I forgot to add the main reason Amber fails this shit too is her ideas are portions are insane. She eats food in multiples which is an instant no-no. Any dietician, nutritionist, or therapist will tell you that when curbing that behavior to avoid food that can be in multiple portions like dumplings, cookies, etc. it's because self-control is what you have to learn to develop over time.

Some insurers don't even require that, but pre-op testing can take up to 3 months because it often requires clearance from other specialists. I've never heard of a surgeon requiring a food diary. That's the job of a dietician. They will only "drop you" if you can't get clearances. Plus you generally don't even see a surgeon until those clearances are done. You might see them once (not always though) but most consults will be with other practice staff eg, general practitioner, dietician, exercise physiologist etc.

Some surgeons don't even require any weightloss, as long as the patient doesn't gain weight during that time.
