I know it's been said before, and I've never actually read any of her stuff before..

But wow she is a bad writer. Especially for someone who calims that writing is one of their biggest passions. It does seem like something a teenager would write in my opinion, but we all know Amber has the mentality of a teen anyway, so it realistically could have been written at any time.

She's right- writing, even badly, is a harmless and wonderful outlet for all sorts of feelings and no one should feel ashamed of doing it even if they can't do it well. She should have been writing a lot more of her feelings and eating a lot less of them all along.

That goes for all the kiwis reading this too, don't be afraid to sing, write, or make art poorly. You don't have to be good at something for it to be healthy and therapeutic.

Also, if I had Young Dumb Honeybuns tattoos, I'd be a little more careful about criticizing bad art.

I MEAN, sure. Dance like no one's watching, but if you're dancing in public, expect criticism. People like Coleridge were subjected to scathing criticism in newspapers of the day for brilliance like Rime of the Ancient Mariner and likewise fellow greats like Keats, etc. Everyone is open to their art being critiqued when they do it in the public square. No one is exempted from it.

Adolescents generally produce shitty art. Has Amber's "art" improved? I submit not, see: rain and petals eavesdrop, therefore, it's all fair game.

Amateur attempts should receive a degree of grace, however, if one doesn't strive to become better at their self-professed passion, then they should be prepared to take a rotten tomato to the face. Many of them.

The problem with Al and her "writing" is her unbelievably exceptional massive ego about her own talent. She has said, many times, how gifted a writer she is and nobody could tell her any differently. Her favorite poet is herself, she has said. She has said over and over how writing is her "passion" and her dream is to be published one day. As is. Without any education. Without any training. Without even fuckin' READING anything beyond YA books and graphic novels. In this-as in all things-Amber is delusional.
