Because Anthony Burch really can't write worth a damn. This shouldn't be surprising if you've played BL2/TPS, because as far as writing goes they're a mess, especially in the latter case.

The only thing he was capable of competently writing were short skits featuring video game jokes and honestly anyone could make those, the only thing that made his skits unique is that he had a cute sister and a cool dad who were willing to help him out.

Is he seriously blaming the Hero's Journey for Gamergate? The literary structure that has existed for atleast 4000 years was made with the foresight that it'd lead to Internet shitposting and that Gilgamesh would be the first Gamergate supporter?

Morrowind already did the "you are average" plot. Oblivion even kind of continued it. In both cases you're not really the destined hero even though in Morrowind you are fulfilling a prophecy, but you're not fulfilling it because of destiny, the first couple of parts you fulfill on complete accident like becoming immune to disease. You can go around telling people that you're NOT the legendary hero, a tactic that gets respect from the main villain even.

Bottom line is, you can go AAA and do interesting things, like deconstruct the whole "prophecy" trope.

I did some quick google searching and I cant really find anything about her and Anthony Burch specifically besides twitter pictures they post. However I did find out her and Ashley Burch work together on rocketjump.
