Having read the comics briefly before season 1 was announced I hoped the approach would be same basic structure but written better. It's a shame to see that it's instead used for self flagellation because as low as my opinion is of the comic, Kirkman should have instead been proud of what he had accomplished during that time. To go "no I don't like it because the current year deems it that not enough darkies are around" is just fucking retarded and it feels like an even bigger insult that the guy who originally worked on the comic thinks this way. What a way to respect the original comics...
As a flip I could give a shit if he was a Filipino or what. Just make a good story and I'll read or watch.View attachment 5257313

I hate the self flagellation so much. You can't just say "times have changed", you have to say that it's "dumb white guys" and insult others because we know those smart niggers created so much there's a ton of adaptions of their works.View attachment 5257313

"My liege, we've discovered a terrible fate that has been inflicted on humanity. They've all become ..."I swear, if aliens discover humanity through our media they'd think that in 2008 half of us turned into negroids by some supervillain.
When you see what Kirkman looks like, which is a goony beardman straight from central casting. I am not shocked to hear him say this. Now he probably has to say things to keep Hollywood happy, but still I am not shocked.![]()

We would have Filipino fans come up and say, "I'm so excite you made Mark Filipino,' we would have Mexican fans come up and say "I'm so excited you made Mark Mexican".
It seems to be a pretty decent start for the source material it's based on, but as with where the comic was at this point in the story they're incorporating shitty multiverse stuff. It's hard to get any gold from that at this point. So the first episode is on the highseas. I guess noone is watching this huh?
Why the fuck did everythign start doing multiverse shit? The comic was actually pretty early to it, somewhere between 02 - 07. It wasn't the first to the concept of course but it was still 'fresh'. Even considering that I don't think the comic did it well, everything good S1 of Invincible did the comic fumbled through. It's one of the few cases I think an adaptation has really, truly improved things besides the pointless raceswapping/making his friend gay. The show's fucking up by using this plotline as is, there's some modification to it but there's plenty of other stupid shit the comics do post where S1 of the show ends and I didn't even read it much further because it gets *so bad*.Why the fuck did everythign start doing multiverse shit? I'm tired of it
to be fair, in the show's defense, this was a thing in the comics kinda early onWhy the fuck did everything start doing multiverse shit? I'm tired of it
I've been reading it on a pirate site recently and it's not too surprising that he went full cuck with the show because a lot of things about the comic already leaned in that direction even if they're tame by today's standards. The viltrumites are basically a hamfisted metaphor for European colonialism and le nazis, Eve's dad is a caricature of a boomer misogynist, half of the plot revolves around Mark being emasculated or punished in one way or another whenever he tries to be decisive in any way or feels like he's getting a handle on things, etc. It's not as egregious as more actively woke relics of the 90s like Neil Gaiman's Sandman, but you can tell he was trying to show off how progressive/forward thinking he thought he was being for a crusty manchild comic book dork.Having read the comics briefly before season 1 was announced I hoped the approach would be same basic structure but written better. Endgame really popularized it to the normies. Arguably, Rick and Morty added fuel to the fire. It was already milked to death in the comic scene before it ever hit the big screen. The council of Ricks was a parody or outright stolen from the council of Reed Richards. Angstrom's story is a play on it.Why the fuck did everythign start doing multiverse shit? I'm tired of it
It wasn't nearly that bad. Besides, Viltrumites are the most powerful species in their galaxy. The ending was more or less what the empire originally had in mind except way less brutal. Benevolent colonialism you might say.I've been reading it on a pirate site recently and it's not too surprising that he went full cuck with the show because a lot of things about the comic already leaned in that direction even if they're tame by today's standards. I know it doesn't seem bad in light of what's going on nowadays but the weasely little nerds who wrote comics like this 20 years ago are some of the shrillest PC faggots around nowadays and there's a clear progression from sprinkling in hints of this stuff back then to them obsessively spewing it out in every waking moment now. A lot of what the book tries to cope with in its retarded little way is the "price" of "progress" and it's not too hard to see how a guy like Kirkman would define such a thing even at the time.It wasn't nearly that bad. well his friend does actually end up being gay later in the comic but since he was the tryhard dude always taking about hot babes and calling Mark gay it's played off as a joke.making his friend gay.
The first couple of episodes of Gen V gave me brain damage, I'm still recuperating. So the first episode is on the highseas. I guess noone is watching this huh?
