So this guy's been getting some attention.

19-year old Amos Yee, created in Singapore and former child actor, is this idiot who keeps finding himself getting into legal trouble for crimes like drawing Singapore Prime Ministers buttfucking each other and spouting hate speech through his Youtube videos. Whether you think this goober's noble or not, that's not the point.

Aside from being a kid with nothing but controversy up his sleeve, he decided to make it worse for himself.

It's Singapore. Politics in Asia are very...different. Talking shit about your county's leader goes from frowned upon to illegal, the more common response. I know it's illegal in at least China, North Korea, Thailand, and Turkey, and it wouldn't surprise me if it was illegal in Singapore.

Not to mention, porn (and other explicit media) is probably illegal or very restricted there, as it is in the rest of Asia.

On 31 March three charges were read out to Yee in the State Court of Singapore, two of which were related to the 2015 video. The first charge was that Yee's 2015 video violated Section 298 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, as it "contained remarks against Christianity, with the deliberate intention of wounding the religious feelings of Christians in general".

The second charge was under Section 4 of the Protection from Harassment Act(later stood down) was that Yee's 2015 video violated the Protection from Harassment Act as it "contained remarks about Mr Lee Kuan Yew which was intended to be heard and seen by persons likely to be distressed".

The third charge was that Yee had violated Section 292 of the Penal Code, by uploading an obscene image of Lee and Thatcher on 28 March 2015. BBC News reported that "Singapore's hate speech laws are intended to ensure harmony between its multi-ethnic population and prevent a recurrence of the racial violence of its early years."

Very true. The article says that, on one of his court dates, Yee was slapped by some guy who didn't like what he said. That guy, for literally only slapping someone, faced either two years in prison or a $5000SGD (~$3700USD) fine (he took the latter).

I think their legal system is a tad too...harsh.

This guy is angling for the death penalty in Singapore, shit. I wouldn't play around in that country. Then again, I wouldn't tell him to stop saying this outrageous shit because it'll catch up to him in Singapore. They don't have a lot of other things going on, crime wise, so I'm sure they've got all the time in the world to find out if this guy is all talk or if he walks the child porn walk, too.

I remember hearing about him from another Singaporean youtuber after he made his video on Lee Kuan Yew. He got a lot of shit from it.

He also accused his former bailor of molesting him. Then he admitted to lying about it, saying he did it to manipulate the media or whatever. When his ex-bailor threatened to press charges if he didn't apologize and retract the allegation against him, Amos told him to give him three days because he's a "slow writer." After Law (the former bailor) said he wouldn't press charges against him, Amos made a blog post saying that his apologize was also a lie.
