I don't think the Rarity-smooshing story is true. However, I absolutely, 100%, unequivocally believe she would and have thrown tantrums about food where she would immediately prioritize her mildly-empty stomach over all three pets.

She pretty much did this when she left Twonks at home shaking and in pain to go to Chilis, it still makes me mad at the internet to this day
(But she got her some joint and muscle treats so that totally made it all better)
