Food stamps have changed now. Big gay Al is considered an ABAWD (Able-bodied adult without dependents). To qualify you have to either volunteer or work a minimum of 80 hours a month and that's for $194 a month.

Also, her slipped discs are probably a self diagnosis as she probably has never had a CT or MRI? She's a narc and they often just jump to wrong conclusions. Or just make things up.

In many cases, you don't need years of anything for SSDI, it depends on the medical condition. A person newly diagnosed with stage 4 cancer can get approved within a couple weeks, based on the oncologists recommendation and the scan that diagnosed them.

Mostly, she needs a doctor to say she's disabled, can no longer work, and why. Unfortunately, obesity is on the list of disabilities so she could game the system as its obvious she has it. The back pain would only be a contributing factor, not the reason.

They do take into consideration your former job, so working at a call center is something even a fatty can do. If she'd been a baseball coach or teacher or something where she was on her feet and could no longer do that, they might approve her at least temporarily until she could get retraining. But for her job, I bet she gets denied.

If they don't approve, she can file for an appeal.

Considering that Kentucky is one of the fattest states, they may require a higher burden of proof for an obesity diagnosis- otherwise half the state could be on it. .

Disability is also one of those things you pay into, like social security retirement. The more you have paid into it, the more you can take out, up to a certain cap. So even if she gets it, I bet it's just a couple hundred bucks since she doesn't have much work history.

If she is applying, I vote no on her getting it.
(Seems to me that if she can film daily videos of her going out to eat and shop then she can work in a call center and so she should be denied, but they don't do investigations when you apply, they go with the doctors diagnosis. She's clearly obese, and she has been to a doctor to know she has a slipped disc. I still think she'd get denied though-she can work.

Unfortunately a short time later the cancer returned and even with the doctors saying she was terminal at that point and a lawyer filling out all the disablity paperwork she passed away 6 months later without ever being approved. So if this is the road Amber plans on going down I hope she is aware it's going to be awhile before she ever gets an answer, even then they will most likely deny her at first and she will have to hire an attorney. A family friend with similar issues as Amber has been denied several times. They are cracking down which is great because people are always looking to scam the system but it sucks for people who legitimately need it and have to go so long without it while fighting to prove they aren't a scammer. I personally believe Amber is in pain, however I think it's an issue thousands of people deal with everyday who get up and go to work.

She asked for a fast review, which they did and She was approved in two weeks. So this is what I meant by it being different in each state, which is unfortunate. I am really sad for your loss.

I completely agree with you that it should be for people who really need it. Although, in a sense it's not full tugboat because you do have to pay in and you can't take much out if you have had a short working career. But I think it's unlikely AL will actually get disability.

She has mentioned a doctor, but I also know one of these fat cows mentioned a chiropractor. She'll have to do better than that if she wants to go by her back pain. If she's going by obesity, I can't say much about what the criteria are.

Any doctor worth a shit would tell it to her straight, lose weight, get gastric bypass and go to psychical therapy and do yoga and light weightlifting. She does none of that, to me, shes entitled to nothing.

Being a bit of a pedantic asshole, but at this point AL is fucked medically for life. Her body will never 100% recover. She would absolutely improve by losing weight, but she's always going to have issues related to her health choices (or lack of them).

I have some sympathy for people who grew up not learning how eating works. I didn't. But once you hit twenty, you are developed enough and have enough resources open to you to figure your shit out. If you don't change, that's on you. You're right, preventable.
