Sure... if you consider $38mil in taxes on $150mil income as "jack shit." (There's speculation that the Trump camp actually leaked the return themselves because it basically reflects well on him)
Just like the right wing has to accept the fact that some of their support does come from people who are legitimately poorly educated racist hicks who vote for Jesus, the left has to accept that a big chunk of their group is what I think should be called "Dunning-Kruger" liberals.
Alison is not nearly as smart as she thinks she is (if she was, right now Nintendo would be paying her a ridiuclous salary for tweeting about how awesome Zelda is you guys). When she hears that Trump paid 38 million off of 150 million, she's picturing that other $112 million sitting in a Scrooge McDuck style vault that Trump goes and rolls around in, and wondering why our lazy government didn't take the rest and turn it into welfare and food stamps. That's about as far as her understanding of socioeconomic problems needs to go from her perspective, because she's open minded and kind and knows she's correct.
Don't think about the fact that Trump used that money to open up a new hotel in 2006 creating a ton of jobs that people who need welfare could apply for. DEFINITELY don't think about the fact that Bernie Sanders paid around half the percentage that Trump did. Actually don't think too much about it all, this isn't about numbers, it's about good versus evil and Trump is evil so he must not have paid enough money.
These are the same people that think you can have an anarchist-communist country, or think that beating people for saying things they don't like is the opposite of fascism. The fact of the matter is, even if we're not always sure what's right, people like Alison simple haven't thought that much about it but sure like to pretend they have.
