Hadn't watched much of her her in many months until last night - the well written summaries available here summarize her uploads but in a much more erudite fashion.
Her last video with 100k or plus number was November, 3rd & currently, she's very lucky if she breaks 60k for any vid. Viewers are fickle & the Day of the Death Fat has come & gone - unless one has something extraordinarily unique about their content or how it's presented. Her content is more aptly described as repetitive non-content & she could do a video standing on her head & most of the audience would resume their regular yawning after 2-3 of those.
A tad too smug when insisting she's not the same person she was when she started - "personal growth, yada, yada." Personal growth typically requires some life experiences - the age period covering her tenure on YT typically involves a LOT of opportunities for growth. People graduate from college or training program, eagerly enter the world of work & while many learn the typical faux pas the hard way, they DO learn. Not Amber - too busy tripping over her own rationalizations & excuses to appreciate an opportunity for growth.
One way young adults display growing levels of age appropriate maturity is by demonstrating recognition that negative experiences often offer the most valuable learning opportunities, especially if one can humble themselves, take their lumps & not repeat their error. That an apply to any of the typical young adult milestones - setting up their own home, marriage or its equivalent, making decisions about having children, entering & progressing through the job market, a growing circle of friends & acquaintances with POVs that can quite different from one's own. Other than a small number of fairly short term relationships & some short term & pretend jobs which she failed spectacularly, she's doe bugger all.
Change? Lasting change generally results from personal decisions & owning one's behavior & Amber is still looking for external guidance & influence... in the same way she looks to others to tweak aspects of her "personality".
Call centers can be ruthless in their demands of employees - they eat their young. As others have mentioned, she's incapable of meeting requirements. They simply won't tolerate an employee calling in sick because... "muh mentalz". She'd better bloody well meet her quotas, her timings, (doubt she can hurple to & from the bathroom at the speed required) & NOT have more than the allowed number of calls have to be escalated.
Clicking on dislike - her insisting that's a "power trip" tells us more about her than she can come close to grasping about those who engage with her. I've no doubt she feels 'power' when she hits dislike but most YT viewers use it properly - to indicate there's something about the content or its presentation they don't like.
She doesn't see toxicity in Chantal - of course she doesn't. While their respective ability to grasp various things may differ on some individual points, they essentially share the same mind set about a lot of things. Chantal is more blatantly repulsive & overtly bratty; Amber almost, sort of hides her brattiness & she's nothing close to gross as Chantal or as openly careening out of control. Chantal has the advantage of being more entertaining but definitely in a horrible way.
Lovely malapropism - her intro "resignates" with her.
Today's video - her weight "loss" means she's still chowing down on roughly 2,500 calories a day on average. Meeting her December weight goal would necessitate her sticking to an average of 1600 calories a day over the month of December - not gonna happen; she still doesn't amorphously 'fear for her life' enough to stop the baby steps bullshit. "I know where I went wrong - yet each & every cycle, she makes the same erroneous CHOICES. 1.something lbs. down is not weight loss, not at her size.
Loves today - NEW month, NEW week... she's all about the planning of fresh starts but sucks at even the most basic level of follow through.
Much solitary holiday sadz, much "alone"liness... she never heard of phone calls, Facetime, Zoom, texting? Or were her attempts at reaching out ignored or openly rebuffed?
