I can see saying that about a best friend in front of your S.O. when you've been together for YEARS, but to say that shit after just being together for a year? You're still in the honeymoon stage and wanting to impress your s.o., not push them away with little jabs like that.

Amber's relationships are different from normal ones. One year in an Amber relationship is ~3 years in her head. With Destiny specifically, Amber mentioned how they talked every day, every hour with her on that chat app (even going so far to shower with the phone nearby and falling asleep together). Then, when she met her, they immediately moved in and spent every day together. Same with Becky.

Normal couples for the first year don't immediately move in together and spend every waking moment with each other. They have some time away from each other in order to freshen up and still impress them and keep up appearances. For Amber, the honeymoon stage is probably the first 2-3 months, so she gives up after that. U-haul lesbians.

On the topic of that, her constantly squawking about "unless you fight constantly with your S.O. it's not real love" is also really weird because it's such an emotionally immature way of looking at relationships and really speaks to her need to control how people behave. I used to think it was because of how her parents were when she grew up and that's all she was exposed to, but she mentioned that they got divorced, so obviously that should have been her first sign that fighting is bad.
