I have yet to meet a woman with an interest in "weird pets" - especially insects - who wasn't batshit crazy. God forbid you just get a cat or a dog, or even something useful like a chicken - no no, you have to be a quirked up manic pixie dream girl whose interests are so Le UnIqUe. I actually like spiders because they eat other insects, but they aren't pets. They belong outside.

The worst part about it, though, is that there are simps here giving her comfort over her dumb spider. Anthropomorphizing something with a brain smaller than a tic tac is utterly retarded behavior. This is basically the same thing as comforting a tranny and letting him know that, yes, he is in fact a real woman. The fact is that trannies should be in mental institutions and so should this girl.

It sounds goofy, but marginalized people often relate to marginalized animals. I've been drawn to creepy crawlies and snakes and whatnot since I was a little baby raptor (I distinctly remember putting a tarantula on my list to Santa when I was 6). Every other person in the herp/exotic community is either LGBTQ, disabled/mentally ill, an abuse survivor, autistic, grew up poor, etc.

Krats Creatures and Zoobooks also did not help, and neither did Animal Planet.

I looked it up and apparently the most humane way is dry ice. I guess you can't take them for a needle like a dog. Smashing seems inhumane, though there was a cow who did that to a living kitten that fell from her deck.

You basically have to put them in a freezer. It sounds really cruel but it has the same effects as a vet putting a dog or a cat to sleep - they slow down, go to sleep and never wake up. It is considered the kindest way to deal with an invert who is better off being put out of its misery.

As one spider overlord to another, I am so sorry you're losing one of your tarantulas @Android raptor. It's never easy.

The lizards and frogs are fine. I can understand that. Never would hurt them. (Reminder, some cultures eat them).
