Anna is one of these people. She wants to believe she's a paragon of the community, a person who's just so much more moral than you that she can reach out to people like Chris and give him the friendship and support only a really top quality human being can. What she doesn't realise is that she's a crazy cat lady, but with overweight autists instead of cats (she might also have cats, does she have cats? Cats.) Anna doesn't like Chris, she likes how pretending to be friends with him lets her wave her big ass morality billboard at people. Chris to her is a badge, his only purpose is to give her a justifiable reason for being 'better' than average Joe, because she cares about the little people.

TL;DR Anna just wants Chris so she can pretend to be awesome and she actually hates him. The end.

This pretty much sums up how I view Anna. She's not interested in helping Chris, she just wants him to be the same so she can feel that 'at least she is not Chris'.

The email she sent to Catherine (the one she calls Chris naive) demonstrates her nature in regards to Chris. She knows Chris needs help, but refuses to do so (mind you, even if she did chances are chris would ignore her like the rest who tried, but at least she would have tried).

Sometimes I suspect that she is actually jealous of Chris's efame. That would explain plenty of things.
 
She'd have to be especially deluded to believe that by now. I'd guess at it being some kind of defensiveness for her own identity but, I dunno.
 
De-lurking to post some wild speculation (sorry if I missed it in other threads and am just rehashing old bullshit):

Does anyone else think that Anna's disappearance might be related to the whole 'Chris-is-a-lesbian' thing? Her last comment on his public facebook posts was right before he announced it in August. She successfully defused his initial pursuit by telling him that she is a lesbian (whether true or not), and was basically the only boyfriend-free girl who has put up with him for any length of time (who wasn't trolling him...or Megan). But if Chris is suddenly a lesbian, than her being a lesbian would stop working as an excuse. What do you want to bet that some shit went down?

More idle speculation that maaaaaybe belongs in another thread: What if in Chris-world, being a "Tomgirl, Intersex of Female Soul with Male Body, and a Tranny Cross-Dresser" is more of a way to try to cover all his bases than legitimate gender dysphoria? Lesbian? I'm a lesbian! Straight? I haz 7" duck! Using a Sailor Moon poster to keep thoughts of stupid sexy man-pickles at bay? I'm not gay, I'm a woman! What if in the mind of Chris, being a gaybian is actually broadening his pool of potential partners instead of narrowing it?

Good point. For the love of godbear he calls it his "ugly growth" in casual conversation with a nigh stranger even while bragging about it. He's not playing with a full deck. Hell, he's probably trying to play poker with UNO cards.
 
Agreed. Sorry, should have clarified that I don't think it's a giant elaborate exercise in critical thinking or deception on his part, and more of a path of least resistance that he kind of drifted towards after years of being called gay, his love quest being thwarted by lesbians and "lesbians," failed feats of strength/really all attempts to live up to his idealized macho-ish self, misandry, self-loathing, bent duck, and crossdressing leading to Tomgirl era to now. Plus LOTS of internet.

But when it comes to Anna? We know that he was interested in her at one point. We know that when he sees a woman as a potential sweetheart, he sucks at respecting her disinterest in him unless she has a clear excuse. We know he has basically no filter. Is it really a crazy stretch to think that, when he was desperately trying to find lesbians to scissor with his unclit, Anna might have crossed his mind? Especially when he was 'in an open relationship' with Catherine, who was making him super jealous with Colin?

Anna has remained silent on some prime White Knight-bait since then. Where did she go, and why?

Anna hasn't gone anywhere. Anna generally doesn't engage trolls. She has no reason to.

Yes, I think Chris considered the possibility of Anna accepting him as a Tomgirl and it motivated him along with other things. I also think he became his own "Sweetheart from the Ground Up" after years of loneliness. Chris may end up marrying himself one day. Also as far as widening the pool by being a Tomgirl... Yes Chris thinks he's still a hunk despite also being a woman.

Chris came up with the Tomgirl idea as it's been around for a long time, but the whole tranny/transgendered lesbian soul/3-quarters woman thing was totally the work of trolls. I can't imagine any reasonable person can think otherwise. There certainly hasn't been any content released that shows otherwise.

Once you make Chris feel accepted and feel he might find a heartsweet to take care of him after his mom dies (I don't even think it's about china anymore since he's had that) he will do anything to increase his chances. And once that troll is gone and we're on to the next, he'll think it's best to do those things that almost worked before.

You're talking about a guy who was so proud of his duck he used to refer to it as big and even traced it for us in a comic. He has been lead to believe the acceptance he's always craved is in the LGBT community and that's why he's there. If the next troll-girl who paid attention to him was super conservative and couldn't get close to anyone who dressed like her hippy grandma he would totally revert to class Chris and be talking about them dang dirty liberals.

His powers of self deception are truly a miracle of bad parenting and warped perception.

Chris started that jig when Jackie was around and clung to it for several years before Catie came around the corner with most of the transformation coming after any Troll involvement.
I guess it's safe to assume trolls didn't put that bug up Chris' ear.

Guess I missed the memo about Jackie being true and honest. I know it started with Jackie. Catie only nurtured it and drove him over the edge.

That's not what he said. He didn't say Jackie caused it, but merely that Chris started it during Jackie. And Catie didn't have anything to do with Chris' tomgirlism.

(Well, also it's irrelevant to the discussion whether or not Jackie was true and honest.)
