What can I say? I have a tendency to look at a lot of these cows as it being an act because it's too stupid to be real otherwise. DSP, Jace Connor, Chris himself at the start and others. It's like I have a hard time believing that people are honestly this stupid.
Amos has always struck me as being thirsty for recognition. He's a former child actor from what I've read and when that stopped being a thing he felt the need to still be in the public eye. He wanted people to know who he was and I was behind him on the whole free speech thing. That's a big deal where he was. But once he was here he started on the whole pedo thing which led to believe he was doing so to create controversy even going as far as to start a pedo discord for the sake of stirring the pot. But in the end, maybe we have a case of "Mother Night" and how you portray yourself is how you truly are.
It's a novel by Kurt Vonnegut that had a movie adaptation about 20 years ago. Long story short Howard W. Campbell Jr is an American living in Germany and is approached by an unknown member of the CIA looking to recruit him to pass secret messages to agents hidden behind enemy lines. He has to pose as a Nazi and they'd send him coded messages, with specific words and pauses between words, that he would then speak from a Nazi run radio station.
In the end, even though he wasn't a Nazi, he's now in jail for war crimes and he's writing his memoirs which is what we read in the book. The whole point of the book is asking, "are we who we say we are or are we who we appear to be"? Was Howard W. Campbell Jr an American patriot helping out the war effort or was he a Nazi? Which version of him is correct.
The ending is left ambiguous in both the novel and movie as to whether or not he kills himself or does he simply kill "Howard W. Campbell Jr" and becomes a new person free of the stigma of Nazi afterwards?

Admittedly haven't read this full thread: didn't he make several false accusations against other people for attention or some other petty motive? I mean I think he claimed his lawyer or social worker or someone molested him during the Islam imprisonment arc mostly because I'm pretty sure Andy Getbackski grilled him about it at the time. My point is that it came out that he never had been abused in that way. I could be misremembering though.

The issue is that for a lot of pedos, it's a power dynamic as much as it is a sexual kink. Castration just takes away a physical urge. It doesn't magically rewire the brain. Plus it would likely just turn them from sex offenders to serial killers with a grudge against the government.

Stupidity is one thing but we've all known that one guy who says things to get people riled up and when he gets in trouble throws his hands up and yells, "it's just a prank bro! Don't take it so seriously" then a week later is saying the same thing again to different people. Those assholes exist and based on how Amos talked and how he brought this up when he was starting to fade in people's minds it just seemed too convenient for me. It was almost textbook in how calculated it looked.
