Attended the 2020 anime Matsuri, was pretty unorganized.

Cool venues though, but everytime I look this con up more and more bad shit is said about it

Mainly mismanagement and harassment behind the scenes.

With no proof to back most of it up. It’s always the same 10 dangerhairs whining about it. And always failing to even dent it.

Yep
Which is why I always take it with a grain of salt

One problem with this, chief: There was no convention that year. Anime Matsuri 2020 was canceled due to COVID concerns.
Was there one in 2021 or was that closed too.

My memory is shit and these past months has all blended together lately.

My mistake though.

Had to be 2019 or 2021, if not this year.

Mismanagement and poor organisation is very fair. They have a crew of less then 18 full-timers (only about 12 get paid) and the rest are volunteers. You need more intelligence on the spot to fix issues, or you need to lock shit in earlier. Things go wrong, and John or Denice have to run to try to put out a dumpster fire-each occurrence with mixed results.

The fact that Vic and that Takanashi are involved in the studio gives me hope that it might not a total dumpster fire in organsation because John and Denice have WAY too much to handle otherwise that they are failing to do. AM is a lot more successful than it has any right to be.

Looking back on the pics I took, it was the 21 con.

And let's stay optimistic it doesn't turn shit.

This. It seems like any controversies doesn’t shake them at all. Probably because they give a shit about anime more than most conventions.

But is this going to be a base in Houston that’s an actual recording studio like Okratron? Or is it something else? Because Jacob is building his house in Japan at the moment.

I am optimistic about AM eventually being successful. On the his recent livestream about the appeal result Rekieta said that they were also dubbing a series that has yet to be announced but Nick seemed positive about it based on what he said.

While it is annoying to see people ridicule them because they have only worked on stuff that's obscure/not well known, it's important to know that's how most anime companies get their start. I still remember when there was a time that all Sentai Filmworks was known for was only dubbing stuff like High School of the Dead while most of their then DVD releases were sub only.

Well, Sentai Filmworks is basically the same company as ADV, so it actually goes back to VHS only releases.

Frankly, I don't care what AM Studios works on, I'll probably watch. Most of the anime I watch the retard wokesters wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole anyways. There's benefits to watching unpopular shows, namely there is no stupid fandom attached to it. So you can enjoy it without having to worry about the latest Twitter "controversy" where white troons are mad that a character from Boku no Hero was drawn with boobs or whatever other dumb shit they are always whining about.

Anyone have the relevant clip from Vic's stream tonight? Cautiously excited to hear whats on this list.

Can't archive for some reason, sorry.

@TheClappening Did you catch this?
Was too swamped at work to even have gay pants man on in the background, unfortunately.

EDIT: Actually, I think I'm still subbed. I can look through the video.

EDIT2:
Nothing in relation to that tweet about AM projects.

Only thing of possible interest is apparently Vic will be doing filming for a project in February. I didn't clip it because the entirety of Vic's reaction on the message was "oh yeah I'm excited too!"

He's wearing gay pants at least. Although the gayness is kind of low, maybe 4/10 Gay Mignognas.

I was hoping for more news in December, but I guess we have to wait and see.
Maybe they are going to announce them at Anime Matsuri this year?

That would make sense, and might give them time to get the dubs underway / licensed for distribution even.

@Squally Hey, where can I watch those movies that debuted at Anime Matsuri last year? Did AM Studios/Vic put them up somewhere? If not, do we have a confirmed release date for a physical and digital release?
