Episode 2 was fun with the Cecil origin story. When the show grinds to a halt with College drama or Mark’s mom I just can’t help but pull my phone out because those scenes suck.

I want to see Edgy Violent Superheroes, not Sandra Oh playing a divorced housewife.

The animation somehow looks even cheaper in the few scenes I watched before stopping.
Yeah, some parts are actual slideshows, but I don't mind it personally, as long as the fight scenes are done well.
So far Season 3 is pretty enjoyable, glad it feels like it is getting straight to the point compared to Season 2.

Having re-read the comics last month, I can theorize that they stuffed the "most boring / slice of life" parts in these 3 episodes and the following ones will be the big main events, which are a pretty big turning point in the story.

Why do you think that was Kirkman's idea and not a production collapse?
why the hell did he want that?
Kirkman outright admitted it and it's because he thought it would leave people in suspense and hyped for more.

This is because the other show that adapted his comics, The Walking Dead, consistently has mid season finales like Invincible Season 2 did.

First few episodes of Season 3 were good, strong start so far.

He only said that with an Amazon.com gun to his head. Not a single person who makes shows for Amazon wants stuff like mid season breaks, tons of advertisements, 3:00 a.m. premier times, and AI generated episode recaps.

Not to cite myself but here's an article I posted awhile back but will post the full quote

Apparently the "mid-season" break was something fucking Kirkman insisted on for "narrative purposes".

Kirkman is a pretentious hack at times and Amazon never does this with any other show. Like they don't do this with The Boys which is arguably bigger than Invincible, but the fact this exact thing happened with The Walking Dead makes me firmly believe it's his decision

"…this is something that we’ve done with every season of The Walking Dead, and I think narratively, it’s kind of cool to have that pause to digest what you’ve just experienced. And when you see Episode 4 of Season 2, you may need a break. It’s a big episode. It’s definitely a mid-season finale kind of episode. And with everything going on in that time of year with Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, and a lot of family time, I think a lot of shows get lost in the shuffle there, and so I think it’s good to take a pause. And narratively, it’s gonna make things hit a little bit harder. And people will know what I’m talking about when the season launches."

Like no one would ramble like this if it was just an executive decision, like he could've just said something about the team wanting to polish stuff instead of a diatribe about how mid season finales are the greatest thing ever.

I like the show, it's not insulting. But like are they just proving that omni-man was right? The maulers kept getting imprisoned despite being psychos and one of their last actions was launching a nuclear missile to save their own lives. That, plus everybody being overemotional buffoons. Pretty much everything fell apart after omni-man left. I'm not sure if anyone knows just how much danger there is.

The animation looks fine it's just they seem to be allergic to any sort of pzazz or style that other animations have. They just do the basic drawings, the look like convincing human figures, that's just that.

Fine? It's literally made by North Korean slave labor. Amazon is a trillion dollar company. Invincible is literally one of the laziest animation productions ever. They hired all these famous actors to voice the characters. Then outsourced the animation to a sanctioned country.

I mean, ,the Maulers have cloning tech/regeneration pods so their death means nothing aside, the Maulers DID capture the entire team of Astar heroes, and they did threaten to kill Oliver. I think his response was justified. Invincible was a little bitch ..

Sure the Maulers didn't kill anyone THIS TIME, but the baddies aren't fucking around.

You'd think a team of overworked chingchong animators would be able to get Deborah's eyes right in at least one frame...

Also rant, what's up with the power levels? Invincible is able to lift whatever, knock out guys 100 times his size, but can' pjnch out dome worms and gets knocked around by the Maulers?

Primordial creatures being tougher than average, Mark pulls his punches (for now), as shown in his fight against the Miguels from Cobra Kai, and later when Oliver doesn't pull his punches, despite being way younger and inexperienced than Mark.

Mark and Oliver both have a point about using violence to solve a problem, the issue is the latter is too young to understand that you save those killing blows for the people who actually won't stop. It was justified this time, but what if it's a random mugger or something similar?

The animation looks fine
To follow up with my previous statement. I should've said art direction. Like if you were to take each individual frame and judge that.

This is supposed to be a young woman. She doesn't look ugly and registers as a woman, but there is absolutely no flattery at all. Compare this with batman the animated series.
