One of the things that bums me out is that one of his bigger issues is that his line-work is shoddy, since I have the same problem. When I'm using a tablet, I find inking decently to be damn-near impossible, and I have no idea how to improve it. But he uses pen on paper, then scans it, so I really don't understand what his excuse is. Inking on paper is so much easier than it is with a tablet. I just don't do it because the scanning process is 90% troubleshooting for me. =/

The biggest issues involving Dobson is that he is relentlessly mediocre and makes no effort to better himself. Every little point you make about yourself in this post is years of personal evolution in Dobson's life, if it were to be played backwards.

Does he say anything about PC gamers? I really, REALLY don't want to read his comics. Anything with a self insert character in it just... wow.

I just realized why I get so pissed off at people who make this kind of shit.

I'm a Science Fiction/Horror writer. I'm not a published writer, but I'm a writer. A damn good one at the risk of sounding like a douchenozzle.
Yet just because I've received praise that doesn't make me think I'm the greatest writer in the world. I know have many faults with my work, and when I do upload my stuff to various forums to ask for criticism, and it does get criticized, I realize that it's trying to help me.

Yet assholes like this have LEGIONS of fans constantly sucking their cocks, yet they refuse to take criticism and will never change their writing process or style in an attempt to not suck. If I write something that sucks, and a couple of people tell me it sucks, I change it so it doesn't suck, or just abandon the idea. If you even say anything about somebody like this making a tiny mistake in plot consistency or anything like that, they automatically label you a troll and accuse you of personally insulting them.

I remember one of his blog posts where he explained why he was fired from his job cleaning airplane toilets.

He was on his way to a plane and he thought the latrine was clean enough as it was so ignored it. His colleagues were mean to him so he decided to take a nap. Apparently the plane couldn't leave until the toilets had been cleaned and inspected properly so it had to stay on the runway while Dobson snoozed away, not noticing he was paged or whatever. When he finally woke up his lady boss was furious at him and, shocker, didn't really care about the "terrible" hazing Martyr Andrew had to put up with so he was forced to do his job properly and I think he got fired after that.

I may misremember some parts of the story, it's been months since I read it, but essentially he's such a whiny baby he couldn't even perform manual labor properly and responsibly (and also sleeps during work hours, ignoring everyone who has to suffer the consequences for his shitty attitude and ethics).

EDIT: Wait, I think the hazing came before the cleaning and that's his excuse for not doing it properly.

He also did some "West v.s. East" drawing, only all western characters came from his crappy comics and it wasn't so much a battle as his own characters assaulting recognizable Japanese characters who couldn't put up the least bit of resistance. It was basically a visual representation of his fantasy of completely and flawlessly conquer those damn "Japs and weebos" who pollute the minds of youngsters.

THIS IS LITERALLY WHAT OFFENDS ME THE MOST IN THIS WHOLE THREAD.

His terrible pirate comic steals Rumiko Takahashi's trademarks, stories, and style and traces panels from Ranma 1/2. He rips shit from all over the place and doesn't even bother to make the art styles match, so he has all this smug art of his big wide DOBSON UNIVERSE that is an awful crossover mishmash of bootleg versions of different cartoon characters. All with wiggle lines everywhere when nobody is moving, of course.

Oh and he tries to make political comics when he once posted a journal entry where he revealed that he thought the Tea Party and Occupy Wall Street were the same group. Seriously.

I guess, looking back on this, he could have just been using the Tea Party as an example of a group he doesn't like, instead of trying to say he considers OWS some kind of Tea Party splinter group (which is the consensus the old SA thread about him landed on), but it's hard to tell. His writing is about as good as his art.

Still doesn't know anything about what he's talking about either way.
