Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to me the more people hop on the Patreon/Kickstarter scammer train, the lazier their scams get. Worse, they are getting more and more blatant about how it basically boils down to "If I scream about oppression, you MUST GIVE ME MONEY!"

The sad part is that they have so many gullible saps willing to hand them money no matter how lazy their e-begging becomes. Even sadder is that this particular scammer isn't even bothering to give the slightest bit of token effort, and while I'm loath to compliment Brianna Wu, at least he's good at keeping up appearances to the unwashed.

No, HRT does not do that.
I've known and worked with and helped a lot of people who have undergone, or are undergoing HRT. It may slightly increase or decrease the intensity of your emotions, or mess with your sex drive, but it won't cause anything to happen that was not already happening to start with.

It's not uncommon for people undergoing hormone replacement to blame their issues on the hormones, but it's mostly a bunch of excuses. Standard hormones won't cause issues like that if you have already completed your first puberty. After a certain point in development it takes seriously hard drugs to mess with your brain to that extent -- the kind of drugs that can cause brain damage which can mess with your personality. Hormones are more subtle in their effects. Starting hormone therapy won't turn you into a hateful psychotic loser if you were not already one to start with.

Blaming HRT seems to be a crutch with a number of trans people who think they can use it to disguise the fact that they've always been crazy and or jerks.
But there may be a kind of placebo effect going on. If someone who is inclined to be a jerk -- but has kept it hidden in their current gender -- starts a gender transition, they may find that the sudden change in their lifestyle allows their inner jerk to come to the surface. When someone confronts the jerk about their bad behavior, they'll probably blame it on the pills, not themselves.
