Yes, it is confusing. What does she means when she said “as a choice”? Someone is refusing her to take the medication? From her video, she clearly said that she could not refill her prescription and that was 2 weeks ago. She also said that she feels fine and is not sure if she wants to start again. For me, it seems like her choice. She wants to talk to her oncologist but I do not see any urgency here. I bet that this is a old video and she does not remember what she said.

I wonder whether it's to do with getting a prescription? When I was in hospital, I was prescribed painkillers and my doctor told me to get a repeat prescription from my GP if I needed any more. When I needed more, I had to see my GP to be prescribed the same pills - something to do with them getting the funding rather than the hospital.
So because Fatty likes doctor shopping, doesn't like being told the truth about her health, and doesn't like to pay her medical bills, maybe she's not registered with a primary care doctor? Also explains why she keeps visiting the ER rather than a primary care doctor. So she was prescribed her pills for a certain length of time, by her specialist, but now she needs to see her primary care doctor for more? So it's her fault, but she's trying to blame medical professionals yet again.
I know she 'claims' she takes anti-depressants etc, but a 'therapist' can probably get a shady doctor just to sign for her to get them. Makes all her mentulz seem even more suspect.

Also, I seem to remember Amber saying how her ‘nurse’ wouldn’t refill her Rx until she came in for a follow up. That was a definitive end point for amber. She didn’t explain why, but the tone was very ‘oh well, guess that’s over’ type of deal.
To the folks wondering about why Amber uses the ER and not a pcp? The ER is more dramatic when you’re recounting war stories of China Buffett’s and “abdomen pain“. The ER staff isn’t so concerned with obesity and issues that are obvi long standing. They care about immediate life threats. Immediate being a key component. The real definitive reason, IMO, is that as a cluster B diva, Amber will not accept help. She just will not. She will act around it for sympathy and ‘you’re so brave girl!’ Shit, but she won’t ever dig in an work. This idiot has or had cancer for Christ’s sake and gained weight thru the whole thing and to this day doesn’t have a regular doctor that knows her and Becky and is involved. Wtf.
PS- helpful tip for the newer folks to the fandom: Amber lies. She lies often. She lies about innocuous, inane, dumb shit as much as she does real shit. If you feel your heart strings getting pulled, look up some older vids on her channel and see if she doesn’t tell the same stories over an over with different twists and turns depending on who’s in the room. Point is, understand the animal you’re getting close to and never open the cage. Never.

In many countries, your GP would take care of this, but I am not sure in the U.S. Oncologists may not like to act as a GP for years and years with patients like Amber. I think that they have better things to do. Of course, Amber does not understand this.

My suspicion is that whatever doctor originally prescribed has been giving her refills as she asks for them, but eventually doctors do tend to want to do some follow-up. You know, get you in the office, have a look at you, run some tests, see how things are going, and then make adjustments as necessary. It was probably a situation where the doctor said, "if you need another refill, we need to see you first," and she just never went. Because Big Al very obviously does not give one single fuck about her health, and doesn't understand that failing to take her medications might not cause distress in the short term, but might really fuck her over in the long term.

Of course, if she was worried in the least about the long term, she wouldn't weigh 500+ pounds.
