There are ways for Becky to not be gaining quite so much weight even if she's still cucking to Amber's need to eat 3 meals out per day.

I think Becky has gained quite a bit, but she’s probably not eating the candy bars, pints of ice cream and cookies Amber has stashed around the house that Amber eats on top of the meals out. So her gaining, while steady, may be slower than Amber. But she’ll get in Amber territory soon if she doesn’t stop it. She needs to learn that just because Amber bought a car, she doesn’t have to use it every day. Amber didn’t buy hER.

I doubt she pressures Becky to finish her plate. Once she’s eating, she’s concentrating on what she eats herself and how she can get more. She’s probably happy if Becky leaves some so she can take it home and eat it later. I doubt she finishes Becky’s right there, because she double-orders food and has dessert as it is. She still has to think if the server will notice. In her mind, he won’t know she eats more if Becky takes home leftovers-Amber often pretends not to finish her plate and takes some home too. Of course, all servers know that food won’t make it home and is not for a dog.

I knew an alcoholic couple who drank all day. For some reason, they felt like starting at 11:00 am was acceptable, but in reality, they always started at 9:00. They’d say stuff like “oh, we have company, how about starting with a drink today” and the other one would agree. Or whatever, there was always an excuse to start before 11:00 but in their head, it was proper at 11:00.

Amber has these games too. She goes to a movie early to make sure she gets a seat, but Gets there so early there is time for a meal. Or she’ll order double rice and a full Mexican meal with chips and ice cream but “oh, I’m so full, I need a doggie bag” and scarf that in the car.

The tricks they play are for the eyes of others, so they appear normal. But their partners usually are in onnit and figure it out. Or both.

I was thinking she wants Becky to gain so much weight it would be hard to go back to her old job. Necky said she could go back to her old job at anytime...who knows if that's true or not though. And noone was sure if she did just a desk job or if she actually did wood work. Or have her gain so much it's hard to do any job and harder to leave and find someone else. Honestly the wear and tear on the car is even more reason for Becky to not gain weight. If Becky puts on too much weight, they’ll have to buy a trailer and tow Amber behind the car. They’re already pushing the cargo capacity.

I think it's a case of AL feeling less bad/guilty/ashamed of the food she eats when someone is eating with her. If everyone is eating, it's OK for her to (even though she's eating more). Eating by herself, even if Becky is there with her, puts a lot more pressure on her and her level of consumption, emotionally and socially.

I highly doubt it. Bitch can't even walk around while she shops and has to use a scooter, I can't imagine she could last longer than 10 minutes out in the heat while walking. She would have had to sit almost the entire time either forcing Becky to stay with her, or stay by herself while everyone else had a good time.

I'm not sure how long you've been watching, but Amber actually did buy Becky. When Amber moved in, Becky had a job and her own car. Now she has neither. She doesn't have to work or pay bills anymore, but in return she drives Amber to Walmart and to restaurants when Amber says so. When she's good, Amber rewards her with t-shirts, bargain bin DVDs, and children's coloring books.

Our gorl likes to travel with her blankets when she stays in hotels. They stayed at a hotel for pride. Before this gross dingy pink blanket, she used to travel with a gross black and white one. She would take the dingy pink one whenever they stayed at Becky's sister's house as well.
