Okay, so I'd never seen either of these videos from 2013, but it's more annoying inconsistencies and some (most likely) ridiculous over embellishing. Highlights:

- 1st CONTRADICTION: She again implies she was in foster care from 9-18, not 8-18. Which is it, Amber?

- Not only was SHE a drug baby, but claims that her mother took drugs while she was pregnant with her youngest brother

- Claims she saved her brother's life when he was choking because a curtain string got into his crib and wrapped around his neck.

- She was the "mother" who had to take care of all her siblings. This is common for older kids in families with unstable situations, and I'm sure she played a part in helping, but she makes it sound like her parents were so wasted all the time that she literally had to raise them herself.

- Claims that, when her brothers were put into close adoption, she was such a motherly figure in their lives that she felt like "her own children were being adopted."

- 2nd CONTRADICTION: In her "MY MENTAL HOSPITAL EXPERIENCE" video, she mentions that the 6-month trail period was when she was in highschool, and in this video says it was when she was 12. And it isn't like ALR's parents had 2 different trial periods, because ALR says that she was sent to a mental hospital during it--and she was only sent there once. So which is it, AL?

3rd CONTRADICTION: Mentions that she was diagnosed with depression at 10, and not 9. Which is it, AL?!

- Also: the first mention of the Kasey drama! Claims Kasey's mother hated her (likely) claims K's mother's boyfriend threatened to kill her several times (unlikely) and she was "abused in several different ways."

I just watched Urgent Care!

Destiny goes to the ER for heartburn. Oddly enough this video was a week before when that avocado literally ruined her life. It's full of Amber's fake crying and concern for Destiny, telling how she's an E.R. girl and she convinced Destiny to go there. (turns out it was acid reflux) Anyway, watching it made me think that Amber was jealous of Destiny getting all that attention in the E.R., so even though her cut wasn't all that bad, she made a huge of deal of it so she could go to the E.R. too and be the poooooor wittttle babyyyyy instead of Destiny. If her cut were that bad would she really have needed to stop and finish making her salad before they go buy gauze? It's like she had to choose between her two favorite things, eating and going to the E.R. Eating won.

Let me clear this " self diagnosis " while in Oklahoma up , after a verbal argument between my mother, sister and Amber , Where Amber's disrespect had overflowed and she was put into her place by them both. Amber may have felt anxious during this , even went to the ER for " Pains in chest " afterwards. In my opinion it was for attention , I know BIG SURPRISE right ? But that does not mean she was diagnosed with Anxiety. Ive noticed Amber loves to wear many " labels" ... often wondering the vitality???

I'll try not to rattle about everything I know about this story, but first off, there is no long term in patient psych unit at the hospital she was at (St Helena, the only unit in the town she said she was sent to.) she said in that video that people carved into the wood how long they were there and they were there for 'MONTHS.' That's not possibly bc they aren't long term. 2nd- she mentioned being with males and female of all ages. Again, if you've ever worked on an inpatient unit you know they separate by ages and gender. She goes on and on about people being admitted at night and she just slept through it. Again, impossible to have someone get admitted to your room and you don't know. The real gem was the girl masterbating saying 'amberlynn' whole time btw. 3rd- she says she was admitted there when she was like, 15, when she was on a 'trial period' with her parents. This just doesn't add up bc she said the trial period was when she was 13, and another Time she said she was even younger during the trial period. 4th- she was around 25 when she made that video. She said they had a clause in place about her not being able to have weapons for 10 years after discharge but 'couldn't remember what the rule was,' but said she would be immediately sent back if she ever had weapons. Again, she got discharged from there around 15-16, meaning this would still be in effect when she filmed the video but when I asked her about that rule on Snapchat she wouldn't answer me and then blocked me.

It's such a shame bc all it does is fuel the mass misconceptions surrounding mental health care here in the US. Yes, it's massively flawed, but it's nothing like she described in that video. When I listened to this video it sounded like a pack of lies....from her not knowing who anyone was(medical professionals who not introducing themselves) and not knowing what was going on to the child forcibly being given a shot right in front of her. I believe Amber co-opts others stories to embellish her own. That's something pathological liars do. Also the great writer doesn't seem to understand what plagiarism is.

Those are strong claims to make on the internet that you and her mother should be aware of, if it's true or not. Also, Amber says she had to practically raise her brothers because her parents were passed out all the time, but it was my understanding that they did meth, not heroin...

Anyway, she claims to have saved her baby brother's life after he was caught by his neck in the cord from the miniblinds. I call bullshit because she said he was purple and crying, if he was purple he wouldn't have been crying, and why didn't she call 911? It honestly made me think Amber did this to the baby on purpose to come out looking like a hero. Has she ever abused children or animals?

On the topic of ALR making her stories sound like plotlines straight out of a movie, the whole Kasey situations reminds me of an actual IRL story that was later made into a movie.

It was a case around this one girl called Sylvia Likens who made friends with this one group of kids and slept over at their house then, for some reason, her parents asked the mother of those kids to watch Sylvia and her sister, which later turned into rampant abuse and later ended in her murder. One of the motives was apparently that the mother was jealous of this little girl, who still had all her beauty and youth and didn't have 5 children to look after.

I'm honestly wondering if she knows about this case or not, since she has a (very limited) criminal justice background, but since she wasn't very passionate about it and I'm not sure if this specific case would ever be covered in class, I doubt it. But it just really makes me think. She wants so badly for people to think she was abused and hurt and struggled so much, I'm sure if she knew about Sylvia, she'd be jealous.

It's honestly disturbing how badly she wants to exacerbate her own trauma and abuse. Telling people she was raped, telling people she was in high-risk mental facility, telling people that all her family did was abuse and abandon her. Telling people that she was born addicted to serious drugs, romanticizing all this genuinely fucked up trauma that you wouldn't wish on anybody. But she wants it for some reason.

She reads too much YA romance with traumatized white girls being swept off their feet and coddled by everyone and going off to live perfect lives in the end.
