What I don't understand is why someone would troll themselves into these horrible situations. Is the attention really worth going to jail, and ending up living in a shithole? And of all things to troll about, why choose something like pedophilia.

Because some people are absolutely addicted to negative attention, and will fanatically act like the biggest and most repulsive creeps and scumbags imaginable just to keep getting off on how much people hate and spit on them. Ahuviya is one example, Ethan Ralph another, Milo probably qualifies, and Amos Yee exemplifies this. Being hated in their minds makes them "important" and "scary" and thus "powerful" and it creates an emotional high in their brainboxes, which drives them to keep doubling down.

I've said it before. Maybe Amos IS fucked in the head, but in a way that he enjoys attention even if this means his demise.

Yeah, I know about them. I've always thought that Lucas did that 'cause he had nothing to lose. Police had enough evidence to kill him twice, so he wanted to "raise bids" or just buy himself some time while they will be looking for another victim.

Well, in those guys case they did it when they were already in prison for good. So confessing put off execution and let them go on road trips as well.

Just because someone is a troll doesn't mean they don't honestly believe the shit they say. I've known plenty of trolls who simply took delight in how pissed off their disgusting opinions make most people.
