I'm very very very behind and I don't know much about the cancer era, is it official that she had (pre)cancer or is this the Nth self diagnosis to cover up something way less serious? The pictures are the stuff of nightmares.

If you have cells that are starting to turn cancerous they will give you the option of if you want them to just remove those cells, but with no guarantee they'll be able to get all of it, so the cancer might still progress and there'd be a lot more aftercare with you having to keep a good track of your periods and stuff. Or they offer to yeet everything in a scorched Earth move that if you yeet the whole thing, you don't have to worry about the cancer, with the trade-off being no kids ever.
The women I've known have this done all had kids already, I'm sure doctors were more hesitant to yeet Ambers' since she was a young woman who apparently wanted kids. Meaning that she prioritised being lazy with her health over having a family and insisted on the removal. Fortunately for any kids she won't be having.
