Getting approved for Bariatric surgery is not some monumental feat as long as the patient weighs less than 450lbs. TLC makes it seem like a grueling process for entertainments sake but depending where the physiological evaluation can be shoddy at best, having an obesity related health condition is required, and meetings with dietitians can be hit or miss.
If she could get under 450 ALR would be approved no problem. But she always stops at 470ish and immediately starts gaining weight because she likes being 500lbs.
I think a lot of discussions are about Amber getting bariatric surgery. Even if we discount the psychological clearance, she would not pass the physical one. Amber was told repeatedly that she has sleep apnea, and would need to be treated for it. I am sure that other issues will crop up. She does not have the money. The surgery alone is $26k, but tests and other costs will need to be paid above this. She has shown no retrain in spending and Jade is not made of money too. She had already seen at least 3 surgeons and she could not get the surgery. I am not sure why she is seeing another one to be told the same thing. The only place she could get the surgery with no question asked is Mexico, and I am not sure she could afford it either.
