Started getting into Trigun this morning (been on my watchlist ever since I got into Cowboy Bebop). Vash's actual character threw me off from the hardass I see on covers (my reaction's on par with Meryl. how can a guy act so goofy when he looks dope?). Does he change later on in the series?

Almost through with Samurai Champloo. I'm under the opinion that the best older anime I find tend to stop at 26 eps or less, which I find kinda funny.

His comic personality is mostly sincere, but he is also masking his standard issue tragic past. Also shit does get sad somewhere around the halfway/ three quarter mark.

Is anyone watching tribe nine? I don't really watch sports anime anymore cause I usually find it bland and formulaic but I'll pick them up if they take the sport in an absurd direction which is the case here. It's baseball but the characters use stuff like mechanical laser bats that hit the ball so hard it lands multiple city blocks away. Apparently it's supposed to advertise some gacha game that's not out yet but I picked it up based on the premise and cause the Danganronpa guys are involved.

I don’t think I have the high I.Q. at the moment to try to explain this scene. You’ll have to see for yourself in order to understand.
it doesn't help that it mixes 2 episodes at once without providing context. that's why I dislike clip video most of the time since they only appeal to people who already enjoyed the source.

the basic gist is that the ueno, the red head (of course) is tsun af for oblivious af tanaka, while also being a technical genius. so most of her inventions are a scheme to get him to confess or facility some tee-tee, with expectable outcome so absurd hijinks can ensue.

in that specific episode she created a personal shield stopping rain you can wear on your head, with the emitter being shaped like a buttplug. you can pretty much imagine what happens next. turns out at the end her goal was to share an umbrella shield with him.

No. He is Goofy forever. He is also dope. A major antagonist goal is to get him to change.

Dr.Stone manga just released the identity of Why Man. Turns out it was
The Medusas
.

The Foxy pirate arc feels so much like filler and I looked it up an apparently it's not but Jesus.

It does have its funny moments though, primarily the announcer talking shit to that cold hearted heathen navigator Nami.

I think the Foxy arc gets an undeserved bad rep. It succeeds in every aspect it wasintended to have: from being a light-hearted intermission between what was at the time the two longest and heaviest arcs in the series to being a final bastion of what One Piece was initially intended to be. It’s entertaining and never really overstays it’s welcome and highlights some of the best Strawhat interactions in the series. Finally, it sets up the next arc while also supporting the work Skypeia did in making Robin a sympathetic character to both the audience and the crew.

So the Shenmue anime is out, at least the first episode. Just watched it.

Outside of the strange change to Nozomi's character design (why?), I'm pretty happy with it so far. I wish the animation was OVA-quality, but it's a TV series, so...

It's very faithful to the games in the best way. The musical themes are there. The locations look perfect. The characters seem right. Ryo is using actual fighting moves from the games (and the animation is higher quality in the fighting scenes). The deviations from the game's story are slight and serve to make the story work better in the TV show format.

As a Shenmue megafan, I am pleased. I can't be sure how the show would work for someone who doesn't know the games at all, but I think they're doing a solid job. I want to see how they condense/adapt a lot of the times where Ryo is wandering around and what exactly they'll keep from the game's plot. (Phone calls, conversations, etc.)

I'm not trying to hate on it or anything it's just jarring. Like you said the show had been pretty serious since Arlong Park really and then suddenly we have the wacky pirate Olympics. It's definitely got a great since of humor and pace, but nothing is really happening either at least not yet.

That explains it. The Foxy arc is way longer in the anime so if you felt like it was filler you would be correct. I think that's where all the hate comes from, except with female fans who mostly seem to hate that lady pirate who treated Chopper like a pet. They fuckin HATE that bitch. I thought that crew was hilarious but I also only read the manga so they didn't outstay their welcome. If you're gonna go anime-only, you should know they add ANOTHER Foxy arc that's exclusively filler.

Here’s something, in the airing of Ranma in the Philippines they used a different song which was a popular J-pop song in the day which was never a part of the original soundtrack

not only does this track slap as it always has, the fitment is mint as well

So I hear the latest episode of Demon Slayer had some shitballs crazy levels of animation in it.
Maybe some of the best animation Ufotable has ever done. At the very least ties the Saber vs Rider fight from the Heavens Feel part 3 movie they did. Shit was insane.

Next episode of Demon Slayer is also the season finale. It will be 45 minutes long.

Ufotable has blown this season of Demon Slayer out of the water. Can’t wait to see them animate the rest of the manga.
