TGWTG Allison Pregler / Obscurus Lupa / Movie Nights - The vindictive leader of #ChangeTheChannel, GOTIS personified, vendetta against The Cinema Snob

I was 22 when 9/11 happened so please if someone from that age group can set me straight but I would assume kids would be sent home and school cancelled for a few days.

Actually, a lot of schools decided against mass dismissal in order to keep things 'normal' for the students. Parents could come get their kids if they wanted to, but otherwise, school stayed in session. It's that whole "trying to keep things as normal as possible" thing.

I was a freshman in college when it happened and the school didn't close, but we were excused if we wanted to be.

She strikes me as the type that's "totally asexual" until her type of guy comes along. I don't mean somebody that checks most of the boxes on what she wants, I mean 99%-100%, absolutely what she wants. He has to be perfect or so damn close that you couldn't tell otherwise.

I think Lupa probably was raised by the TV and had unrealistic expectations about relationships. Perfect looking people and perfect "destined" romances where two people just happen to meet and fall in love forever. She might even have sexual hangups and issues like frigidity. A lot of girls are like this in their teens and early 20s, but she should have grown out of that phase by now.

But they do lose money. Patreon tskes a cut.
I don't think that's actually true. Patreon tried to revise their scheme last year to try to "front-load" their cut -- charging donors their percentage instead of recipients -- but it inspired a user revolt of gargantuan proportions because so many of these e-beggers do exactly what that policy change would have stopped because it considered a donation from one Patreon account to another subject to the fee. The salt was glorious.

They decided not to implement the change, so I think it's still free for users to slide their chips around on the Patreon table. They only get dinged for a percentage when they cash in their chips. If someone on Patreon donates $1 to you from their balance and you donate $1 to another Patreon account from your balance, no fees are assessed. It's a pretty convenient way to boost stats if you've got enough people in a circle to do it.

I was 10. A few kids got picked up by their parents early but most of us were there the whole day. My classroom and most of the other third and fourth grade classes had our TVs on. The younger classes tried to go on like a normal day

Every school was different. I was in high school at the time and they didn't technically dismiss us early, but the teachers stopped taking attendance and teaching, and most of the students just wandered the halls to either go to the office, call their families, and just talk about what was happening.

School was not cancelled for the next few days afterwards.

At my school classes weren't cancelled but we were watching the news in some classes. It was weird, we weren't informed what really happened at least in the classes I was in. I had no idea that planes hit the towers and I don't think the other kids realized it either. We had to come into school the next day too.

I was only in first grade when 9/11 happened. I don't remember school being cancelled for the next few days. What I remember about the day itself was that our school went into lockdown mode. We essentially had to stay in our classrooms in a big huddle in the back of the room, with he doors locked and the lights off.

I didn't stay long for that because my mother, among a whole bunch of parents, came to the school to pick me up right as this procedure began to go into effect.

I was in fourth grade when 9/11 happened. I didn't even know that anything occurred until the end of the school day. After that school wasn't cancelled but we'd have class discussions from time to time about the attacks.

To put it closer to topic, my partner is/used to be a casual fan of Lupa's work. (She hasn't watched new content in ages and I have no idea if Lupa is even doing videos nowadays). I've watched her stuff with her and was underwhelmed. Partner and I are into the sort of stuff she likes to "review" so that's not the problem. She's just not entertaining.

I was in a (public) college at the time. They didn't cancel classes. One of my professors was pretty shook up and forwent the scheduled lecture in favor of a group discussion about what happened, but that's about it.

IIRC, the grade school kids also reported for school like normal. At least where I lived.

So her story checks out, TBH.

To get the thread back on topic, today Lupa got into a Twitter fight over the new Ghostbusters film.

Nice to see that the habit of rabid blocking on social media is still well alive among Channel Awesome alumni.

She totally wanted Brad , she is so bitter about it she bragged about adding his name to her mute list.
When she first moved to Il she would be on all of brads content saying it was because she had no other Friends there (why move there if it wasnt for Brad?)
He was fresh out off the Jake And rayn thing , And i'm sure they didnt drive the 1 1/2 hours from Springfield to Champaign every night after they went to the movies.
But Allison forgot Brad likes them young , the only woman close to 30 he has Been with is JIllian And thats because she turned 30 when she was with him

I think by that point Brad had earned a Masters Degree in “Don’t stick your dick in the crazy” andknew better.
