I do have to wonder now how they will develop Nolan’s relationship with his former family, now that, despite having been rebuffed by Debbie and such, he is still going to great lengths to try and atone for everything he’s done.

Heck, the scenes showing him dealing with all the guilt he has over everything he caused were very sobering to see. I do have to wonder if he’ll ever be at the very least accepted, if not forgiven or be back together, with Debbie in the show, given how she still hates him for understandable reasons.

From the way they're going, it seems they'll just be making him a forever apology cuck. Things have gotten way too melodramatic lately. Yes, yes. Nolan killed a lot of people. Now can you fuckers deal with the universal genocidal threat?
 
I have a good feeling that the actual reason they changed Tech Jacket's Gender is because they want their own Peni Parker.

It was the only way that Mark could beat him.
Yeah but no it always looked retarded in the comic and having it animated only made it look more retarded as a man who visibly looks like he's twelve times stronger than Mark struggles to remove the twig arms clamped around his throat and then uses his razor sharp blunt palm slash to cut Mark's gut open instead of fucking cutting his arms off and then Mark revealed he quite literally had about 5 times the guts a normal person has by simply refusing to run out of intestines.

Acting as if she was justified in her actions at the end & Mark was in the wrong, relationship-wise. Having other characters (like William) chastising Mark for not revealing his deepest secret to some girl he's known for less than a year. I think the comment afterwards about "tasting her blood, again" fit that more. I just don't trust them (Kirkman & co.) not to be genuine in that stance.

The eve comment about the conquest fight, amber’s whole character, tech jacket being a girl and a man being surprised that she is one, along with mark being much more of a bumbling pussy in his social life than the comics, shows that the modern writing team has a small agenda.
This show treads an extremely fine line between making the female characters genuinely better (Rae, Debbie) and adding stuff that isn’t necessary whatsoever and is clearly to pander (amber, tech jackette, or that stupid annoying Kal-hor joke that repeats every season. It wasn’t even funny the first fuckin time)

This show is nowhere near as bad as marvel capeshit but sometimes they put in minor panderslop, ignoring the fact that the majority of capeshit fans are your average heterosexual/normative male. Who doesn’t give a fuck about any of this stuff.
 
I've been waiting for the guts scene all season. Glad it did not disappoint.

Well thats because at this point in the show 🤓 Marks power levels are SUPERIOR to Conquest, so Mark solos 🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓

In all seriousness power leveling only matters when you're writing a story. Its a story inconsistency more than anything else. A creative writer would figure out how to challenge Mark with bigger foes while also dealing with the street level guys on occasion. Theyd be better served copying the structure of spiderman story arcs than borrowing from the comics at this point.

Like how about a story arc where Mark has to investigate the murder of an old classmate, and he cant just use brute strength to figure it out. Maybe he goes to the police in his civilian identity and asks them about the case and they say its a low priority. Anybody who is creative can do things with this character, but then again this character was born out of a lack of imagination.

The human body has 30 feet of intestines, Viltrumite bodies could have more? Rule of cool says rip and tear. I hope Conquest bounces back from this one, ever since Nolan went soft Connie's been my favorite.

I’m pretty sure if Mark took some kickboxing lessons instead of moping around and lifting glaciers he would fold most other Viltrumites like laundry. Maybe he wouldn’t get literally disemboweled if he had actual hands, just saying.
I know it’s hard for comic nerds and animators to imagine, but a superpowered species who’s entire deal is beating the shit out of everything including themselves would have some wicked martial arts if the creators put in some effort.
It’s a nitpick compared to other issues, but c’mon man they live for thousands of years they have the time to master their primary weapon which is their bare hands.

I have no hatred for power-scaling, but too many people don't understand Mark 100% would have died without landing that very specific choke move. Conquest's very last embers of strength while on death's door were still enough to impale. Getting his face caved in meant a huge zenkai boost. Tired of hearing this fight used to claim Mark was "secretly holding back against Anissa" later.

That guy has balls of steel and unshakable principles. He chooses to be a burger flipper rather than accept filthy fake gold nuggets from his freak daughter and he calls out Mark's collateral damage without a shred of fear. He's like Amber but in reverse: his character makes no sense and the way he is written is completely at odds with the way the writers are trying to make us feel about him. A real life small-minded jerk wouldn't have turned down infinite money.

Everything about Debbie and everything about Nolan "turning good" is handled much better in the show than in the comic. He murdered their mutual friends with his bare hands and laughed about it afterwards. There's no apologizing your way out of that. He's still an egotistical douche and has yet to do anything that doesn't ultimately serve his own personal interests. He's more broken up about losing his comfy middle class family man existence than remorseful about anybody he killed.

Mark vs Conquest 2 was a more interesting and intense fight than the original, but the fight choreography and animation in general is hitting new lows.

idgaf about Tech Jacket being gender swapped and I genuinely can't remember a single thing about the original character, so I guess the cartoon version wins by default. (Many such cases.)

Legitimately, if the animators just watched some Muay Thai matches the fights would be a lot better because in outer space clinching makes the most sense.
I could sperg about alien martial arts forever, but overall with the show it’s ok enough in totality to hold my interest for the Viltrumite war but let’s be real it’s just weaker than it could be.
 
So I know next to nothing about the source material. Does the comic glorify Satanism and abortion too or was that shit added by Amazon because "fuck normal people and Trump?"

Well Eve murders her and Mark's kid through abortion without even telling him because "she was worried". Even though she has literally endless wealth and could effortlessly raise a child on her own on account of her literal fucking super powers.
Eve the sorta girl to get pregnant with a soldier's child and then abort it when he's away fighting.

I hate Eve so fucking much.

I mean I can sort see that. A child of the two most powerful beings in the universe could potentially be a world ending threat but I'm guessing the reasoning was less that and more "a child would cramp my independent girlboss lifestyle" crap.
