They don't. Joe is just finding whatever to bitch about because so little seems to change from game to game that he just is using it as an example. But the fuck does EA care if they keep selling? There is only two ways this shit is gonna change. The first being that lootboxes get regulated as gambling, which is the far more likely scenario. The other is people stop spending money. But who is going to convince them? Those sports gamers and whales don't fucking watch Angry Joe. They probably watch a select few Youtubers and Streamers who pump out the EA positive, non-critical, tutorial and highlight videos. As much as Joe and everyone wants to complain about this. It does nothing, because those complaining aren't who is buying this shit anyways. And they aren't listening.

Joe is, I think, in the same position that Sterling is in in that he doesn't really want to cover gaming news anymore. If you look at his channel now he isn't really covering much of anything. He declared Xbox the winner of E3 and did that Madden rant, and that's about it.

My honest feeling is that unless he gets a sponsorship deal he will NOT cover a game on his channel.

Had one of his recent news videos pop up on my playlist while I worked today.

God damn he keeps mumbling and I'm really questioning if he just does most of his videos tipsy. He has all the signs of hard binge drinking and alcoholism. He obviously not all there lately mentally as well. Plus, it's obvious now he only covers topics from companies that sponsor him in some way.

I'm not expecting him to make it to his 40's at this point. All the signs of total burnout and liver problems are there.

Edit: Also, Alex is the most obvious contrarian for the sake of attention man-child I've seen in years. His entire rap is to be edgy negative to seem like a big deal.

I try not to fall into the trap of accusing LOLcows I watch of every negative character trait and habit going; but your comment above is exactly what I have been thinking for some time. Look at Angry Joe now vs how he was when he started. Of course he’s fatter but his face specifically looks unusually bloated and closeups show a pasty palor, almost as one would suggest some hard drinking.

I’m no expert and could well be talking out of my sphincter. But perhaps Joe‘s similar waning interest and contempt for his fans to that of Jim Sterling is taking its toll.

He couldn't make any Nintendo content without it getting claimed or struck. The only way for someone like him to make that content was to enroll in their creator's program, which had a bunch of rules and took a 30% cut of the ad revenue. That's a hard pill to swallow considering YouTube already takes 50% off the top and the MCN gets their share too. That's the best case scenario. The worst is that your video isn't approved and the entire endeavor was a complete waste of time.

Didn't that end years ago? It doesn't really matter, it's just a way for Joe to act like a underdog/victim to act like Nintendo is a horrible company that's messing with Youtube creators for no reason.

Hm, you might be onto something. That could explain his progressively more retarded and whiny Twitter rants, just like with Spoony or DSP, who both are drinking regularly.

He's was pissy with them during the Wii U as well, to the point where he decided he wasn't gonna cover them at allt, so it's not a completely new thing with him by any stretch. However when the Switch came out he reversed course, although the policies he had a problem with didn't get dropped till 2019 actually.

Remember when BroTeam trolled Joe during GamerGate? Still one of the highlights of the time. Loads of people were so desperate for Joe's opinion on GG like he was the President ("if we can get Joe to Tweet out GamerGate, the libs will lose") and then Joe came out and said nothing of value. Glad Brote got the video taken down. You could sense how much he disliked Joe in the messages and Joe was just trying so hard to be his friend.

Sorry, just thinking about it the other day.
