On air can be regarded as an "exaggeration for the sake of comedy" but this was pretty clearly targeted harassment of someone who was not even close to being a public figure. Additionally, SiriusXM (the merged company) clearly held the Opie and Anthony show in extremely low regard and this was likely the chance they were looking for to clean house. The O&A show, while funny to listeners, generated a huge amount of negative controversy for the company when "no publicity is bad publicity" was no longer true. The show had a constant slew of retards coming in, like Bobo, but an extremely tumultuous staffing situation as well (extremely hostile to Interns, producers and security changing constantly, most fans pirating/social media offiste, ex-producer killed himself, etc).

By the time Anthony lost his fucking mind they were probably psyched to get rid of him. Opie would get the boot a few years later for something that also would have flown under the radar in their hayday. Jim and Sam show probably costs $40 to make per episode - and that's the charge the wrestler asks for when taking a photo with Jim Norton.

Ant lost the fight and probably had a concussion. All he could see when he closed his eyes was the group of black guys who watched him and laughed at his beatdown and he needed to lash out at the world.
 
Anthony is a racist but also a complete moron.

Disliking black people/culture isn't crazy, but trying to use your corporate "comedy radio show" as a platform to shout out loud about how racist you are and then being completely shocked when you get fired was not a great plan.

The idea that Ant if baffled that Bill Burr (who is now rubbing shoulders with Disney execs and producers) and his black wife would be put off by his constant racism is head scratching to the say the least.

He's no more racist now than he was 15 years ago, but 15 years ago these same people kissed his ass because he controlled a platform that could launch any comedian into stardom. I get the fallout but a lot of the older comedians giving him shit are being kind of two faced.

To be fair, but he got pushback about it constantly.

Bill Burr was giving him shit about it as far back as 10 years ago. DeRosa stopped talking to him for a while, and other comics would just stop showing up as frequently if not just stopping showing up at all. The "friends of the show" pool dissappated and that's why it massively nosedived into WWE shit, MMA shit, retards on staff and from the audience, Vos and Notron, and so on.

To this end, the funniest thing Opie ever did was fading in the candy crush music from his phone in the middle of one Ant's unhinged rants about some shit he read on Stormfront or Niggermania. That might have been the same show as the grape fight.

They do talk about Cumia in this show as well. It's short, but Dave says Cumia never gave him trouble when Dave needed to do something family related and if anything Cumia made it a point that if there was a family issue it came first. Crowder on the other hand tried to force Dave to relocate his family and wouldn't let him leave early or come in late if his family needed something.

I've seen a YT clip (no clue when or which clip channel) where Cumia talks about paying Landau 100k+ as co-host on his network, but being okay with Landau leaving because the offer from Crowder was ridiculously more.

Yeah pretty much he used to be a gate keeper and a king maker in the comedy scene. In that role, you can get away with a lot more shit.

Now he can't do shit but hurt someone's career by association and he wonders why no one returns his phone calls. Nana bitching about this is like Artie Lange complaining no one trusts him to work on a show anymore besides Cumia.

This happens all the time in various industries.

Wasn't there another radio has-been who got taken off the air and is now amazed that he has been ghosted by every celebrity entertainer who used to call him a friend when they would go on his show to promote stuff to his millions of listeners? 🤔
