I found this vid on yt: TWITTERGATE - Democrats Hire Twitter-Thug
Pretty wild:

View attachment 3984858

Edit - Apparently that vid explains why Neal was removed from Progressive PST in 2011.
The @GuerrillaWLogic and @mexicanfaggot accounts are still alive (though Guerrilla Logic changed his @ to remove the W), and I'd be willing to bet other accounts shown in that video are still around, too. Searching Twitter for the two @'s brings up a shit ton of old tweets and interactions with other old, still-alive accounts. After a cursory look-through of the search results, I can easily say that there were definitely Neal sock accounts swarming Twitter back then, and that Guerrilla Logic has made a lot of pedophilic tweets.

and that Guerrilla Logic has made a lot of pedophilic tweets.
He's also familiar with the Cwciki lore, And looking up the account this guy tagged is also connected to Neal Rauhauser.

You hit the nail on the head with that imageboard tangent. And the reason you don't see any mention of Kirtaner in that book is because he only decided he was the Founder Of Anonymous™️ in 2020 during/shortly after the George Floyd protests, and the only people that were willing to corroborate his story either weren't there and their word meant nothing (Fredrick Brennan), or coincidentally happened to politically align with him and/or have compromised motives for lending their credibility (Gregg Housh).
Real Anonymous died with Sean Carasov and fuck these poseurs.

I'll look to see if I could link any old Cwciki accounts or history of the Chris Chan lore to Neal's previous antics but in the meantime, I found this thread Webcoderz / Cody Webb started to be a bit interesting, He appears to be another former associate of Neal's who was also thrown under the bus a couple years ago and intimidated since.

Neal's LinkedIn from 2007:

1670107868471.png 1670107892912.png

I couldn't find archives for 2008 and 2009 but here's one from March 2010:
He mentions he got Lyme's disease in the summer of 2007 and was disabled for 18 months. To compensate he flooded DailyKos with his ramblings.
I wrote relentlessly on DailyKos during this time, almost a quarter million words. 110 of those diaries have been set down in the working notes for a book which you may see here: "http://strandedwind..org/2008.html"
1670108037107.png1670108071435.png

Archive of strandedwind..org/2008.html is a list of all the articles he wrote for DailyKos:

Almost a year later, Feb 2011:
He's proud to accounce "I'm the architect of Progressive Congress News, a policy oriented news collection and dissemination operation that serves Congressional staff and Progressive activists."
"I do similar sorts of work at ProgressivePST, where we provide social media consulting for Democratic elected officials and candidates, as well as Progressive causes. Our Twitter campaign presence software defines how such things ought to be done."

"If you're reading this because you're at an NGO and you want to know more about Progressive Congress News or the budding Progressive Study Group feel free to drop me a line. I'm nrauhauser on that gmail thing."
1670108161482.png 1670108258877.png

And then suddenly 5 weeks later, archived on March 18, 2011 he sounds bitter and it seems that he wants to be left alone:
1670108403264.png

So yeah, it seems that he did a fuckup and got booted.

I found a rather interesting blog from the guy who runs the Zile / Irontroll stuff, Dastardly Villains (https://archive.ph/xaAHo) Neal is apparently in touch with swatters or something and threatened McGibney with a visit.
1670110406309.png1670110491295.png

Here is also another thing I found on Irontroll, A chat log (https://archive.ph/PsVXI) from 2015. Under the guise of chr000t, Talks to Nachash and Schm00p from Doxbin over Brandon Darby being a swatter during the Weinergate scandal.

05:02:22 |@chr000t > this sarts with Swatgate – that got going in May, and on 6/25/2012 I asked a counter-terror SA I know in DC for a referal
05:02:22 | nachash > after the conversation is concluded
05:02:51 |@chr000t > So I wait two weeks, it was a busy time, then SA comes up with the name of the same fed that was Jen Emick’s contact
05:03:13 |@chr000t > I think our first email was 7/10 – 7/12 timeframe
05:03:34 |@chr000t > he was all about what I knew about Anonymous, and fishing for whether I was looking for a deal
05:04:06 |@chr000t > publicly it’s obvious I know Barrett, and that I used to talk to AnonyOps
05:04:19 |@chr000t > that’s about it, other than random IRC lurking, never used the same name twice
05:04:57 |@chr000t > I saw Kelly fighting with Emick, I got AnonyOPs to introduce us, this would have been around 6/25 – 7/1 timeframe
05:05:21 |@chr000t > we started talking swattings, she seemed to know a lot, told me three groups were doing it
05:05:38 |@chr000t > and she gives me a name to tell cyber SA – “UGnazi”
05:06:07 |@chr000t > I put that into an email on 7/17, cc: Kelly, it was part of the intro
05:06:21 |@chr000t > I totally forgot about the name, didn’t keep the email since it was minimal
05:06:36 |@chr000t > http://www.laweekly.com/2012-11-08/news/patrick-frey-swatting-patterico-deadly-game/
05:06:48 |@chr000t > that email turned up in here last night ^^^^^
05:06:50 | shm00p > she mentioned that UGNazi swatted?
05:07:04 |@chr000t > yes, she did
05:07:40 |@chr000t > So, some of those emails in there are me, trying to get Mike Stack (6/23/2011 swatting victim) to talk to feds about Pat Frey (6/30/2011 swatting victim, but I think his is faked)
05:08:04 |@chr000t > but I denied the 7/17 one – I didn’t save it, did not recall sending it
05:08:25 |@chr000t > I talked with SA today – he still had it, he notes the timestamp is an hour earlier than his
05:08:51 |@chr000t > I lived in eastern TZ when it was sent, he lives in eastern, when I moved I was still in eastern, and even now lappie still things it’s 11:08 PM
05:08:59 | shm00p > im just gonna say this
05:09:01 | shm00p > if he was swatted
05:09:07 | shm00p > he woulkdnt be crying like a little bitch about it
05:09:14 |@chr000t > So Kelly is in Texas, GMT-6, while SA and I were in GMT-5
05:09:31 |@chr000t > so, who was the source of that email? Not me, not the agent, pretty sure it’s Kelly
05:09:48 |@chr000t > the conversation in there is crazy Michele from New Jersey, Emick, and Welna is signing with his own name
05:10:09 |@chr000t > and Kelly fed them that email to set me up for attention from UGnazi
05:10:54 | shm00p > da fuk
05:10:57 | nachash > Why would Kelly stir that pot?
05:11:00 | nachash > She’s been asking me
05:11:03 | nachash > if I heard anything
05:11:06 | nachash > about SR doing any hacks
05:11:10 |@chr000t > Kelly’s SWAT story was: three groups out there, Captain Crunch Fucker is the only name I recall. She says one group has a really good voice mimic, I don’t know which one
05:11:23 | nachash > Captain Crunch
05:11:24 | nachash > as in
05:11:28 | nachash > the old-ass hacker?
05:11:30 |@chr000t > not Draper
05:11:35 | nachash > I was gonna say
05:11:35 | nachash > wat
05:11:43 |@chr000t > some kid who appended Fucker to the name, I never heard of him
05:12:23 |@chr000t > So she has a convoluted story about swatting activity, and I treat her as credible since she is all up in IRC all over the place
05:12:43 |@chr000t > but after a few convos about it, my dick is pulled clear down to my ankles
05:13:09 |@chr000t > you know how people say things that are loaded, then there is that weird pause, like the words are hanging in the air
05:13:33 |@chr000t > with glowing quotesa round them? She had a deep, personal interesting in turning my attention away from Brandon Darby
05:14:15 |@chr000t > She says her home address got swatted, fourteen year old gets held at gunpoint
05:14:29 |@chr000t > she doesn’t have police report or audio to compare, I have not pressed for it
05:15:01 | nachash > I have unredacted transcripts
05:15:08 | nachash > It happened
05:15:12 | nachash > Don’t have audio, though
05:15:15 |@chr000t > Pythorian figures out I had RiseUp VPN back then. We’re talking, I get another ‘words handing in the air’ from him
05:15:51 |@chr000t > about me being on RiseUp, then he talks about the RiseUp hosting of that remailer that was used for bomb threats at some Pennsylvania school
05:16:10 |@chr000t > is it official transcript image, or just text of the event?
05:16:18 | nachash > It’s like
05:16:19 | nachash > a scan
05:16:35 | nachash > I’d show you, but she asked me not to spread them around
05:16:54 |@chr000t > SO, both of them, fishing for info and repeatedly floating stuff intended to startle/dissuade/otherwise influence me
05:17:08 |@chr000t > I would like to have the scans, this is something I would give to SA
05:17:11 |@chr000t > and no one else
05:17:43 | nachash > Those scans
05:17:49 | nachash > are kinda my insurance.aes256
05:18:06 | nachash > But this shit did, in fact, happen
05:18:08 | nachash > I can tell you that much
05:18:11 |@chr000t > So, here is another odd thing. She goes on about needing to deal with a local agent, there in Texas. I got the same guy Jen got and it makes sense, I was in DC at the time
05:18:49 |@chr000t > all the time she is talking, do you trust this SA? What is he doing with Emick as a source? Very focused effort to insert doubt into that connection
05:19:30 |@chr000t > then Pythorian tells me alone, on a call, that he’s been in two conf bridges with multiple agents, and it was intenral affairs investigating my SA
05:19:35 |@chr000t > Jen’s SA
05:19:55 |@chr000t > I sat on that factoid for about a month, just checking things out
05:20:13 |@chr000t > break time – you guys have any questions? This is about 50% mark on the weird shit I have seen
05:20:29 | shm00p > just listening right now
05:20:45 | shm00p > i am wondering
05:20:46 | shm00p > though
05:20:55 | shm00p > why did she turn her attention away from Darby
05:21:05 | nachash > Who is Darby?
05:21:17 |@chr000t > not her attention – mine, she was trying to get me confused/lost/on someone else
05:21:17 | nachash > and what’s py doing listening in on fed confs?
05:21:35 | nachash > and why do you think bratty would leak your e-mail with her?
05:21:45 |@chr000t > Brandon Darby, paid snitch during 2008 Republican National COnvention, set two kids up for 24 – 48 months for fake bomb plot
05:22:12 |@chr000t > Same guy who worked on the Occupy Unmasked movie, with Lee Stranahan, and Stephen Bannon director
05:22:32 |@chr000t > this Darby dude is excellent match for swat caller voice, and the cirumstances totally point to him
05:23:01 |@chr000t > OK, act two of this circus
05:23:14 | nachash > Still doesn’t explain why py’s in on fed conf calls
05:23:56 |@chr000t > I tell SA in D.C. about the supposed internal affairs thing. He says maybe they want to hire me. I presume this is to put boundaries on what I do, fill up my time, keep me for upending this setup that is pointed at me, so I refuse.
05:24:19 |@chr000t > Next day I get moved from him to another SA. Don’t know his last name, I have email + phone stored for him under an alias.
05:25:24 |@chr000t > New SA is specificly focused on politics & online stuff, he’s not an intel analyst, he’s a special agent, but his job is odd, he doesn’t IA type stuff, trying to help others who are overloaded.
05:25:56 |@chr000t > So I don’t have this dude’s name anywhere, I have never told anyone, yet it’s turning up in those comments on LA weekly
05:26:58 |@chr000t > you guys dizzy yet?
05:27:16 | nachash > Why are you dealing with the feds in the first place?
05:27:21 | shm00p > a little yes
05:27:28 | nachash > Shit’s just a recipe for getting fucked over
05:27:45 |@chr000t > I am hacker, but not intruder. And I was getting fucked over with Swatgate shit.
05:27:55 |@chr000t > This was defensive.
05:27:58 | shm00p > agreed imo i keep my distance from anything related to feds. i dont even do anything illegal but im not trying to get caught up with any of that shit.
05:28:28 | nachash > Feds care more about convictions than the truth
05:28:34 |@chr000t > Anyway, this is SECOND TIME an SA I’m supposed to talk with gets their name dropped. First one was Baltimore cyber SA, they wanted me to come in 1/26 for a chat, I said no way.
05:29:07 |@chr000t > a month later same dipshits talking in that LA Weekly thread have got her name and they’re spamming it around Twitter
05:29:44 |@chr000t > So twice something that is never written down ends up in hands of crackpot from New Jersey
05:30:06 | nachash > Sounds like it isn’t your problem
05:30:15 |@chr000t > and crackpot is getting steered by @Patterico, swat victim #2, who went to Dallas FBI office from California on 23 Dec 2011
05:30:31 | nachash > crackpot = Mike Stack?
05:30:41 |@chr000t > dude is a county prosecutor, local FBI office says “shove off, you got no evidence”, so he goes to Dallas
05:30:58 |@chr000t > crackpot = Mike Stack and/or Michele Renda Savoca/Joanne Savoca Koy
05:31:07 |@chr000t > s/koy/Joy/
05:32:01 |@chr000t > I don’t know if he pick Dallas because of Barrett, because Allyn Lynd is there, or because they have ideological bias.
05:32:38 | nachash > I saw something
05:32:46 | nachash > possibly in that LA Weekly article
05:32:52 | nachash > about dallas having swatting case expertise
05:33:18 |@chr000t > So this Frey guy – he’s intimidating Nadia Naffe, and she’s a witness in several grand jury investigations for James O’Keefe
05:33:42 |@chr000t > Frey & Co. set up former NY-09 Congressman Anthony Weiner using teen girl sockpuppets
05:33:59 |@chr000t > and that was a paid hit because he turned in NY-13 Congressman Mike Grimm for extortion
05:34:15 |@chr000t > Frey hates me – I almost managed to stop them driving Weiner out of office
05:34:49 |@chr000t > and then last spring I stand guard over Nadia, get her Jay Leiderman as lawyer, he gets big civil suit
05:35:03 |@chr000t > logs come out, he’s been talking to Barrett Brown about me since summer of 2011
05:35:43 |@chr000t > then I get discovery from frivolous suit in D.C. on October 26th, it’s records of who is working with him, what they plan to do to set me up
05:36:05 | shm00p > “been talking to Barrett Brown about me since summer of 2011
05:36:14 | shm00p > screaming federal agent death trap detected /facepalm
05:36:42 |@chr000t > @Patterico was talking to @BarrettBrownLOL about him doing something to me, and then Frey would do something to Robert Stacy McCain
05:37:14 |@chr000t > keep in mind BB know very little about me, he went off the rails during Arab Spring, I stayed away
05:37:42 | shm00p > i imagined he was always off the rails because he was a fiending cokehead who cammed in the bathroom
05:38:00 | nachash > s/coke/smack
05:38:00 |@chr000t > he used to be less crazy, before he got e-famous
05:38:23 |@chr000t > anyway, so Frey has been after me for a long time, it’s because I got into HIS criminal shit
05:38:45 |@chr000t > he’s swat victim #2, except … no police report
05:38:51 |@chr000t > and the story keeps changing
05:39:19 | shm00p > imo im starting to think none of them even got swatted and they’re just trying to get people in trouble because they got their feelings hurt via internets
05:39:47 |@chr000t > no dude, first one was them trying to silence guy they left holding the bag for Weinergate
05:40:12 |@chr000t > then Frey’s is weird, because within 24 horus he boots Lee Stranahan as editor on his site, and voice of the swatter is Lee’s business partner
05:40:26 |@chr000t > then the ones in 2012 are obvious fakes
05:40:34 | shm00p > figured so
05:40:38 | shm00p > like the shit of Patterico
05:40:39 | shm00p > imo
05:40:40 | shm00p > that guy
05:40:47 |@chr000t > and clearly getting stage managed by Mitt Romney’s online campaign team
05:40:48 | shm00p > crys alittle too much bout it
05:41:01 |@chr000t > ^^^ totally not shitting you here, Romney’s guys were promoting swatgate
05:41:55 |@chr000t > Remember #OpCartel – Tom Ryan tries to intimiate Barrett, who actually talked about that stuff, and he tries to drag me into it.
05:42:26 |@chr000t > Then Mike STack/Michele Renda Savoca come up with SA’s name. Reason I was supposed to talk to SA? Getting Ryan booted from Infragard.
05:43:11 |@chr000t > At one point Kelly tries to minimize what Ryan did /w me & #OpCartel. “Oh, that was just social engineering.” “uhh, you realize we are kind of on the same team, right?”
05:43:29 | nachash > That’s funny
05:43:35 | shm00p > lol….
05:43:39 |@chr000t > Ryan’s a Staten Island resident – same place as former FBI agent turned Congressman who is facing extortion investigation
05:43:40 | nachash > Not in a ha-ha way
05:43:59 |@chr000t > and that investigation was set off by Weiner, and I stomp balls on the guys who were behind that every chance I get
05:45:10 |@chr000t > Texas residents: Barrett, Brandon Darby, Lee Stranahan, Dustin Farahnak ( part of FBI sting thing), Megan Broussard (looks like an “exotic dancer”, part of Weinergate setup)
05:45:41 |@chr000t > Sean Tompkins, who is likely @AnonKitsu, part of Weinergate, and has been seen repeatedly working with Michele Renda Savoca
05:47:19 |@chr000t > I talked to @AnonKitsu once, instant snitch meter spring breakage. Guy offers to break into some of this Savoca chick’s stuff for me
05:47:33 |@chr000t > he logs out convo, edits it, passes it out ot various rightwing shitheads
05:47:57 |@chr000t > sloppy, he can’t keep Kitsu & Tompkins separate, Tompkins knows things that I only ever shared /w Kitsu
05:48:01 | shm00p > also, anyone named Anonsomething probably isn’t a good source of anything or to talk to in general
05:49:11 |@chr000t > yeah, but my biggest crime is talking shit on Twitter and not being intimidated by wingnuts
05:50:15 | shm00p > hold up
05:50:17 | shm00p > somethings going on
05:50:20 |@chr000t > So, Kitsu looks like a snitch, Ryan looks like a snitch, Ryan talks to Savoca, twice now she comes up with FBI agent names I have never shared with anyone
05:50:21 | shm00p > in my channel atm lol
05:50:24 | shm00p > with bratty and xu0ut
05:50:30 |@chr000t > log it?
05:50:51 | shm00p > hopefully someone grabbed it cuz i wasnt even paying attn and i cant scroll up in irssi
05:50:53 | shm00p > lemme tell someone to grab it rq
05:51:05 |@chr000t > OK, please do
05:52:01 | shm00p > seems shes blaming xu0ut now
05:52:07 |@chr000t > for what?
05:52:23 | shm00p > swat
05:52:26 |@chr000t > @Xu0ut, ReaperSec associate, runs with @ShadowDXS, drunks a lot
05:52:47 | shm00p > yeah
05:52:50 |@chr000t > I heard his voice, he is not the caller for the three that I have heard
05:53:01 |@chr000t > So Tom Ryan hangs with ReaperSec
05:53:39 |@chr000t > And REaperSec are all crowded in BB’s TInychat for his raid
05:54:07 | shm00p > yeah that was kinda awkard to me lol
05:54:12 | shm00p > i mean i took cred but jokingly
05:54:17 | shm00p > i didnt do shit to barrett brown

05:59:27 |@chr000t > then in October the lawsuit discovery shows her role in the sting planning between 12/1/2011 and 1/31/2012

06:04:45 |@chr000t > and they get info from political trolls, and they try to turn it into a case, and it totally backfires on them

I took the liberty of scraping Neal's Avyakata Flickr account, This will be the first dump of the scrape I did, Having more saved already elsewhere but will dump more later.
To sum this one up: From 2004, Neal goes on this trip with his old buddies to San Francisco and has this obsession with cats, He also had a barn full of 10+ cats.

A run down house with a yard full of cats. Probably making every neighbor's life hell.
I guess I shouldn't be shocked.
They look like the kind of sickly feral cats that are always spreading feline AIDS and leukemia everywhere while devastating the local wildlife. What an asshole.

This document discusses Neal's antics on Twitter, The (now retired) FBI field agent Daniel Borsuk he was in touch with, and more associates of Neal Rauhauser, Including Beth Becker.

More Neal nudes that exist out there of him taking these dumb images of himself, Neal is also revealed to have a shoe and foot fetish, He was obsessed with women's feet and shoes.

It also goes over his obsession with cats and putting a malware called NETCAT into a pfp on an account called smartgirlpower in an image of a cat he took.

Someone posted something about Neal's exchange with Daniel Borsuk, He had to ask Neal to stop calling police on someone.

Found another story of his from DailyKos from August 15th 2010, Titled The Wh0r3 Next Door (https://archive.ph/PNYGr) Neal compares the Tea Party ideology to furry porn while linking to FurAffinity and politically spergs about politicians.
Blog said:
What’s a good woman to do when a real tramp moves in right next door? Skirts too high, neck lines too low, and the willingness to do and say anything for attention? The children might be scrubbed and schooled, the house clean, and dinner on the table promptly at six, but even so a spectacle like that draws the eye ... and sets urges in motion.
This was the situation faced by the handmaidens of democracy, our various journalistic efforts, when Fox News arrived on the scene in 1996. Fourteen years later they’ll all dive for a starlet without panties like a rugby team going for a loose ball and the Tea Party, the political news equivalent of furry pr0n, is treated as if it isn’t some synthetic fetish.
America’s fourth estate is as crashed as any institution we have and Congress is afraid to get its reform on with other issues because of the chattering pack of cable news trollops, let alone directly addressing that problem.
Reforming the media is up to us ...

A functional democracy needs a functional media. We lost that function about the time Bush came into office. The lights started to come on by 2004 and the blogosphere roared into existence, participating in the 2006 reversal of Karl Rove’s "permanent majority", assisting in the retaking of the Senate and Presidency in 2008 ... and then we were largely discarded by those inside the beltway.
There are a lot of theories behind this but my take is that there are two sorts of people in Washington, D.C. - those that benefit from the corruption, and those who are terrified of the consequences of touching the mess. Those of us outside the cushy nest within I-495 understand that homelessness isn’t just the domain of street mumblers and lack of access to health care is more than just a statistical matter.
I’ve been both thrilled by the energy and talent I see here, and completely disgusted at the reactivity and lack of process management. I noticed Twitter thanks to a front page article here and the tobogan ride began. I spent some time posing as a right winger, then I moved on to organizing with the Blog Workers Industrial Union, then into campaign work via Progressive PST, and most recently into a policy oriented bi-directional news service.
I’m just an Open Source Intelligence tool maker - the plan for a daily news service addressing the policy maker’s needs came to me as an afterthought. Darcy Burner pressed a clutch of position papers about Progressive Congress into my hand as we were finishing up our first meeting at her office on Capitol Hill last April. I looked them all over after I got home and this idea seemed like it might benefit from some of the things we were doing.
Fast forward four months and we’ve got a system that is ready to handle energy, environment, economy, education, immigration, labor, healthcare, LGBT issues, and national security.

4892157272_e9c7f3bf27_z.jpg

This is all likely to get a new skin - I’ll stand by the framing and plumbing, but appearance is not my life’s focus. That being said, the basic functions are present. The daily news papers, produced with paper.li have their own tabs, and the nine policy domain Twitter accounts share three tabs. The very first page introduces the system and provides links to the nine NetVibes based news rooms. You can explore for yourself by clicking right here.

Like what you see? The news rooms have different content, but the layout is the same - news, views, opposition, buzz, a situation room, and a page displaying the editors’ personal Twitter feeds. The daily paper itself appears in a tab after this and, if the editors so choose, lists of high value contributors are used to create further daily reading in addition to the carefully curated main paper. The sources for news are the feeds clearly listed coupled with personal interaction between the editors and their associates.
More importantly, do you like what you don’t see? "Lindsay Lohan" will only appear if there is a critique of our rotted media in the mix. You’ll see Andrew Breitbart’s name a few times a week in my personal feed, as I’m in the habit of insulting him and his larcenous news manufacturing operation, but we’d never actually repeat any of the crap he gins up. Glenn Beck? Oh, yes, every time one of his nuts is caught en route to shooting up some Progressive institution we’ll be on that, but since we have the journalistic integrity so lacking in paid journalism we’ll never be caught bearing some conspiracy theory as if it’s real news.
And if I could eliminate the ads in the paper.li output I’d do so right this minute, but that’s how they pay for their system. Other than that you’ll find no distractions - this service is about attention conservation, and it’s going to be as distraction free as we can make it.

So that's that - I got utterly fed up with the lack of actual journalism among those being paid to do such things, I innovated a tiny bit, stirred up some fellow activists in a broad social movement, and created what ought to be a functional alternative. If you've got comments, questions, news tidbits, or best of all if you've done some solid policy oriented diary that you want to get seen you can hunt me up as @StrandedWind on Twitter.
And as for you media trollops, you're on notice - Objective Facts, Progressive Views - get used to hearing that phrase.

(UPDATE: rec list - an unexpected surprise. Thanks. You can find the editors for the various areas on Twitter ...)

@RL_Miller is does the editing for environment and has a whole pack of people working on climate activism. This is the model for how we hope to see things go - lots of good news, outreach to activists and Congressional staff, mainstream media nosing around to pick up stories, etc.

@Unenergy is handling energy.

@ekyprogressive just got started with health care.

@MsCBSoxy has taken on some of the labor editing and I believe we'll have two others joining us shortly.

@1whoknu is forwarding information on good economy feeds and may be interested in some of the daily production.

@quietis was our very first to set up anything, doing both LGBT and immigration. She is busy during the day so @QueerjohnPA says he'll do LGBT and @mamitamala says she'll help with immigration. Lil bad mama is hidden, but she's one of the leaders at @VivirLatino, a Twitter feed that has a blog behind it.

Gotta give a shout out to @TrumanProject, who can not provide an editor for us, but who have gone to great lengths to introduce us to good national security feeds.

And lest you think I invented this all on my own I gave credit to some of the thinkers behind this stuff in a recent diary on OpenLeft entitled Credit Where Credit Is Due: Progressive Congress News Feeds Genesis

(FURTHER UPDATE:
Lots of people who never even noticed the twenty or thirty thoughtful diaries with screen shots and stuff describing the theory and practice behind Open Source Intelligence have decided they don't like the metaphor that was required to actually gain some attention.
The announcement the grownups got, entitled Progressive Congress News Feeds Architecture, showed up over on OpenLeft.
I believe I said something earlier about reactivity and a lack of focus on what is important. quod erat demonstrandum.

Scared, sick, 250 miles from the hospital

I'm sick, sick with maybe something that is not supposed to be, but its growing in my midsection, and the nearest medical care for me is across two hundred fifty miles of Iowa roads. The nearest interstate ramp on this trip is eighty miles away, the one on the shortest path is over a hundred, and part of the state had winter storm conditions yesterday.

Whatever this is, it affects my judgment, steals away my ability to speak, and as I type this my hands are shaking a little bit, like those of a man twice my age. I think I'm OK to drive, but that is mostly academic, as I don't have any other care choices that wouldn't immediately bankrupt me.

There are many, many more just like me who have no access to care at all, and we need to do something about this.

The symptoms came together for me two weeks ago and I was in the local emergency room half an hour later, my head stuck into a CT scan machine, and pretty much unable to speak. My insurance ran out at the end of December and that little adventure cost me $1,500. Things began to be more clear after this - the nagging pain in my back that had been slowing me down since last June was more than just a troublesome disk, and the mental fog I've been under was more than just depression due to the pain and the loss of my engineering consulting business.

I knew who nyceve was because I've been on DailyKos for a couple of years under another ID. You might have even read a diary of mine - I've been rescued four times in the last eight weeks. I created this account specifically for a proper GBCW after she did a diary that mentioned my situation. I wasn't going to say anything beyond the words I'd left with a friend along with instructions to post them here in the event of my passing, but this is proving to be a good distraction while I'm waiting for a call back from the University Hospital system.

We're very lucky here in Iowa. If you're a resident and you've exhausted all other avenues of care you can show up at a DHS office with your social security card, a birth certificate, and they'll issue you an Iowa Care ID number within two days. This only works at the University of Iowa Hospital in the southeast corner of the state, which is a bit of a trial for me as I'm in the opposite corner, but I'm glad its available. Nyceve tells me that other states are not nearly so caring of their citizens.

I did have insurance up to the end of December, but it was definitely "junk insurance", which I carried in the event of a car crash or other acute problems. I'm in my early forties and I've accumulated the typical collection of health care issues for a man my age, which I've found easier to deal with through my own discipline than trying to coax any work out of our broken health care system. My finances were such that I just paid cash when I needed expert opinions, but this avenue is not available to most people in this country.

If you're reading this you might be moved to try to help me in some way, but that isn't why I'm posting, at least not in an individual sense. I want you to take this story and go use it in the efforts to change the whole thing so nobody here in the richest country in the world has to put up with a Kafkaesque health care system where you have to be beyond the point of saving before the safety net is brought out.

(UPDATE: A winter storm in the southeast has pretty much socked in that part of the state. I leave tomorrow morning for a 1:45 appointment and things have been getting a bit worse through the day, even with the application of the blood thinner they gave me. I am not liking this, not one little bit.)

I've been on a steady downward spiral the last eight months which I had attributed to a back injury and the associated depression due to chronic pain. Yesterday I found out I likely have a parathyroid tumor and I definitely have a kidney stone.
The stone kicked up this morning, so I scooted back 275 miles across the state to the one hospital in the state where my Iowa Care card works in anticipation of being admitted for the stone, and now I am seeking a place to stay for the night.
This is the reality of "accessible" medical care in Iowa, and nyceve tells me I'm lucky to live in a such a kindly state.
First, a little background. A little less than a year ago I pressed $1,000 into the hands of one of Bill Richardon's staffers at a private fund raiser and I didn't miss it; business was flowing well. Not long after that I hurt my back and concurrently the parathyroid tumor took off, hiding under the smokescreen of the back injury all this time, stealing away my business and a good slice of my will to live. Looking back I'd say I've aged twenty years in the last eight months. My insurance ran out at the end of December and right on cue the symptoms picked up.
I heard about this Iowa Care thing and I went to check it out. My income had fallen to the point where I qualified - health care free for the asking ... with a few minor inconveniences.
As I got sicker I ended up living with my mom. Half was illness, half was the idea that I'd help her get the farm ready for sale, as its too much for her now. This puts me in the wind patch, way up in the northwest corner of the state. The Iowa Care rules allow people in Des Moines to use the hospital there, just 150 miles from home ... and everyone else gets the University of Iowa system. Its a great hospital, but 275 miles is a long way to drive with a kidney stone.
I had maybe $200 in checking, about the same amount in the form of old silver coins I've squirreled away, a couple of pieces of electronics and an old handgun I haven't shot in a decade - the sum total of my fortune after eight months of slowly liquidating while recovering from the back injury and progressing on the parathyroid tumor front. So ... this adds up to maybe $600, but I could be here for a week ... or two ... or more, while they sort out treating me.
I marched into the clinic at the hospital around 3:00 this afternoon and asked the see the social worker they'd offered the last time I was here for an appointment. As the child of a pair of depression babies this pains me more than you can imagine - bad enough I'm a Medicaid case before the age of retirement, but I was about to "go on relief" to boot. I figured they might have somewhere to put me.
However, I was saved that indignity ... because they have nowhere to house people even if they can make it here. My choices were a hotel with a hospital rate of $36/night or the homeless shelter. A very apologetic patient advocate pressed four $5 meal cards for the hospital into my hand and wished me luck.
Now I've got $200 in liquid funds, less the gas tank I filled, so I debated a while. I can just go to a hotel ... but only for two or three days before I'm broke and stranded. I really didn't want to put out someone in worse need than I am, but I thought this might be the time to try the shelter.
The shelter was much as expected - scary brown people, scary white people, a mob of both types smoking on the front porch, and a harried college kid in charge for the evening. The weather here is the usual for February in Iowa (see visual aid below) and the place is jam packed, so its overflow or not at all, which I learn after an hour of cooling my heels in the living room. Oh, but wait, you must ride their transportation to the location.

So ... I may need to scoot over to the hospital and I might get admitted for a couple of days due to the stone, and they want me to pay for an ambulance ride and leave my car untended in an area where it could be burglarized and with the snow there is alternate side parking, which means you move once a day or you get towed. This seemed like a nonstarter and I politely leaned on the kid. He said he would try to see if they can be flexible on this point. That was at 6:00, its now 7:00, and I won't be sure until 8:30.
Now I am triply blessed here, so lets review. The parathyroid tumor is a bit weird, but not cancer, treatable with a twenty minute outpatient produce, and they say I'll feel great once its done. I have a good working car, a laptop, and best of all I have a variable source of employment that needs only a coffee shop with wireless to bring in some money. I get just one job at the rates I charge and I can muddle through several weeks here without too much trouble. Thirdly I've got two college buddies in the area for an assist and one of them has a house on the market that is sitting empty. I should hear tomorrow whether or not I can get a four bedroom for the price of the gas & light bill for the month.
So ... my situation really isn't so grim, but I'm just flat horrified now that I see how this is done. Iowa has a program that is easy to get into ... but impossible to exercise unless you live in one corner of the state. How in the world would someone with a chronic condition and a job in a fixed location make use of this? And how in the world would a woman with child care issues handle getting here?
Tonight I am certain that as I write this there are thousands of Iowans who could be leading healthy, happy, productive lives, if only they could access the services here, but instead they face instability, disability, and an early grave.
Don't worry for me, dear friends, instead turn your attention to what is needed to make health care affordable and accessible for everyone.

Its 2:30 in the morning and I am typing quite slowly due to the blood gas monitor on my left index finger. I was admitted to the University of Iowa hospital via the emergency room about twelve hours ago and I’m currently residing on a neurology floor.

I must say the shine has come off Iowa Care in the last twelve hours. I’m pretty much out of money and as I described yesterday I’m going at this on the down low, staying in the city’s homeless shelter ay 331 North Gilbert until I can secure an inexpensive place to stay.

I’ve learned one lesson this day; if you’re homeless you don’t count, you don’t count even less than any other corporate slave who has outlived their usefulness.
(UPDATE: I don't want you guys to think I am blowing my own horn - my name comes from a diary nyceve wrote about me before I created this userid to chronicle my experiences, so the One Brave Kossack was her idea :-)
UPDATE2: please don't ride to my rescue - there are two others here who are sick/hurt and in the same boat. Concentrate on changing the system.)
UPDATE3: Got out of the shelter, details below)
I had a fairly typical homeless guy day. The shelter noises started around 5:00 AM and I was up and out the door by 7:00. If you’ve never been a resident of such a place you owe it to yourself to make the trip and find out in a direct, personal way what the hopeless and discarded look like before breakfast.

I rattled around the neighborhood for an hour or so, hunting up breakfast and then rejoining the unwashed masses in the common room. One neighbor has kindly left their wireless open so I have good service there. A resident struck up a conversation with me – D., a black man a few years older than me, walking with a bad limp which I later learned was due to an on the job injury with Tyson Chicken. They fired him three weeks after the event and apparently very carefully gamed him to block him from collecting unemployment or workman’s comp.

D. and I collected one other fellow with an entertaining case of schizoaffective disorder to serve as our guide since we’re both from out of town and then we set out to make the rounds. I got a pair of swimming trunks at Goodwill, the pawn shop wasn’t open so early, and then we made our way to a Methodist church that runs a program for homeless adults out of their basement. Again I got amazingly lucky with a snappy wireless link being available in the space. I’m going to office there for the duration of my stay.

We wiled away the afternoon, D. and I, with him getting around much better using my Leki trekking pole for a cane. I had a little money so we hit a junk shop and I got him a cane he could keep after seeing how much it helped him. We lucked out for lunch – as what I have seems to be resolvable I’ve started looking for more projects and an executive with a community driven wireless access business who approached me last month on a project in the area agreed to buy us both lunch. I can strongly recommend a place called The Cottage if you’re ever here in Iowa City – lunch was delicious.
3:00 PM came and we’d run out of stuff to get into so we made our way back to the shelter. I got the most curious physical sensations so I said my goodbyes. My ability to speak largely slipped away in the five minutes it took to make my way to the emergency room from the shelter.
Since I was presenting with stroke symptoms they hustled me straight through to the ER ... where the insults and disinterest in my wellbeing began.

This is a busy teaching hospital so I of course got the pretty would be nurse who looked scarcely older than my fifth grade son when it came time to get a blood draw and IV. Two messy bleeders later a matronly woman twice her size installed the IV and drew four vials in a few seconds. You have to expect this experience at a teaching hospital. Things went downhill from there.

I was going in and out of being able to speak. A puzzled second year resident tried out her unsteady diagnostic skills at a time where I could speak, then went off in search of a neurologist. A few moments later some exciting new trouble came over me – I was on the verge of passing out, I could barely speak, and I pulled the call cord. The doctor in charge appeared instead of the resident and I tried to convey that I was having trouble. I said "Can’t talk ... something changed." She said "You sound fine to me." This went back and forth a few times and I was pretty well amazed by the attitude I was getting. They wouldn’t get the resident who’d heard me able to speak articulately a few minutes earlier, and instead this so called doctor insisted "You sound fine to me." I was fine ... because my diagnosis was "homeless".

I finally got a cat scan and a chat with a nice young neurologist, then they dispatched me to this neurology ward.

The disinterested doctor’s twin sister is one of the floor nurses up here. I was wheeled in and they seemed quite put out that a shelter resident would have a car with a packed bag in it. Me calling my mom to tell her I was here? Not at all important – "You can NOT use that cell phone here." I gave up on the bedside local calls only phone, not wanting to trouble mom with a collect call. I’ve never felt such disinterest from a nurse in my life.

The security guy arrived and began taking the information about my car. The nurse assured him right off the bat that I’d be discharged tomorrow. This is VERY telling as they’d not even checked me in yet. Getting the feeling that the indigent are treated differently?

The whole scene changed when I responded to the guard: "It’s a gray 2007 Nissan Versa and I don’t want my laptop freezing out there overnight." You could have knocked nurse disinterested down with a feather. Once he was gone I started in on her – "Who is responsible for my overall care plan?" "No, I’m not having a stroke, this is a symptom of something else." Finally and most tellingly this little gem popped out of her mouth:

"What company do you work for?"

My turn to be prey to a passing feather. Rather than describing exactly what I do I told her I used to have my own engineering company ... before I got sick.

Things improved a bit after that but I’m left with the feeling that there is some sort of formal policy of delaying, dodging, and denying treatment where possible when the patient is covered by Iowa Care. Assuming I survive this perhaps we’re going to have to dig a little further into this matter and see if a FOIA action will turn up written proof.

An hour has got by me here, picking at this keyboard with one handicapped index finger and tomorrow is a new day on the homeless front – I believe the outside temperature is an honest zero and the wind chill will have it down into the -20F range.

I'm still a little bit amazed. I'm educated, articulate, rather cute as far as forty somethings go, and the attitude has been pretty much astonishing. I've taken the least cost path to the only method I have for obtaining health care and its been very clearly communicated to me by numerous people that I am crazy. I can only imagine the suffering of those who lack the education and temperament to compel the system to perform its intended role of the health care provider of last resort.

Medically Homeless, Day 3(Fellow Traveler)
byOne Brave KossackFollow

Things are looking up dramatically for me on a personal level. This morning I was at the hospital to meet fellow Kossack GreenHills for lunch and the kidney stone that has been plaguing me passed with just a little bit of pain.

Later I got a chance to interview a fellow traveler I met while staying in the shelter. I’ve found a miserable story of an abusive corporate employer, a crying need for union protections for workers, a health care system straining under the load; a story that must be told, over and over, until we’re again citizens of this country, rather than disposable consumer wage slaves.

GreenHills, a graduate student within the University system, and I had a nice lunch, talking about my health, her studies, and the massive systemic problems our health care system faces. We parted ways with an agreement to continue to exchange emails to see what we might be able to DO about these problems, and I may get together with she and her husband later this week,, as he wants to work in an area that is related to my field.

I went back to the shelter after lunch and I picked up David W., a fellow traveler in our broken medical system with an equally horrid story of worker mistreatment at the hands of Tyson Meats in their Columbus Junction, Iowa plant.

David, 49, left behind wife Pam, 44, daughter Bertina, 13, son Malik, 10, in Chicago and journeyed to little Columbus Junction, Iowa, population 600, to take an $11/hour meat cutting job. The long term goal was to establish himself in Columbus, then get his wife and kids out of a less than optimal Chicago neighborhood.

The first two months went very well for this polite, hard working man, then disaster struck. We’ve had terrible ice storms in the area. David slipped and fell in the parking lot after work, breaking his ankle.

What was most important in the hours after David’s injury? His well being? His prompt access to medical care? Nope, not a bit. Tyson held this man for OVER FOUR HOURS after the injury, testing him for drugs and alcohol, then badgering him for two different written statements before they’d transport him to the doctor. Oh, do I even have to say it? One does not have health insurance with an $11/hour job.

Tyson put David on light duty, sorting, cleaning, and doing support work for the other meat cutters, but in the background they began making the moves to discharge him in such a fashion that he would not qualify for workmen’s comp. GreenHills, a long time resident of the region who has worked in the mental health field confirmed this practice for me over lunch – Tyson’s treatment of workers is famously bad, with anyone who is sick or injured being pushed out and shortchanged in the process.

Tyson’s behavior runs a little deeper than just this. David tells me that most of the workers at the plant are Hispanic, many are Mexican nationals working here on sketchy papers, and that their presence often positions Tyson to pull this sort of stuff without any consequences. We talked about it and we agree that the illegal immigrants here are a problem ... until they have the same protections in employment that citizens have so that large employers can’t do these sorts of things. Tyson desperately needs some union attention, and the sort of union that takes WORKERS, regardless of their origins, and uses their collective power for the good of all.

Tyson transported David to the Iowa City bus station with a ticket home, but they refused to pay the $125 Greyhound wanted to ship his personal effects. Broke, hurt, and unwilling to surrender all of his possessions David elected to be dropped off at the shelter. He contacted a local attorney who is representing him in these matters and has been at the shelter now two weeks, constrained by his ankle and the miserable conditions here, which have left several inches of ice on every side street and sidewalk in the area.

I met David Friday night when I was at the shelter. Everyone else ignored me as I sat in the downstairs common room and pecked away on my laptop, but he stuck out his hand and introduced himself, then proceeded to quiz me about what I was doing. The next day he, I, and another resident went out and made the homeless guy rounds (Goodwill, pawn shop, a free lunch from one of my business contacts), and during the process I bought David a $6 cane at a local shop.

Not one to lay around and wait for things to come to him, and having his mobility somewhat restored with the cane, David promptly ventured onto the city bus system and got himself a job interview with the Goodwill program, which I expect will yield him a $9/hour job half time where they’ll work around the fact that he is convalescing from a fairly serious injury.

This man has an American dream, an Iowan dream; a little house in the country with a safe school system and a big garden for his wife. He was working with all of his will as his talents and education allowed when struck down by an accident. Upon receiving a $6 kindness from a stranger he promptly got back up and resumed his march in the face of everything our foul Corporatocracy and broken health care system can throw at him. Here is another man who will wrap his bootstraps around the neck of some Republican's career after he gets done using them to pull himself up.

What can we do for this man? Nothing directly, dear Kossacks, just as was my case – both David and I are going to "get over" with a little help from friends and acquaintances, but there are forty seven million people in this country who get up every day and roll the dice on whether they can safely cross an icy parking lot on the way into work, or whether they can keep going with a somewhat mysteriously glandular condition.

There are people who may have just a little bit worse luck than David and I. People who will not meet a kind stranger, not get a free meal or a cane, and thusly people who will fail. Despite the constant noise from the right regarding the need for self sufficiency these people will fail not of their own accord, but instead because the deck has been totally and complete stacked against them by a Corporatocracy that treats the politicians we elect and their votes as commodities to be bought and sold, and individuals as consumers and/or wage slaves, but never as human beings.

I'm ready now, people. Bring the local reporters. Bring the TV stations. This story is white hot and I want it everywhere. I'd like to hear comments below as to how we get this done.

Medically Homeless, Day 4(The Overloaded System)

Today I awoke to two inches of snow on my car, but its this crazy, fluffy stuff that one can remove simply by briskly waving hands near it. The streets have turned into a marvelous match of auto hockey and I’m glad to be back inside, where I plan on remaining for the rest of the day.

I did get out and about a bit today, as I’d agreed yesterday to transport David to Goodwill for a job interview. Things look brighter for him – they pay $10.88 to $12.35 for a supervisor position and they seemed to like him.

Yesterday I managed to sneak in a ten minute quickie interview the with manager of the homeless shelter here in Iowa City, and I think I can make a sensible diary of the muddle of transportation and shelter issues that face someone trying to get back on their feet.

I had my own personal stranding event about two months ago. I’d been behind on my car payment, I got paid for a good bit of work, overnighted two months worth of payments in the form of a money order, and then I took off to pick up my kids for Christmas. My ex, whom I never, ever miss at all, decided I needed some quality time with the repo man rather than my children. This happened Christmas Eve so my car was impounded to the tune of $510 in repo and storage fees over the holidays and I was stranded in a frigid two hundred square mile urban wasteland.

This happened in a place where I’d lived for thirteen years so I had friends willing to drop everything and come pick me up, provide a place to stay until I got paid again, etc. I wanted to get a story out of it and I was in town for a consulting job as well as picking up kids, so I stuck around and did things the hard way, staying in a cheap hotel, walking to where I wanted to go, and doing the telecommuting thing via the hotel’s wireless. I’d managed to get the site visit part of the job done before trying to pick up the kids, so the customer was not aware of what had happened.

It was a strange feeling to stand and watch the 1999 Nissan Altima I’d given to a former employee during happier times pulling away, and wondering if I’d make it safely across icy streets with six lanes of fast moving traffic to get a pair of long johns at the Crossroads Mall. America’s layout is not meant for humans, but instead grew up around the assumption we’d all be riding in three thousand pound steel boxes. The loss of mobility weighs on one’s psyche. I suggest you all try an experiment – drive your car to a far away place, park it, and take public transport home for the evening, then go retrieve it the next day. You’ll find it enlightening.

Those who are at the lower end of the socioeconomic scale face horrible transportation barriers. A minimum wage job means a vehicle is a serious financial commitment, and such a position may be three to five miles one direction from affordable housing, while food and other necessities may be three to five miles the other way. If no personal auto is available this means a forty hour a week job may require sixty to seventy hours once public transit is factored into the equation. Iowa City is probably nicer than most given the large student population, but a town without a significant college, like the one where I was stranded, tends to have a token bus service laid out to be most convenient for a city council with other financial priorities.

I got about ten minutes with Leon, the manager of the shelter house, in between his afternoon appointment schedule. I’d noticed ANOTHER person with a University Hospital wrist band in the facility while I was dropping David off, a woman a good bit older than me who seemed to be semiconscious, laying on a couch in the crowded common room on the ground floor. I later learned she’d just had a benign breast tumor removed and had nowhere to go but the shelter – not the most conducive space for following the doctor’s orders of resting quietly after surgery.

What I heard was this: The shelter has a fire marshal imposed limit of 29 overnight residents and they consistently have 31 to 33 people all four seasons. The excess go to overflow shelter provided by local churches around 8:30 in the evening and are returned to the shelter the next morning.

Among these thirty or so folks there are always one or two who are there for treatment. Now I follow bonddad and Jerome a Paris so I know what a mess our housing market is in and I figured it wouldn’t be too hard for the city to purchase a troubled foreclosure and fix it up to handle the small volume of medical cases. Leon promptly stuck pins in that idea.

It turns out that Iowa City’s Shelter House already has a good plan in the works, a plan that would expand the current overloaded 29 bed facility to 70 beds, and relocate the shelter from downtown to an area two blocks south of a large commercial strip, near a Goodwill and several other potential employers. I know the area a little bit and I think it is less than optimal in terms of access to some services, but there is a good bus line through the area and the extra space and employment possibilities would be a very good thing.

Part of the expansion plan would have been funded by the Veterans Administration, who foresee a pending spike in homeless or financially strapped veterans from rural Iowa needing to get to the V.A. hospital, which sits just a few blocks north of the University Hospital. The Iowa Care program is new enough and the University Hospital system is in transition right now so they’ve not stepped up and made a commitment to funding a portion of the build in exchange for some dedicated beds, which the V.A. already did, but this would seem a likely course for them, even if they do take the sensible next step of expanding the number of hospitals covered by Iowa Care, making the service more accessible.

As expected, the neighborhood has turned out to block the construction of the new facility. The case is currently in Iowa State Supreme Court awaiting a decision.

The more I learn about this situation there more concerned I become. How many people have fallen down never to get up, or more correctly how many have been knocked down with a deck that is totally stacked against them?

Well, friends, I think this story has run its course. I sat earlier tonight and wrote 2,093 words. Upon review I find that it was all hyperliterate, self important crapola. I haven’t deleted it ... yet ... but I do not think it’ll see the light of day.

About me: Headache? Gone. Backache? Gone. Nagging cough due to pressure on my diaphragm? Gone. Constant pressure in my head? Gone. I still need the parathyroid surgery, but that’ll be a pedestrian outpatient procedure. I feel 1,000% better and that comes right through the fact that I caught the flu while in the shelter. Who knew one little kidney stone could cause such grief? Resolving the parathyroid issue should protect me from any further occurrences.

David and I are both on the mend, both physically and financially. I’m going to close this out with a little peek into my world, for those who care to come looking to hear ... the rest of the story :-)

Look for me ... where all is falling to ruin.

Look for me ... where the yellow kayak is beached in some quiet, out of the way place.

Look for me ... where things are just a little bit different.

Look for me ... sleeping under the stars near the ranch road exit at mile marker 108.

Look for me ... where others have made their mark.

Look for me ... where others are passing without noticing.

Look for me ... in places that arise at some times, but not at others.

Look for me ... high above.

Look for me ... on the balcony in the desert air, waiting for sunset to make Las Vegas bearable.

Look for me ... where the water comes for the island

Look for me ... but in an absolute sense, rather than a dualistic one.

And better yet, why not go and look for yourself? The first step on the path is unplugging that glowing box in your living room, and the next setting foot out on the road.

Did another scrape of Neal's Flickr, Images are also from 2006, More images from an abandoned factory, Cats in a barn and an abandoned train, He definitely has a fascination for abandoned places.

He took an image of a Dickson County sheriffs vehicle so we can pinpoint where the images may have been taken and the train he took images of is labeled Algoma central, Which oddly is a Canadian railway system. Someone else on Reddit claims they found this in Superior Iowa outside Spirit Lake, There are also some saying this area used to be a meth lab. You can also see Neal's yellow kayak in a small trailer attached to his car as police pull up to it, Unsure if he got trespassing charges or fines that day.
