I am only slightly less of an old, but my school offered Home Ec as an elective, of which it was one quarter, along with shop and intro music/art. Not compulsory, no room for it if you took music and a language.

I've got nearly 2 decades on Amber, I think, and I never did Home Ec. Idr whether my high school even had it. We had shop, so maybe home ec was an option, too, but shop it was populated almost exclusively by students pursuing a vo-tech route and required of no one. If there was a home ec class, it was not at all required.

In middle school, home ec might have been a quarter elective, but I took typing for that kind of practical class (unironically one of the most practical classes I ever took, even though it was in pre-computer days and no one know had any idea how useful it would be...but I digress).

So as a healthcare professional who is on the shot for PCOS, I can tell you that anyone who isn't willing to do the work isn't going to lose much of anything. I've lost around 70 elbees, reversed my prediabetes, and normalized my cholesterol. Genuinely, the first two days after my injection, I have to force myself to drink protein shakes just to have something in my stomach. The idea of eating the way she does the day after a shot is absolutely mind boggling. Sometimes I get nauseous just drinking a whole bottle of water on those days. It's sickening that she's able to ignore that and eat through it.

Anyway, I give her another week on Ozempic. It's a shame, if she could just stick with it and lose about 50 elbees on it, it would jumpstart her motivation to lose weight. But she's an addict, and she doesn't want to get better. She just wants her next fix.

I do think that Amber weighs what the scale says. Her age is why she looks so big now at 500lb compared to 500lb years ago. She is 34 and is in menopause (not taking her meds). Women in menopause start to carry their weight in their abdomen instead of the hips and thighs, and you can tell on Amber. Gravity is doing its job and bringing all that fat down, I mean look at her face, it's sliding.

Amber also moved around so much in school and admittedly didn't attend a lot of it. I doubt she took a home Ec class. Home ec classes also do not equal knowing how to make basic foods. Amber is a shitty cook because she's lazy and it's not about how the food tastes but the act of eating.

She did lose about 50 pound during her first go around. She was down in the 460s, quit, then fatted right back up. If she had stuck with it, gotten into an exercise regimen, she'd be in the low 300s right now.
