovery of the muscles is difficult given that Alex can't mobilise like a typical C-section patient. She should have been working with an OT from the start to maintain what function she had throughout, and to mitigate the inevitable abdominal muscle loss.
Her much hated chest strap would have helped her manage this, had she only deigned herself disabled enough to use it.

This is only addressing the postural issues from her abdominal incision.
To fully discuss the myriad deletorious effects that pregnancy has had on her body would require far smarter than I, and a much longer series of posts.

ETA:
I just looked back at the post by @SpiceyHuman and realised that the angle of her wheelchair is totally different now.
Pre pregnancy she is sitting normally.
Post pregnancy the whole seat is tipped backwards at an angle, in case she falls forward.
This is further evidence that she can't sit upright on her own, certainly without a chest strap.

I’ve been wanting to post about disability + feminine hygiene for a while & when I saw @mileycyrus announce her campaign collab for women’s rights I HADDDD to re-make her photo to discuss this topic bc Miley is a QWEEN And I met my goal on Patreon where I promised I would post about this nitty gritty stuff if I met it. I’m nervous to discuss this topic but I’ve been wanting to, so let’s do it babes. Sitting all day means needing to take extra care of the honey spots Because of the way my body is shaped, I have what I call “slits” which are the creases that are in my pelvis region- where your thighs meet the bits. They stay closed 90% of the time because of how I sit & sleep. This can cause bacteria to grow bc it’s essentially a roll. Oh yum Every night I make sure to wipe them with a summer’s eve wipe and dry them out extra good so there isn’t any moisture in there for bacteria to swing by. And during the summer.... oh joy... extra sweat = extra swamp ass Another thing I do is use a vag towel. Y’all know I love to chill pantless & if I plotted my bare bits on my bare seat cushion all day- it’s like wearing underwear you don’t change. So, I toss down a little towel when I’m bare ass and I can remove it when I decide to wear pants (lol is that even a thing) without my seat cushion getting ripe Even still, I do clean my seat cushion regularly! The text is TMI, but Alex looks several million times better in that photo. You can really see the kind of thing Jimmy Dean Bowl was talking about: she's so much more upright in this photo. But, is it just me, or does her face also look tons better? And her hair has more thickness and fullness. Even her teeth and skin look better. She just looks brighter, happier, healthier. You're totally right.
She's radiant in this photo and looks well cared for, healthy and happy.
The quality of her skin now is akin to that of an alligator given her penchant for tanning, but even her hair is less lustrous and so limp.
This picture was taken only 4 years ago, yet she looks like she's aged at least 10.

Going back to her posture, I thought of something else: another thing keeping her upright is her SMA belly.
Without the large mass resting on her thighs acting as a physical block she would simply fold forward.
This, in conjunction with the tilt in space angle of the wheelchair, is enabling her to sit up. The photo where she is 'feeding' Ari demonstrates this beautifully.

It's a shame, as her fans believe that she has come through pregnancy unscathed, ready to pop out another. Young girls with the same condition are inspired by her that they too can be mothers. They do not see beyond the smoke and mirrors that she is using in an attempt to keep things looking as they were pre pregnancy.
Because being as 'normal' as possible is much more important to her than informing people about the realities of pregnancy with her condition.

Regarding the well baby visits, it could be that Noah or the Smiths are taking Ari, leaving Alex at home because it's too much of a hassle to try and transport them all there (they don't have a wheelchair accessible van do they?). And because Alex doesn't go, it's not filmed.
