She still has youth on her side. The young body can take a lot of punishment early on. She's ten years younger than Chance, I think.
But time is only on her side if she does something about it. Even now, the first broken bone, the first skin infection is the beginning of the end.
By 35, Amber could weigh over 600 lbs. her diabetes will be in full bloom, she'll be close if not bed bound, and for sure on a c-pap. By 40, if she makes it, her heart will be huge and flabby, never to return to normal and her circulatory system will be shot. If alcohol plays a role, her liver will be in trouble too-fat and booze aren't friends to the liver. Her skin will be plagued with infections any one of which could kill her-especially since she refuses medical care.
My guess? With no changes? She'll be dead by 48. Maybe I'm being generous. I've known a few deathfats that made it to 50 but hadn't started eating as early as Amber.
Even if she lost weight and got down to 150, her lifespan will be shorter. She's at risk for cancers, she'll have to have that excess skin removed to prevent inventions, her heart and lungs have already worked overtime. Her knees and feet are messed up. But she might bring her lifespan up to 68. (Most women live to 80)
My guess, since she so unwilling to see it, to go to doctors, to take care of herself, she'll be dead by 46. And she'll probably spend ten years of that in bed, since the only thing keeping her walking (when she's not hiding on a scooter) is her young age.
