“Animorphs” Movie in the Works - Can’t be any worse than the Nickelodeon show

Couple of minor updates regarding the movie.

K.A Applegate is no longer involved in the making of the movie, citing “creative differences” which makes me think this is either not gonna happen or it’s gonna suck by involving “current year” crap.

Not sure if they ever gave more info.

Second, those graphic novels started coming out and it seems pretty well done. While it’s not quite as graphic as morphing was described in the books, the sound effects do still hint at it.

It's always a good sign when the author of the book series you're adapting wants nothing to do with your movie adaptation.

I can only imagine how this will go down.

Jake will end up being a voluntary Controller or secretly in league with the Yeerks because he’s an evil hwhite male

Rachel and Cassie will be the stunning and brave lesbian couple in an interracial relationship

Marco will still be the wacky sidekick, but they’ll ditch the fact he was probably the smartest person in the group in favor of wacky comedy that would make the Frito Bandito look subtle in comparison

Tobias will remain largely unchanged, simping for Rachel and being a moody hawkcel. He’ll be the one the audience is supposed to relate with

They both did. They were also dating by like the 20th book or so, but there was never any real dumb relationship drama like cheating or stupid jealousy that causes bickering or whatever.
They were also 13.

I feel like I remember something in the books about Tobias saying seagulls were assholes. He had a fun quirk to him where he’d bitch about people thinking eagles and stuff were cool. Like if an actual hawk became a moody teenager. It was pretty fun

First book he was the narrator for. He even went full hawk for a while and almost completely forgot his humanity.

I am seriously regretting not reading more Animorphs books as a kid. That sounds really interesting.

I’m pretty sure you can find a full collection of all the books online for free if you’re interested enough. The reading will be a bit simple, but they still hold up pretty well

If you’re interested you can download them here some Redditor compiled them together. It’s been ages since I’ve read them, but for books aimed at middle schoolers they’re pretty heavy, certainly a cut above what was being marketed towards kids in the mid 90s

He did.. But in the beginning of the series at least, he was kind of gay for Jake. They'll probably play that up in any movie they make.

I wouldn’t say Tobias was gay for Jake, it was just that Jake was the only one who was even remotely kind to him so Tobias hung around like a lost puppy.
Tobias had a super shitty home life, no one even realized he’d gone ‘missing’ after being stuck as a hawk and the saving the world stuff ramped up.
