Andrew Torba / Gab (Gab.com / Gab.ai) / Dissenter (dissenter.com) - An incompetent captain sinking millions of other people's dollars.

Unfortunately instead of making multiple posts, he just edited over the old one, and I can't see the history because my account is blocked

Didnt Grenell work for Bush?

I always find it funny that all of these people say shit like "This is not the Republican party I knew!"...mfers both bruce jenner and richard grennel were republicans before you were growing pubes.

"WHY ARENT THEY BRINGING ABOUT A CHRISTIAN PURITAN BASED SOCIETY??!?!?" IDK...maybe its 2021 and govt shouldnt tell people how to live?

These people would bow before the Islamic Republic

You shouldn’t assume a site is dead just because it slows down when nothing is going on. You’ll see a similar ebb and flow in every growing site, especially with a monotonous topic. It’s rarely a steady linear climb.

They’re still quite a bit more active than they have been for the majority of their history, and every other alt tech site for that matter.

Gab's developers have been chimping out over follow spam for days. I'm a little suspicious of it.

It's a legitimate problem but for them to come out so harshly after 5 years of nothing makes me think it's costing them.

Update on Gab Phone:

They're going to put out educational videos for normies to root their Android phones and install whatever they want. Which is... a surprisingly correct approach?
It would have been 10-7 years ago. Rooting phones today is insanely arduous. I love root apps, not a day goes by that I don't miss DriveDroid and Anymote, and even I don't have a rooted phone anymore. If it's too much bullshit for someone who's aware of the advantages and would be actively using them, there's no chance that a single person on gab will derive anything useful from those tutorials - Assuming they're even competently made and contain any useful information.

That's a weird take. No, it really isn't that hard assuming it's possible on your phone. The only time I've ever had trouble was with my most recent phone, because Pixel 4 was practically brand new when I tried it. They're easy now.

I think it's a great idea. Online education is cheap.

Edit: Also, even if you can't root it. The important part is installing a de-googled ROM, and that's even easier.

Maybe things have gotten better since the last time I rooted a phone, but my memory of Magisk is nothing but pain and bullshit.

In the April update, Torba claims they're mostly working on the new backend and infrastructure for moving money. Which, we already knew. But some of the details are noteworthy.

First of all, it seems like they aren't planning on using Strike anymore, which is a shame. They're the ones who introduced me to Strike, it's a great Paypal alternative with crypto integration. Now they're just making their own, which... fine. That's normal for them, Gab likes to keep everything in-house so no one else can fuck with their code like Brave does. I just wonder what the turning point was there.

They also gave an update on Hydra Social, which they're now calling "Gab Next." Apparently, they're not just rewriting the backend, they're rewriting the whole thing. Which most likely means yet another redesign incoming! The current one doesn't even turn a year old for two more weeks. I hope the new one is good, the current iteration of Gab is literally my favorite website to look at.

C'mon, you telling me that the boomer retards who use gab are "smart" enough to understan these?

No smart person would use gab for more than 2 mintues
That was why I pointed to a decade ago, when most any popular phone had a one-click root solution. Even Gab users could have done it. Now, the popular phones are locked up under draconian 'security', and less popular phones are far more likely to be fully accessible, sometimes by design.

They're going to release a new Dissenter browser that hopefully they can keep up to date. That's pretty good news if you use the site.

Fosco is usually good to his word, I believe they're actually going to do it.

In other news, this might be the first month in a very long time that they won't be funded. Only 2 weeks left and they're at 30%
