The point of my post is that these people get pissed off about some of the stupidest shit there is out there. Is it particularly smart to overindulge on low-brow ecchi and modern-day isekai as an adult? No. But the way these people make it out is like it's the biggest problem in the modern world. That's why I said I'd rather be a coomer than a pseud whose entire life is shitting on animation meant to advertise comics and pulp novels and sperging out on Twitter. At least coomers are honest about their stupidity. The ANN retards, on the other hand, behave like 14 year olds who still think they're smart for liking [unpopular anime x]. I myself watch chiefly mecha anime, and that's about as unpopular of a genre in the West as you can get, but I never shat on people for not liking the genre and I don't think that makes me any smarter than your average anime fan. Hell, I don't even care about coomerism that much - I was a coomer during my teenage years, outgrew it, simple as.

Two cases of recent memory is Gundam's diversity voice casting [Internet Archive] (bullshit garbage) and the author of Mushoku Tensei's further comments on Rudeus's beliefs on slavery [Internet Archive] (MC of Mushoku Tensei). Surprise surprise, both articles were written by Lynzee Loveridge. I often think on which came first; the journo's view on what is "controversial" or actual users getting up in arms about some no name shit. Truly, it is a chicken or the egg problem, but I am more inclined to believe that these journos are trying to make mountains out of mole hills.

I have a real beef about the diversity casting """"Gundam controversy."""" All of these woke Californian motherfuckers sound the same. Why the fuck should you or I care about some voice actor/actress speaking English; having the same skin color as the character in some anime? He argues that you want level-headed opinions not raving and ranting about "muh patriarchy!" A pretty reasonable argument, but someone will always have a problem with it. Unsurprisingly, the retard who had a problem with it is none other than a writer in anifem. You will have to go through the all the replies since the original thread has been deleted, and IA can't archive already deleted threads. You can see here that OtakuDaiKun is going through the arguments quite rationally. You can probably point out some flaws, but he is trying to be level-headed here. Meanwhile, you have Caitlin acting a fucking fool here. Of course, Lynzee has to chip in with her wisdom.

Oh yeah that sure was an episode which showed how demented Caitlin is quite well. We talked about it here back when it originally happened back in February.

This episode started when the video (it was already a year old at this point) was discovered and tweeted about by some Canadian anime academic who Caitlin is friends with, Aurelie Petit. I never read Aurelie's papers but unsurprisingly someone trustworthy tells me they're shit and filled with generalizations. Caitlin responded to her tweet and had a Sam Biddle-brained circlejerk with a couple of her other friends over it, which led to Dai's response, cue the long popcorn-worthy slapfight between him and Caitlin...

Here's the comments on the video she highlighted as "unkind and incorrect":
"In the pursuit of purging all impurity from the world, the anime feminist accidentally villainized beauty itself." You see AniFem doesn't hate ALL sexiness in anime, they like [whatever show I'm supposed to put here I forget]! Or something, I don't know
"Its not about warning people, its about controlling people. What they can do and what they can watch, they want to control all of it." Care to explain how this one is incorrect Caitlin? The site wants to tell you what you can't watch or like all the time, including reviews from you yourself
"Hey AniFem[, as] a woman myself, I feel like you'll listen too me. Cry harder. Maybe you'll shrivel up from all the salt." You're a woman, but you're into other things besides shojo so Caitlin doesn't want your perspective.

Notably this happened the same month where previously AniFem was getting flogged by yurifags who called them homophobic for ignoring DIY's queerness and half-assing Bocchi. Caitlin literally gave Dai (+ the other anti-SJWs who joined the slapfight) here more attention than she and the rest of AniFem did to that lot. Ignoring wokies who don't like you to keep fighting them chuds sure is a good tactic, eh?

I also liked back in July, when someone who she follows made a blog with a title taking a shot at "joyless hacks". She saw it and decided "joyless hacks" must be referring to her and her fellow reviewers. Unfortunately the guy gave her that inch and even said he respects her as a critic and wouldn't consider her the type he was calling "joyless hacks". His Twitter is private most of the time, so I only get to see what he says on the occasions he goes unlocked to promote his newest blog post (as was the case there).
