Rate me autistic or disagree, but making your pet obese is abuse in my eyes. You control their food and many animals will eat themselves to death if you allow them. Chihuahua are supposed to be 8 pounds at most with their ideal weight being 6 pounds. Twinkie looks to be about 15 pounds, possibly more. I can't really tell if she's naturally large for a chihuahua because using Amber's gigantic mass for scale doesn't help. She's like the dog equivalent of Amber's weight. Remember the shitshow of Rarity's spaying or this current nails debacle, image what will happen if Twinkie gets diabetes.

People love their pets and they show their love by feeding them treats. Having a fat pet doesn't mean you hate your pet. I don't think Amber maliciously abuses and neglects her pets. She's just self-centered, stupid and immature. She prioritizes wants over needs and responsibility.

Edit: After I wrote my autismo out I remembered the Gracie incident. She's fully capable of being malicious towards pets as long as it's someone else's pet.

I think what is so frustrating about her neglecting her pets' needs is that there is no excuse for it. AL clearly makes decent money and has a mode of transportation. She brags about making 10k and seemingly has endless money for her own indulgences and it doesn't extend to her "furbabies". All the times her and Necky go out to get food, get food, get food, (did I mention get food?) and go to Wal-Mart, they could go to a PetCo or PetSmart and pay a nominal fee to have the critter's nails slowly trimmed back so the quick has a chance to recede and grow normally. Same with exercise. They both have ALL friggin day long and do nothing. As it was said, she neglects her own obvious health issues and is apathetic in general unless it is something hedonistic. So it's not surprising.

Cats groom themselves regardless of fur length. Once they reach their dotage they start to struggle and issues can arise, but otherwise they cope just fine.

Like everyone else on my 600lb life, she wants a quick, easy fix with no effort on her part. She wants surgery if it means she can do as she likes and magically lose weight. She doesn't want to have to lose weight to qualify for surgery, not does she want to diet and change her intake following the surgery.

I still don't get what your argument is, though. ACO explains that letting Twinkie's nails be that long forces her to walk differently, essentially it's the equivalent of a person having to walk around on their tiptoes. That's painful, especially if the animal is obese (No doubt Amber can relate). Anybody could say that to Amber and countless people already have. You don't need any education just common sense. But the idea is that Amber would give that statement more weight when a uniform is saying it to her. And even that is just a hope.

At the end of the day, she doesn't actually want to lose weight. She'd rather run her mouth than do anything about it. She's content with being a 500+ lb blob.

On the subject of Twinkie - I don't understand why they don't tie her up outside for a while so she can at least enjoy the fresh air safely and possibly run around if she wanted to. I'm not saying tie her up for hours, especially in the summer in Kentucky, but it seems like she only gets to go out for 5-10 minutes at the most when she goes out to potty.

Amber’s afraid of longterm commitment. She’s used to blaming her voracious gut (muh addicshun) and pretending it’s beyond her power to resist the gravitational pull of the fridge. Surgery would lessen the cravings, thus making her main excuse void. She’d have to completely change her life, from eating less to getting back on track career-wise. No more lying around, no more day-long TV binges, no more daily excursions to the mall in search of stickers. Amber would have to grow up.

Surgery does NOT lessen the cravings, that's the problem. It just makes it so that the body gets fuller much more quickly than normal. Eating the wrong foods will often cause vomiting and generally make the person feel like crap, but the cravings don't go away. There are multiple instances of people undergoing WLS who are so determined to eat the way they used to (because they neeeeeeeeed it) that they power through the side effects and eat so much that they stretch their stomach back to almost pre-surgery capacity.

I don't buy that she doesn't want to lose weight. She doesn't want to put the work in, of course, and she doesn't. But I think saying she doesn't, on any level, want to lose weight and theoretically become a 120 lb (or 199 lb, because her perspective is so distorted that she thinks that's skinny) dainty fairy gorl is a stretch.

I understand the arguments about her fat being a safety net, what she makes her money off of, etc. To be fair, there are a lot of complicated psychological processes at work here. I think AL has, however, first and foremost proved herself to be a raging narcissist. She finds beauty in herself at any weight, but based on those skinny shops of herself she retweets on occasion and her brief moments of relative sanity where she whines about how much weight she's gained, I think she would find herself more attractive if she were smaller. I also think the judgmental stares and comments she gets in public really bother her, though she doesn't talk about it often.

TL;DR Do I think she wants to be skinny/at least comparatively skinny to what she is now? Yes. But she's lazy and weak-willed with a couple mental issues mixed in, so she won't ever make the effort.
