What really is middle class is very hard to define for Americans today, much harder than it was 30, 20, even 10 years ago. The wealth disparity here is ridiculous. The wealth of the 1% has had insane growth, whereas the middle class has either seen their jobs eliminated to fund that growth (factory jobs moved overseas for cheaper labor), or their wages haven't been increased in a very long time (service jobs like store clerks, waiters, etc.) Defining "middle class" is made even harder because there are so many other factors that contribute, the area of the US someone lives in, whether they're city/suburban/rural, whether they're married, if they have children. For example $30,000-$40,000 a year where AL lives, southern US/Kentucky, will let you live pretty well. On the coasts, that amount is about enough to get your bills paid consistently. Based on figures from a job I used to work at, if you make $100,000 a year you're considered "upper middle class." If you make $250,000 a year and up, you're considered "upper class." So a wide range for the "middle class" in the US could be considered $50,000 to $75,000 a year.

that's why my boyfriend, even though all of his friends and netwrok is in La, is refusing to move over there. He is living a comfortable life and I am very happy for him.
That being said, those figures are no where near being rich where I live, wealth dispersity is also ridiculous and the money is being played with, within a certain group of people. It is very sad.
Something that I noticed about US is how cheap everything is compared to other places I have lived, it's crazy cheap over there, I can see how it is a dream for some people to migrate there.

I'm surprised so many people think so little of Destiny's ability to speak for herself. I think Destiny does a pretty good job of thinking for herself, at least from what little I've seen from Amberlynn's point of view. And that's with my personal belief that Amberlynn paints Destiny in a bad light. I think if anything, Destiny has been incredibly distant lately, especially on YouTube. She used to make regular, long appearances in every single one of Amberlynn's videos and she's hardly been in any of the last dozen she's uploaded. From an outsider's perspective, Destiny has been drifting and Amberlynn is trying hard to hold on. That would also explain why Destiny has changed her facebook status, but Amberlynn doesn't want to officially say it. Destiny is okay with it, she's made the decision. Amberlynn doesn't want it to be true, so she's just going to pretend it isn't. Destiny might have bought her the phone case on snapchat, but when? My guess is, a few days/few weeks ago and she's just now sharing it because she wants to maintain the illusion that she's with Destiny and her life isn't crumbling around her.

Makes me think of the Christmas video where AL showered Destiny is presents like a parent would if they were trying to buy their kids love. ok couple of theories here:
As for money, I think they must get financial help from D's family. Theres no way they do it on their own, especially if at work they only make 11 an hour. That could factor into some recent "depression" and issues, perhaps D's parents didn't know AL quit and is now unable to really contribute much to the financial situation, but due to this whole ordeal they now know and are unhappy about it.

If D and AL actually broke up, it would make sense that AL is pretending like they're together. As much as AL loves ass-pats she hates to admit she's wrong. And in this situation, if they broke up she will ultimately look like the bad guy, even if she was the one dumped. So I think she's either holding it off until she thinks of good enough excuse and lie to make her sound like the victim, or shes pretending like everythings okay because she knows at this point people are not being very sympathetic to her, and she has to lie to herself to get by. idk just a theory.

If they didn't actually break up it's more than likely that D changed her info not because shes afraid of getting fired but because she's tired of coworkers coming up to her saying "your girlfriend wont stop messaging me about work" or "i saw your gf's video she's crazy" or "how do you live with her have you seen the way she treats you" or "your gf is a liar" etc etc it goes on and on. I'm in the 'Destiny can do better' boat. It's not hard for us casual observers to see how D has changed since AL moved in with her. My chips are on Destiny's family realized this and after spending the holidays with AL did nothing but talk shit behind her back and try to convince Destiny to break up with AL, an unemployed wanna be youtuber. I would say AL is more dependent on Destiny who has less to lose. No proof, all speculation, but here's to hoping things work out for Destiny.

They're both terrible in different ways, but Destiny doesn't deserve an emotionally and financially abusive cow like Amberlynn. I am hoping this is real, but like many of you, I'm skeptical because they do exhibit signs of co-dependency to the nth degree. Destiny has been openly disrespected on video - imagine what Big AL does behind closed doors. Like many of you, I doubt they have a sexual relationship even though they allude to it in social media.

We could see Destiny's affection for AL dwindle as AL got more involved in Youtube, and got more troll and negative attention. This is evident in her mannerisms, expressions, and behaviour. Plus, don't forget that journal entry where AL wrote "worried about Destiny", hmmm, worried about what? Destiny seemed to have fun with Youtube at first, even being happy to be in AL's videos - which was a contrasting point with AL's ex, Krystle. Now? She looks like she doesn't even wanna be in the videos. If she is in the videos, she doesn't seem as happy as she was before. It's caused a lot of fuckery in their home life, including with their family.

It really reminds me of when Matt used to look happy being in Kailyn's videos, even obliging to stupid memes like the girlfriend Q&A, but once he started seeing the drama surrounding Kai's life, he appeared in videos less and less.

So as of right now, Destiny has removed any mention of Amberlynn on social media. Amberlynn's having cryptic moments of posting that useless salad video (which she proceeds to just dump all the veggies in a bowl, not washing them, including those shit-infested mushrooms), and that fuzzy phone case from Destiny. Amberlynn has also been ignoring direct question relating to this speculated breakup.

It can go many ways. It's either, or a combination of:

1) The breakup is real. Amberlynn is in denial and trying to save face by trying to create an illusion nothing is wrong. Although this is contradictory to AL's tweet about "I'll never be whole again" ... if she wanted to lie about the breakup and pretend everything is ok, why did she make this very bait-ey type of tweet?

2) Attention ploy. Amberlynn has noticed her views going down and wanted to go out in a blaze of glory like Trish Paytas, hoping she can get views from the ensuing trainwreck.

3) A Distraction. This breakup is a distraction from that current drama related to her work and Lisa Hoffman. For Canadians here, it reminds me of that omnibus scandal with the Conservative government. In order to take heat off of that, they used the media to focus on getting rid of the penny so the Canadian public would focus on that instead of all the shitty bills in the omnibus being passed. This is exactly what's happening here, if this were the true scenario.

I don't use much social media and never changed any satus about a relationship, not because I am above it but I have not used facebook in years and I don't see the need to have anything on on my private instagram bio other than my name because everyone following me there, is a friend and knows me. I do however post pictures of people I am seeing if It fits and they are comfortable with it.
My best friend called me the other night, crying, told me she broke up with her girlfriend of 2years and this is SERIOUS, I asked her how do you know "this is it?", cauae she kept saying "this is it, this time it's serious", the ONLY REASON she had was that her girlfriend removed her from her instagram bio within minutes and she MEANS it. I told her well that's pathetic and if instagram was that validating of something between you two, you gotta be happy it's over after a stupid fight. They got back together the next morning.
I am a 90's kid myself and I pitty those who can be manipulated this way, and so in shockkk how can you break up with a longtime partner and the first thing you do is to try to hurt them by such stupid acts. But this happens way too regularly, I can see how it works and how it means so much to people and validates their feelings about eachother in the eyes of others.

Yeah, powerlevel here, I am older as well. Social media life was not the life I grew up with (thank GOD FOR THAT) but yes it can be used to manipulate in a rocky relationship. They may have had a fight and Dustin got mad and changed but I also feel for someone like Dustin to do that is major. AL is more the one who would do it.
