I'm dead serious. Do you think AL, Dusty and Co. would recognize poor eating habits in their pets? They have no idea what a healthy pet looks like, so they won't notice a malnourished appearance OR abdominal swelling. Hell, they'd probably think that swelling is what a dog is supposed to look like. I've had people accuse me of having malnourished dogs because they weren't fat (:powerlevel: they were bird dogs that were actually used for bird hunting. They were in fantastic shape and ran a lot :powerlevel. They wouldn't notice if their dog is pale. They themselves probably have horrifying shits, so if their stool is dark they wouldn't know that's a bad sign, and if the dog is constipated then all they'd do is probably be happy they don't have to even pretend to worry about having to clean up. If the worms don't migrate toward the lungs, it's not like the dog is going to keep them up at night. If their pets are lethargic, then they just don't have to worry about walking/exercising them... or dealing with them while trying to put on makeup or something. It's good to them.

Well said! I also hate that she/they don't take the fact that a dog died because they "didn't have time to take it to the vet" as an indication that maybe, just maybe, it's not the right time to own a dog. But no, they get two new puppies?! What the fuck? They could get a low effort pet...or adopt an elderly dog that's perfectly happy to just lie around all day. But then again, that dog would require some vet check-ups and they've proven to be too lazy to do that so it would just die on them within a few months too.

It is not preference driven at all, IMO.

I didn't know how to say this, you just said it six ways to Sunday. She doesn't seem interested in anybody as a normal person would be - crush, infatuation, wanting to get to know them, etc.
I wouldn't say she's not a lesbian, but I wouldn't say she is one, either. She seems to pull whatever card is most appropriate for the situation. Lesbian means a place to live? Sure, why not.
