An update to dislikes on YouTube

I didn't like the like/dislike feature to begin with, a binary choice is not sufficient for a meaningful rating system. The multi-star system is a far better user rating system, like they had once upon a time.

This however? This is awful. A like button and what is now effectively a "don't show me this again" button, something that already existed I should add.

I mean it's super clear why they're doing this, even if they want to pretend otherwise. If this was about bot/user manipulation Google of all companies could nip that in the bud easily, that's simply an excuse.

If someone has a dissenting opinion (against anything), but it's impossible to express, does it really exist?

Since ratings are completely fucking useless on YouTube now, I just decided to remove both likes & dislikes using uBlock Origin's block element. TardTube can suck a fucking fat cock and suck a fart out of my asshole because this website is now going to be a god damn hugbox.

might as well remove the subscribe icon, the bell, the youtube channel, and the video title

actually forget videos. now its perfect. gj youtube keep it up

Did these channels not know they could already disable ratings?
Actually that didn't disable the ratings it just made them invisible for the viewers of said videos you could still like/dislike them, but only the creators could still see the number of likes/dislikes on every of his videos.
While this was an optional feature the new feature now is a default setting which can't be changed even if the creator would like to do so.

Can websites like Social Blade be able to count the likes + dislike? If so, I don't care. People saying this is happening because MSM is butthurt but it probably really is because of their bullshit bullying and harassment policy. The egos of e-celebs is so fragile that youtube must bend the knee.

It looks like VidIQ still works so far
I have a Youtube Data API account and they emailed a notice about this earlier this morning. The backend API that provides the rating data isn't going to be switched off until December 13, 2021:
The pussies at Google said:
If you would like to apply for an exemption, you must complete this application form. Otherwise, your access to public dislike count data via the Data API will end on December 13, 2021.

If the problem was mass dislikes on COVID videos from mainstream news sources, they could just disable voting on those. I thought getting rid of the star rating when they did that was a bad move, but this is much worse. Now we all get to waste our time with bad tutorials, scams, and misinformation because there's not an easy way to see the community reaction.
