I want to be as zen about anything in life as Gamestop Brian is about this.
It's more likely Gamestop Brian is dead inside and just can't express emotionss inside, working at a game stop is hell unless your a complete scumbag like the employess at my nearest EB games (Canadian branch of Gamestop) they are living up the stereotype of the awful Gamestop employee to a t, imagine laughing at the costomer face after screwing them over

A video has been making the rounds via social media, showing a customer attempting to get his money back on his newfound purchase of Fallout 76. Though he doesn’t disclose why, he apparently isn’t too fond of the game’s new online structure. You can watch it below.

Now, at first, the manager is calm, explaining that it’s mainly due to policy. Apparently the consumer didn’t have a receipt, meaning all he can do is trade it in for store credit.

At first, the customer lowly lets on that he’s upset over the whole thing, then steps off camera for a quick second as another customer makes his way into the store. But then the rage clearly takes over.

The customer begins trashing items within the store, starting with one small shelving unit. Then he charges a stack of digital cards, bringing the whole stand down. He then proceeds towards the door before knocking down another case of games, then takes down one more thing before exiting the store.

Meanwhile, the manager, apparently named “Brian,” remains calm throughout, but then answers the phone at the end of the video, as if nothing has happened. But clearly, this is “gamer rage” taken to a whole new level.

It’s unknown if the customer was charged with destruction of GameStop property, but it’s likely police will be investigating the matter.

Cool Runnings Ragings

:powerlevel: Personal experience here: unless he's a GM or branch manager he's not getting the hours and pay to care.

Gamestop doesn't have branch managers or general managers, only store managers (one per store) which is the highest titled person you'll encounter in a gamestop that's running a register. They typically get paid less than $30,000 a year and typically work 50+ hours a week (60+ during busy season) which is not enough to remotely give a shit. You are the only salaried employee so you're the only one who can work overtime and they expect you to do so all the time. Because it's a retail job for high school/college kids you can expect to constantly be dealing with issues via the phone and covering shifts. Additionally, corporate will never have your back - even when a customer complains about you doing something that corporate directly told you to do. Catch a bad break and you're fired.

There's very limited promotion from that position, the next rung being "District Manager" which oversees ~30 stores; meaning you only need 1 DM for ~30SMs. To make matters worse, a lot of closing chains (Blockbuster, Hollywood Video, FYE, Sports Authority, etc) have put a lot of very experienced District Managers into the employment pool so to get promoted out of "Store Manager" takes an huge amount of time if it ever happens at all. Even if you put in a large number of years and beat the odds and make DM, they start at $60,000 and your primary job is dealing with problem customers, like our friend. If you get promoted over the district that you came from your other job responsibility will be admonishing and/or firing your former peer-level friends for doing the things that you (and corporate) told them to do if there's a customer complaint.

Gamestop Brian isn't Zen, he is defeated. This interaction isn't anything but the official start of the holiday season for him. He'll have an interaction like this 3 times a day, 5 days a week until February.
