Joe doesn’t realize that the Johnny Deep version of Willy Wonka is far more tolerable than the Timothée Chalamet version that has Wonka look like a pretty boy that just inherited a chocolate factory for the sake of saying that he loves chocolate while not eating it.

I know it doesn’t mean much, but the new Wonka movie just looks like it exists for the sake of existing. Though, for me personally, it might just be minor nitpick.

Johnny Depp sucked as Willy Wonka, but that's because Tim Burton's interpretation was complete dogshit.

On one hand, I don’t deny that maybe Tim‘s interpretation was a little off, but Johnny Depp’s performance when compared to Timotheé‘s was miles better. The new Wonka just looks like a little kid version of the original.

Depp’s version, while still a little wild, at least attempted to follow in the footsteps of what Gene Wilder tried to do with it.

I haven't seen the new movie yet, so I'm not got judge Timotheé's portrayal as Wonka just yet. I mean yea, I can see Depp's portrayal as Wonka a bit closer to Wilder, but it's Burton's vision that just doesn't work at all, and is only tailor made to the jaded Hot Topic goth/emo crowd of the 2000s.

Y'know it doesnt surprise me that Joe acts this way. Synthetic Man is right how Angry Joe and Act Man have become total faggots. Angry Joe sperging about how ppl voted for Trump and went against some of his own fans when Roe V Wade got over turned are just some examples. And how Act Man called some of Resident Evil fans "porn addicts" (leftist tactic) for wanting to able to see Ashley's panties. Angry Joe has failed to point out the wokeness of these games in his Starfield, Spider-Man 2 and Suicide Squad KTJL reviews. He failed to point out why those games are bad because he knows he will get backlash from his 3 million audience. His little "angry army" on patreon would probably unsubscribe. So I get why he wouldn't go against the woke mob. But punching Synthetic Man for his take on the obvious woke all gender bathroom in the Dead Space remake when it wasn't in the OG? And its very funny. His recent review on SSKTJL he pointed out the main flaws and gave it a low score (but no mention of the wokeness). But his comment section had comments asking "Why didnt u mention Wonder Womans bio about Toxic Masculinity"? Or how theres pride flags in the game and they made Harley ugly. The only thin he said that was good recently was that he admitted that Mary Jane is fucking ugly in Spider Man 2. Because well she is. She is so ugly that she could turn Medusa into stone.

Now, does it matter if he mentions if the game is woke or not? Yes, I believe it does matter. You cannot tell me that wokeness did not play a factor into why these games turned out so fucking awful. I would rather play Gollum or Skull Island Rise of Kong than the 2022 Saints Row or Forspoken. Whats worse than a bad game with a low budget? A bad game with a high budget and is full of woke shit.

It matters to Joe too because woke games are what he wants to see, or at least are something he thinks are good (though he might not think or understand why). I admit I don't watch him or people doing his style of commentary anymore. I called him a grifter because people like him are, in my opinion, spending so much time reacting to and debunking low hanging fruit like Joe's content because they're either politics first and gaming second or trying to make money by beating dead horses (like Joe). To me they're like breadtubers because they also seem to want infinite asspats and money calling out obvious shit.

I used to follow both political and non-political creators and slowly through the years all the political ones became grifters (eg Jim Sterling, Extra Credits, etc) and the only ones who stayed legit were the non-political ones like ACG or Ross Scott (Accursed Farms).
Upper Echelon Gamers, now just Upper Echelon, seems to be the only guy who put his money where his mouth was and started doing actual investigative reporting on woke shit instead of reacting to snips and clips from social media for content.

I theorize that its because once a creator starts catering to a crowd that's coming just to see someone rip apart things they don't like, they won't have the freedom to make non-angry videos anymore.
