If ambers mom really did know everything, a mom who loves her kid will go get them from harm. I think amber used her mom as a way to triangulate Emily and make her bend the knee but Emily just wanted her gone and wouldn't partake in the messed up situation unfolding before her. Classic BPD/Narc bag tactic of literally cornering someone first and then crying that the person reacted. I don't feel bad for Amber for being "abused" in that case. It's just as abusive as if someone started hitting her for no reason.
