I legit don't think mario and luigi or paper mario would work in the current gaming era.
Sad but what can you do?

RPGs are extremely popular right now in both Asia and the USA. Hell, Undertale is a cult classic in Japan.

That and I'm still bothered that people think BOTW is the best Zelda ever despite the game having next to no content to justify the open world.
Yeah, I know. Just because the "real world" is like that doesn't mean it translates well to fictional media that's supposed to be fun.

I spent more time playing the snowball game to gather rupees in order to buy all the equipment and missing photographs.
My go-to method for raising funds was by dynamite fishing down the river and, to a lesser extent, at the shoreline. The Dueling Peaks area is rich with fish. Then I cooked them up into skewers and sold them. They were also my favorite healing food to haul around as well.

My big pet peeve about all this is that people who were decrying the remakes months ago and screaming at people not to buy them are the same people who are going "oh my God how did this happen? :( "

I can't say I think releasing two M&L remakes back to back like they did was a great business move but I can't stand the people who actively asked for people not to buy developers games shedding their crocodile tears over this

People these days don't understand how capitalism works...and basically anything else related to economics; which is ironic, given that this is an RPG.

I totally blame a lousy platform for their decline. I'm sorry but the 3DS is Nintendo's lamest hardware, sad they won't get one last shot with a Switch game.
Except for the slight problem that their second best selling game was on the 3DS: dream team.

Their bigger issue was publishing on the 3ds years after the switch came out. There is nothing wrong with the 3DS, many games have done well on the platform, but in 2019 it is an old platform, like publishing on the PS2 in 2011.
