I feel the need to comment here, because there's part of the Lupa experience that wasn't really in the OP and really does deserve to be discussed.

While TNC may have started the ball rolling that would ultimately end CA as most know it (with CTC), the groundwork was laid way earlier, and Lupa had fucking everything to do with that shit. During all the above Autism, and indeed, well before it, there were several agitators that were involved with trying to stir shit up on Channel Awesome and trying to push out individuals that were deemed too... Problematic, because of fucking course they did. None were more involved with that shit than Lupa, and while she deserves much of the blame for beginning Spoony's descent into madness, she didn't do it alone - she had help, and that help was JesuOtaku.

Alison is a shit-stirring drama-causer whose needling, probing attitude constantly causes problems, but Jesu is about as close to outright evil as one can get in CA circles, with a history of backstabbing, theft, and manipulation to rival some of the worst of the Rat King members. Individually, both are simply assholes; together, however, they feed off one another in the worst possible ways and create an Autism singularity none can escape from.

I enjoyed when she did z horror movie reviews, but that was way before I knew about all the drama she was a part of. That stuff with Brad is just really low.

Seems like she's gotten kind of lazy, as most of her stuff is voice overs and podcasts now. If she was burnt out because of CA she should have just quit. I think things aren't going so well for her financial wise, seeing as how she hasn't even broken 50,000 subs on youtube and Phelous just got 100,000.

And Brad is beating them both combined.

I remember reading the channel autism thread during the CTC drama as an entirely removed entity (never watched any CA videos barring whatever clips Jim included in his TGWTG retrospective), and thinking "well some of them may have some decent points, but this Lupa chick is legit batshit crazy". Doug and Brad were always popular and retained their fans, and Larry was never really part of the site anyway and even got a boost in exposure from the whole thing. Everyone that left was either faded away or had a following anyway.

I remember back in March when the whole #ChangeTheChannel thing kicked into gear that he participated, alongside Allison to boot, in a lot of the Twitter threads full of CA ex-contributors reminiscing about their times there. Once the hashtag proper took form and people like Linkara and Todd and the Rap Critic jumped ship, Phelan pretty much got the fuck out of there to dodge, almost as if he knew full well a shitstorm was-a brewing. He didn't even contribute to the "Not So Awesome" doc like everyone else did, instead having Allison speak for him. All he did afterwards was remove all the references to JewWario in his videos in response to Carmical getting exposed as a sexual predator.

Phelous is sort of like Brad in that he doesn't want to get himself involved in any kind of shitshow, regardless of whatever side of the drama he's on. Which perplexes me even further as to what the hell he sees in Lupa.

The hilarious thing is even though CTC as a movement flamed out and CA was reduced to Doug, Brad, and Larry, Allison is still hellbent on ruining Doug. Every now and then she'll start ranting on Twitter trying to keep CTC going even though largely everyone who was involved stopped caring. CA as an entity has shrunk as much as it possibly can and there's no way anyone is going to sign onto it again and yet that isn't enough for Allison.

Rate this what you want but have so conflicted feelings about this thread because I genuinely like her and some of her content, tho I agree there is some shit that I just can't watch between my fingers without feeling like she should calm down a bit. Mostly it is about just not letting some stuff go (that she was self-aware of in the video) and the political sperging.

But been following her during a few years now, I am still a bit suspicious is she really a lolcow because lot of her stuff, like the CA bashing or grudges, came from personal beefs with CA (like being yelled at and CA being unfair to her with patreon), but otherwise she is kind of mild with her stuff and some of the spergier shit has to be dig from bit heated twitter discussions. Even her video about the CA fallout wasn't imho unreasonable, spergy or bad.

It is really hard to say because yes she explodes at times with tweets and stuff I can't agree with and that are kind of unnecessary, but in the end imho she doesn't seem like god awful person even close of the level many of the cows are. Tho I have kind of same with many people. For example I'm not sure would I count Doug as cow neither, just egoistical moron. I think she goes to the category of people I don't find to be much lolcow-y.

.. I have to agree with this on a level that Phelous had much better attitude with the shitshow, considering he had too some personal shit with Doug who got behind his back in the past based on his tumblr post about his beefs with CA. Tho I get too on some level that Lupa's quitting with the CA was a bit more dramatic and all and I understand why she would have bigger beef with CA than Phelous. STILL, I think it is more about it that Phelous usually stays out of drama and all, not just this one. Neither he bring politics or too spergy personal issues on his twitter, but posts mostly about his videos of reviewing goofy TMNT bootlegs or personal stuff. I don't think it had much to do with avoiding Lupa's insanity but generally staying out of the drama.
