TGWTG Allison Pregler / Obscurus Lupa / Movie Nights - The vindictive leader of #ChangeTheChannel, GOTIS personified, vendetta against The Cinema Snob

Long overdue. I imagine it'll really take off around the 1 year anniversary of CTC as we all look back at how it failed miserably in the end after such a promising start (for them anyway; we had fun watching the trash fire).

I consider CTC a bit successful but it did fail for people like Allison who thought much worse would've happened to Doug when most of the backlash was against an unseen person plus the Alogging she did makes her look really bad.

It was successful in terms of causing a mass exodus of creators and then Lupa and co. acted all smug that they won against the patriarchy (Marzgurl even rewriting that song for Hamilton to rub it in)....and then THAT reveal happened and all of a sudden, their victory was tainted lol

Pretty much since that reveal made everyone but Marzgurl look bad iirc

I haven't been following much of this CTC shitstorm, but have any of the people last year who so firmly believed CA was going to collapse said anything recently, knowing well that the "movement" was (mostly) unsuccessful and CA is still alive? Or have they as I'd predict, just fallen completely silent on the matter?

CA itself isn't alive anymore since it went from a large collection of people to just Doug and Larry (and Brad?). The problem is, that version of CA was largely made up of literal who's. Doug was already relying more on his YouTube channel than the actual CA site, and he was so entrenched with his audience it wasn't going to do any kind of damage. If CTC had happened earlier/if some of the major players were still alive it might have done some more damage. Probably the most damaging time for it to have happened was during Doug's demo reel phase, since that was when he was losing a lot of his loyal audience. Even then, I think if he fell back on bringing back NC his core audience would have shrugged it off.

Apart from the occasional lamentation that their subs and, more importantly, views haven't increased from the publicity...not really.

Lupa herself only got like a few thousand more subs and nothing else. I think her highest recent video was the one where she had discovered that rare Quantum Leap footage then everything went back to normal afterwards.

Good god I would had loved to seen Alison's reaction to Doug Nutcracker review. While Doug is annoying as hell that ending while a tribute to his mom it was also a major fuck you to the CTC crowd with them moving to a new bigger studio and showing all the people who still collaborate with them like Brad, AVGN, Andre the Black Nerd, Jon Bailey, and Cinema Sins to name some. It was like Channel Awesome saying we're still here, we're still growing, and we still have friends Merry Christmas.

Even before all the drama, I was never a fan. She doesn't seem to understand sarcasm is like salt. Too much and it becomes unpalatable. That and she reminds me of my sister in law who I don't like. IIRC she found Spoony's post a month after the fact and started shit which is why she got so much backlash. It's not lost on me that a lot of the chicks from CA are SJW dipshits and CTC was just SJWs doing what they do best, wrecking shit. We all know about Lindsay "Hair of the dog, fleas and collar" Ellis and I once had Pushing Up Roses give me a condescending speech about how if I truly loved my friends/family who were Trump supporters I would reeducate them. Stupid Rick Moranis in drag looking bint. Makes me glad CA is still around in some form.

While it doesn't excuse her batshittery, I remember Lindsay dubbing Allison's singing in a review (I think it was "The Little Mermaid"...I have an image of Allison with her dyed red hair & construction paper purple seashells taped to a flesh toned camisole), I think with Elissa's singing. No one told her it was going to happen, she just assumed they asked her, they would use her voice. As a 19 to early 20-something year old, I can see how that would really hurt. Not that Allison has ever considered herself a singer on any level (I think), but still---that's a shitty move.

Years later, after she left CA, she talked about it. And she sang "This Is The Moment" from "Jekyll & Hyde".

She isn't a singer by any means, and that's a tough song to sing. But she was sufficient. I mean, for an online review show.

As I said, it doesn't excuse her behavior, but I just remember it and I can see how that may have made a chip on her shoulder about CA from the beginning. Performers have always been screwed over (hell, ghost singing cost Audrey Hepburn an Oscar nomination), but you get pissed, then learn from it, then move on & don't make the same mistake again. I also remember hearing somewhere (I can't remember where, I'm sorry...I spent a good amount of time racking my brain but I just can't) that Allison was asexual...which might help explain her long term, long distance relationship with Phelous. I'm not saying that sex has to have a huge portion of a relationship (long distance or otherwise), there are plenty of other ways to have a normal, healthy functional relationship....but....yeah. Do with that what you will. As I said, I just remember hearing it.

When you act like such a bitch you make Mike Michaud look good by comparison.

To be fair she mentioned this meant economical hit for her and she was worried over how to pay her rent because of these later suddenly changed CA rules about patreon etc, so I kind of get it was hard and extremely stressful situation, not just about "wah wah someone was rude to me!". I mean we all have followed the CA fallout and at this point know it was and is run by incompetent and unprofessional wanks. I find this tiny bit reach.

That said I'm actually a bit afraid to check that earlier posted Trump video of her.

"not a troon"

It's almost like even non-trans people can be ugly too!
Or maybe it's because she looks like a man to someone? There's a difference between looks when it comes to looking ugly/ beautiful and looking like a man/ woman. For instance a man can be "beautiful" but still look like a man, same goes with a "handsome" woman but still be a woman though that term is rarely used for them anymore and usually for women over 40, it's all about the skull structure. Not that the mentally ill would understand such differences.

That's why I always try not to follow creators of shit I sometimes enjoy. Her recaps of Baywatch were enjoyable, mostly because I never watched the show. The older stuff was hit and miss, but it's an internet clip review show made with a webcam that I'm not paying for. The high expectation were never there.

The dramamongering, tho.

In the end, after the CtC stuff, somehow Doug ended up on top of the pile of dead bodies. Dead wood got cut, the YT channel is alive and well, because nobody beside us and Twitter cliques really pay attention. And the document posting group somehow set themselves a bomb with JewMario shit.

All that posturing and shouting got her nothing beside empty satisfaction and flickering attention.

Anyone and Everyone knows an Alison. They are pure workplace toxicity. Vindictive, self centered, constantly outraged, particularly about things that do not concern them. Her life and career path can clearly be seen. Bottom tier retail drone forever, and a dozen cats in a small apartment.

And let’s be honest, she is all but unemployable. Notice how many partner networks she’s been dumped from? She’s pushing 30. Her entire work history is “Youtube Drama Queen,” which does not score you the big bucks in corporate America, and which even Government Work views as less desireable than having been in prison.

Mildly autistic and a touch bipolar is probably correct. As far as cows go, we have much worse around here, but Alison does rank as one that I would never ever want in my workplace.

Has Alison ever had a real job outside of producing online videos?
