I also just realized she said some of "your" favorite youtubers.... like she thinks everyone watches and likes all of the same channels she does. I sure don't recall ever hearing any of MY favorite youtubers talk like ignorant garbage, Amber. It's that it's changed in her YouTube career, in an area that isn't even that accented. You could move to the most Boston accent part of Boston, and if you're an adult nothing about you should change. Kids pick up accents pretty early, most of it before they can even speak.

And they might be tweaked a bit through some of adolescence, but you're not going to randomly start saying lahh when the rest of the ah and e sounds are still neutral.

I'm fairly certain we were making fun of her for saying "bolth" in the Dusty era. It may be the only authentic thing about her speech pattern. An incredibly valid point, I've known expats who have lived outside of their home country for decades and whilst their native accent is softened over time, they most definitely have not picked up local accents. <I think the only reason their native accent softened is because they dropped using slang from their mother country as well>.

Lets just chalk this up to Hamber trying to fit in some where as fat suffocates her brain of oxygen.

Yep, she is totally faking the accent, it's not natural for adults to completely change their accent just by living surrounded by people with different accents for a couple of years. Phrases and slang, yeah but not accents.

Kids can soak up accents easily though, like the young Syrian refugee with a strong Irish accent.
