unless someone who knew at Gearbox has a bone to pick with him or the woman in question brings it into the spotlight, I don't think anyone would know enough to bring it up publicly. everything I can find is more Twitter discussion amongst the coolhole folks—nothing substantial, just the same rumor mill shit. I don't think anyone who actually knows more is likely to attempt getting back at him, either. he's doing a pretty good job of ruining his own life; nobody really needs to drag his name through the mud to fuck him over.

I hope it does come out, though. watching him try to cover his ass would be so fun.

I don't know about anyone else here, but I'd prefer a name that screams "Michael Jackson's seed" to "Anthony Burch's seed". at least the former did something with his life.

What exactly is he doing at Riot? Lore writing? Character design? League is the most popular game in the world and Riot is owned by old Chinese people so his usual antics won't get him far.

I also wonder if he has creative control, which new hires usually don't unless they're hired into a senior position. That opens the door to all sorts of insanity if he's designing characters.

If I remember correctly the lore writing and character design teams are completely separate entities (at least in the sense of the short stories each character gets on release, obviously somewhere along the line in creating a concept the design team have to come up with some sort of back story). Think the lore team already has a leader in place so Burch will just be another cog in the machine going forward, although exactly how much input the guy gets remains to be seen.

Alas, we already got one champion that's pretty much pandering to the Tumblr crowd (Taliyah has a serious case of Tumblr-face going on...)
